Business Owner
The therapeutic approach I use is Cognitive Therapy. I specialize in treating areas of stress as well as the anxiety disorders, worry, OCD, depression, bi-polar disorder. Often, I work with senior executives around management issues and executive stress.
Cognitive Therapy is an Evidence Based Treatment which means that its validity and efficacy have been verified experimentally. It is goal directed and symptom focused, and is founded on the premise that feelings are based on perceptions and thoughts. Often, these thoughts are not accurate. I teach a way to determine if they are not and then to change them to more realistic thoughts. You feel better in a short time.
Therapy is also an art. A person starts at one place. The goal is to go from that place to another one that is better. That process is a creative one. It involves perceptiveness, knowledge, thought, inventiveness, ingenuity, and resourcefulness. Such is the art that makes my work so interesting.
