Fast service, pretty good pizza, and a lot of seating with an impressively large, nice and clean seating area in the back. We came here after the macys parade balloon inflation so it was packed. They did a great job accommodating a mass of people with kids, families and police officers, and there was plenty of seating despite the crowds. We ordered the buffalo pizza and i especially liked the healthier choice of tomato mozzarella pizza with a whole grain crust. Also, a pizza place with seating that has window treatments in the back? I had never seen that, and again despite the crowds the staff stayed on top of keeping all the tables clean.

Half a star? This is a terrible business. The pizza is only mediocre in NYC standards and the customer service is some of the worst I’ve experienced here. First of all its way over priced and charges twice as much as regular pizza places just because they are«near Times Square». Bullshit. The pizza isn’t even that good and the guys behind the counter are jerks. I do not recommend this place and tourists beware, they will rip you off nonsensically. You can find better pizza places and shouldn’t pay more than $ 3 for a slice.

Sucks. The service brings this down to a one for sure but I’m pretty sure these csuckers ripped me off. $ 12 for two slices of their shit pizza?! I waited forever at the register to pay when my slices were out of the oven and the fat bitch wouldn’t ring me up. I asked if I should pay later and she said«yea.» I went back and the ahole charged me the $ 12 — fine. Now the pizza. I got the white spinach pizza — frozen spinach in clumps and not even hot out of the oven. Wife got the buffalo chicken — it was ok. I don’t know why we stopped here but we did and we regret it. This is NYC — the pizza need to be better.

Was told by a friend that I must check out Ray’s Pizza, near Times Square, ugh was it a waste of my money. Don’t get me wrong, the pizzas are edible and the Stromboli was okay, if I could get past the cold center. My biggest issue was the blatant mis advertised prices. Either they think I’m a «Shmuck» as they say here in New York, or they are just horrible mathematicians, but when you advertise a margarita pizza at $ 4.75, a Stromboli at $ 5.25, a pepperoni with Italian sausage at $ 4.75, how does that add up to $ 23. Even if the tax rate were that astronomical, who in there right mind would pay those prices for pizza, when you’re in a city that’s famous for the 50cent slices? So, you’re thinking in your head that this must be some error at the reg, and why not just mention that you may have been over charged? Because, the moment I did, I get chewed out by some Italian dude who says each thing is $ 6 and the rest is tax. Dear lord, did I walk into the Soup Nazi of New York Pizza, or maybe I just look too Asian? Oh well, all I can do is shake my head and post a not so pleasant review on Unilocal. If the pizzas weren’t a little decent, it would probably be a 1 star. At least I was able to sit down and watch him scam everyone else who came in after me as well. Ray’s Pizza??? Not worth my money, come to think of it, not worth my time either.

Very good delivery in the neighborhood. I like both the classic pepperoni and the margarita with fresh mozzarella.

The BF and I were getting pretty hungry after watching the Book of Mormon and we were looking for something to eat. We just decided to walk north while I tried searching stuff on my phone. We’re from Southern California… where our winters are still around 60 degrees. And it was 13 degrees out. This was seriously the coldest weather I’ve ever been in and I was literally in pain from shivering so damn much. So we just gave up and walked into the first place that didn’t look super expensive. It was pretty pricey for what it is. I think around $ 3 – 5 a slice, and it’s not even like a fancy slice or anything. I ended up getting just garlic knots. Which were pretty tasty. I had some of my boyfriend’s bacon pizza and it was just ok. If you’re looking for good NY pizza, I wouldn’t come here for it.

DONOT go to this pizza joint if you are in Times Square!!! So it is a little before midnight on a Monday night and its raining in Times Square. I am pretty drunk and I just fell on my ass more times than I care to admit skating in Rockefella center. I need food to soak up the alchohol and make my knees and elbows stop aching. Keep in mind … I am NOT a belligerant when I drink. In fact, I think I get more polite, so its not like I’m one of the Jersey Shore cast fistpumping next to the case and trying to make out with anyone who walks by. I wasn’t hungry enough to go to the ever awesome Carnegie deli, right down the street … so I went into Ray’s. The owner(who I now call Mr. Asshole) was standing behind the counter. He starts giving me attitude right away because I am making up my mind which pizza to get. ‘Hurry Up! There are people behind’ he says in Middle Eastern accented English. Place was empty … there was one person behind me, and it was my brother. Finally, I order two slices of a pizza that has Pepperoni and Sausage on it, which is sitting in the case. The kid behind the counter takes two pieces out and slides it into the oven for a few seconds toasting it and then gives it to Mr. Asshole to ring up. When he rings it up, he charges me $ 14 for two slices of pizza(when a large cheese pie is $ 16.) I tell him that there are 2 toppings on the slice and he puts his finger right on the piece and says ‘Mushrooms too!’ There were maybe 3 or 4 pieces of mushrooms on each slice. So he charges me an extra $ 1 per slice for a couple mushrooms I didn’t even see. Whatever, it is late and Im hungry. He does the same trick with my brother who got the Buffalo Chicken pizza. Blue Cheese and Chicken. 2 slices … $ 16. Mr. Asshole says ‘Buffalo Sauce is ingredient!’ So basically he charged him an extra $ 1 per slice for hot sauce. We actually ate the pizza and it tasted like something you pull out of the garbage. The pizza was dried out and the toppings were bland. It was awful pizza, which is almost a crime to serve in NYC where there are so many good pizza places. This has all the atmosphere of a jail cell with neon lights. It is FILTHY. It was December and there were flies buzzing around. Where do you even find flies in December? Do you import them from Florida? The tables are dirty and greasy and the floors look as dirty as the floors in a bus station bathroom. I hate Ray’s pizza for this experience and the Middle Eastern manager who rolls his eyes when you ask for extra napkins and overcharges you by $ 2 each order because he can sucks. There are 5 or 10 other pizza places within a few hundred feet of this place. Don’t fall for the ‘Ray’s Famous’ thing … the only thing famous about Ray’s is that this manager won the Guiness Book of World Records reward for ‘The Biggest Asshole’ 5 years in a row.

