First of all, the acai bowls are the best in NYC — I am pretty much addicted to them. In terms of service, the staff members who have been at this location for a long time are really great — friendly, fast and make delicious smoothies and bowls. I took off one star because the newer staff members can’t seem to get it together — charging the wrong prices and almost always leaving out something from my order that I paid for :-/​. It’s annoying, but the acai bowls keep me coming back.

Although I knew I was buying a really pricey smoothy, I was craving it so badly that I decided to cave in. I forget the name of the one I got, but it was mostly strawberries, blueberries, and had coconut water. The smoothie size was pretty big and it tasted pretty refreshing, but my biggest gripe is that the coconut water taste was REALLY strong. I’m not a huge fan of coconut water so I figured a small amount mixed in wouldn’t hurt. Unfortunately it did. And pretty bad. Even if I liked it though, I’d imagine a $ 9 smoothie to have more fruit than tasting pretty coconut watery. :(

i did it! i finally convinced myself to get an acai bowl! the only experience i’ve really had with acai is through those delectable acai-​blueberry brookside chocolate bites (mm mm) so i wasn’t certain what exactly this ~acai bowl~ would taste like, what its consistency would be, or if it would be worth the pretty decent stack i was about to lay down for it.
i ordered the mixed berry bowl, with help from the friendly server on the other end, and i was surprised! here i was expecting something akin to a yogurt consistency, and perhaps it was due to there being no banana or peanut butter in the bowl, but it was icy fresh, like a non-​dairy smoothie had been dumped into a cute little bowl with a sturdy spoon. not that i’m complaining though – those crunchy bites were so refreshing, perfect in the sudden warmth we had today. i wasn’t getting distinct acai or strawberry notes, but i think the two go just right together with the plump blueberry on top. this was also my first experience with hemp granola, and i won’t lie, i think i much rather prefer my crunchy granola without that hemp aftertaste haha
regardless! can i say this is the best acai bowl i’ve ever had? nah, though i do have that bowl from twohands on my list of to-try’s, so maybe i’ll be back to update this for future comparison. but i can say that it was a nice experience and great to beat the heat when you want something kind on the waist and tastebuds!

Competitively priced smoothies at around $ 8.00 each. The value is there — these are the thickest, smoothest, most filling smoothies I’ve ever had. The texture is creamy and I’ve honestly never finished a whole one.
Pure Green Smoothie: Healthy, yes, but still sweet. Made with Kale and Spinach, 3 sweetening fruits (mango, banana and pineapple) and coconut water.
Banana Nut: Simpler than some of the other smoothies — for the less adventurous. Banana, cashew butter, coconut, whey, agave and almond milk.
***The winner*** Chocolate Mousse: This is basically a chocolate milkshake. This is hands-​down the most delicious thing that was ever marketed as a healthy item. Made from Raw Cacao, Avocado, bananas, whey, coconut, agave and almond milk, it’s truly as satisfying as a Chocolate Shake from Shake Shack.

Their coconut chia acai bowl is definitely the tastiest I’ve had this side of the island (west). The chopped up bits of apple and shredded coconut are heavenly when mixed with the crunchy granola and chia, and if it’s hot out? Mmmmmm.
However, the wait and line here is fairly outrageous. I put about 20 minutes into waiting for this delicious bowl and yes, while I’d likely do that again, I can say they lost lots of business from people who just gave up and walked out. Please, hire one more person! You will gain a ton more customers if you do.

Deeeeelicious! SO MUCH BETTER THAN LIQUITERIA!!! I’m serious guys if you’re craving an acai bowl or smoothie, come HERE. Smaller, better service, cleaner, genuinely better smoothies.

Just stopped by because I wanted to treat myself to an overpriced smoothie. All but one of all the juice and smoothie shops I’ve been to in the neighborhood are at least $ 8.00 for their smoothies. It’s just something you have to accept if you’re gonna go for a smoothie in the city, so I can’t even say this place is particularly expensive. I got the Blue Royale ($ 8.88 w/​a 10% NYU discount) bc it was super popular on Unilocal.
I’m often disappointed when I get smoothies bc I can usually easily recreate the same thing at home, but good lord this was a good smoothie. It was the perfect balance of nutty, creamy, and fruity all at once. Such a unique blend, probably the reason why I’m going to come back here instead of other smoothie places. Service was pretty great, the cashier offered me some samples of a really yummy coconut chocolate bar.
They also have pressed juices in the fridge along with some other yogurts and snacks.