Famous Ray’s Pizza? I don’t get it. First night in NYC. Had to get a slice of that famous NYC pizza, right? Taken from several recommendations(NYC visitors, locals, doormen at our hotel, etc.), they said Rays was the place to go! Excited… and hungry… we trekked to the nearest Rays to have our first slice. — Nice Service — Cheap — Pizzas sitting under a heat lamp display case. — Pizza then taken out of the display case and put in the oven for a minute or two. — Get soda and pay. — Small area for seating(a few barstools and tables) — Costco size chili flakes, parm cheese, garlic powder, etc. Pizza itself: not good. Dominos has better quality.

As I was waiting in Central Park for Shakespeare in the Park tickets on Sunday morning, I suddenly felt a pang of hunger in my stomach — and it was no wonder, as I had no time to eat breakfast. Given my budgetary constraints and the amount of money I was anticipating spending later that day, I decided to go for something that wasn’t expensive. I also had no cash on me so I needed to find a place that took credit cards. Ray’s Pizza ended up being the place for me — after some debate with myself, I ordered a cheese calzone with meatballs inside. The calzone was decently-sized, but I was disappointed by how it tasted. I am under the impression that calzones need to have some sort of sauce in them. Generally, I get tomato sauce in mine. The calzone I got from Ray’s Pizza was really dry and had no sauce in it. All it contained was ricotta and mozzarella cheese. I couldn’t finish half of it since it was way too cheesy without having any sort of balancing factor like sauce. I really should have just ordered a pizza from Ray’s Pizza — it would have been cheaper and probably would have tasted better. I’ve heard from friends that the pizza is delicious — I think I’ll go ahead and order pizza next time.

Probably some of the worst pizza I have ever had. The buffalo chicken lacked flavor and wouldn’t have taken another bite if it wasn’t for the fact I was starving. I thought NY was known for their pizza?

So yummy! I stopped by here in a rush after work & even though I was starving & probably would of liked anything at that point, the pizza here was good! I bought 2 plain slices & unlike other pizza spots, the mozzarella tasted really fresh & of beter quality. I’ll have to try the garlic knots next time!

This review can be summed up in 4 words«It’s better than Sbarro» If you find yourself in Times Square late one night and absolutely starving you could do much worse than this place. The slices are very good size and they had several different kinds to choose from. A quick reheat in the oven and you have a nice warm crispy snack to stave off the hunger. This certainly isn’t a place I would seek out, but like I said, you could do much worse.

I am currently eating a reheated slice of pizza and it is not as I remembered it 2 nights ago when it was fresh and I was drunk. When it arrived, I remembered it being cheesy and saucy and delicious but now, I wonder if it was the beer goggles because the pizza is chewy and there seems to be no sauce. Hence the 3 stars. I bet it was 4 star pizza before but it is 2 star now at best. And I love cold pizza.

This was NOT a good way to start my NY Pizza Tour! I was in NY for a week on business and wanted to try as much pizza as was humanly possible… this was the first place I went and was a horrific way to begin. Came on a Sat night… not too long of a line… ordered a slice of cheese($ 2.75) from the very annoyed and irritable man behind the counter. The pizza looked old and gross… like it’d been sitting there since early morning. Needless to say, it tasted old and gross as well. Maybe it’s better when it’s fresh? All I know is that this was disgusting… I’ll take frozen pizza over Ray’s anyday.

Needed a quick bite so I popped in here… looked like any other generic pizza place on the street. Gf ordered a cheese pizza for $ 3 – 4? And I got the bacon-sausage pizza for $ 6. It was reheated but it was still good. Tonnes of bacon bits… not tooo crazy greasy. It’s pizza… it couldn’t be THAT phenomenal It’s not the kind of place that you go to when you crave pizza, but it’s the place you go to when you are roaming NYC hungry and in need of some carbs. Tip-bits: Seating is plentiful at the back Cool A/C makes for relief from the summer heat!

Looking for good pizza? Stay in Los Angeles. During a recent trip to NY I tried to eat as much pizza as I possibly could — just so I could have my fill of what has been talked about as the best in the world. Was it the best in the world? Not close. There’s much better stuff back home in Los Angeles, you just have to know where to get it. Ray’s was decent, and it helped that it was only a block away from the hotel we stayed at, but I’ve had much better elsewhere. Try it and form your own opinion, then come visit Los Angeles and try some of our amazing pizza — just make sure you go to the right places.