Meh. Apparently, I should have tried the Blue Royale instead of the Pure Green. It was very green, and I couldn’t taste the 5 fruits that were in it. Oddly enough, it tasted like mussels to me (yes, the seafood), likely because the smoothie was so grainy and I felt like I was eating sand every time I took a sip. Not sure where that’s from…
I might be back to try the Blue Royale, but even with the 10% NYU discount, the smoothies are $ 8+ which is on the pricey side. I can get better smoothies made with real fruit for cheaper elsewhere.
UPDATE: Alright, I came back to try the Blue Royale that people were raving about, and I gotta say, it truly is really good. I don’t like blueberries, so I was skeptical, but this is delicious. It has blueberries, almond butter, coconut flakes, why protein, and almond milk, I believe. I think I just really like almond butter. The flavors complement nicely. Though, I really hate that the blueberries leave a blue/​black residue on my lips the way Oreos do.

Great cute place near NYU campus. This place has great choices with acai bowls priced at around $ 8.50−9 and juices $ 9+. They also offer 3 options for juicing plans. I personally really like the acai bowls here just because their portions are huge. I also love the consistency of their acai. I would describe it as pretty thick, which I prefer. Perfect for any college students or if your in the area. Definitely going to come visit again!

Service was friendly (staffer chatting with her friends as she prepared the pricey but OK bowl) and the mixed berry bowl not bad.
They brew La Colombe if you’re so inclined and trust their preparation and don’t wanna head a bit southeast for the namesake NoHo location.

The blueberry coconut acai bowl was very filling.

Update: this was my first acai bowl, but after trying another storefronts acai bowl I realized what it should and should not be. Looking back I’m a little sad to say pure greens bowls are icy and less flavorful

Awesome smoothies. Awesome green juice. I wasn’t a fan of the coco hydrate water (i found the mix of coconut water + pineapple + lemon + chia seeds a bit off-​putting) but the smoothies are THE BEST!

Juices and smoothies cost an arm and a leg in the city. Most smoothies and juices are roughly $ 8 – 10, so stop complaining about the price. Jamba juice is a few blocks away so take your business there. As far as taste, Pure Green smoothie uses really great ingredients and all the agents they use to sweeten their smoothies are all natural. I love being able to taste the fruit and not icy frozen fruits that most places use.
Must tries;
Blue royale: By far on of their most popular smoothie and for good reason. It tastes like fruit and has a hint of protein.
Mocha cold brew: Doesn’t taste like coffee but so freakin’ good.
Purple Haze: This has more protein in it and is on the thicker side, but I usually use this as a breakfast replacement if I’m on the go.
Green smoothie: very green and healthy, not my favorite but if I want a good cleanse, this is the way to go.
Juices: I have only tried their juices as sample and all were pretty refreshing.

This place makes one of the most delicious acai bowls, especially for on the go. I definitely put Pure Green in my top 3 bowls in the city (yes I eat them that often that there’s a top 10).
Also… I have to say that their ‘Coconut Hydrate’ juice is by far the best juice that I’ve had in the city. I had it for the first time last week, and haven’t bought a different juice since. Maybe I’ll get sick of it, probably not… time will tell. But for now, this juice is crack!

Super healthy. We got the very berry! It was super thick so we added water to it. Drinks were around 8.50 $ its worth if you’re super thirsty and trying to eat clean/​healthy. We were walking by and saw people drinking it and decided to drop by. Beside the seeds in the berries drink, the texture was great and thirst quenching!
A quick drink to go for a hot day.
It definitely taste better than Jamba Juice.

Best acai bowls in NYC. The price points for juices, smoothies, and acai bowls are amazing in comparison to neighboring juice bars. The ingredients taste fresh and has revitalized my AM and lunch routine.
If you’re confused about what to get ask the friendly staff or go with my all time favorite of coconut chia acai bowl or the blue royale smoothie — so good!

I had never had an acai bowl and decided that this was my time to try it… right here at Pure Green. Let’s just say after every single bite, I said «WOW, what took me so long?» It was absolutely delicious.
The ‘wake me up’ shot is something I could drink daily. So delicious and refreshing.
Great staff and love the vibe of this place.

The smoothie had a smooth, thick consistency and actually tastes a little like Purple Haze (sativa). The extras were given to me which is always nice, no need to waste.
The place was very clean and had a refreshing atmosphere in addition to great customer service. I would definitely come here again, maybe get the same smoothie.

Their balloons announced today as their grand opening; I had samples of their pure green (normally $ 8.5) and banana nut ($ 8). I preferred the banana nut, which I found thick and creamy, and banana-​y. I found the pure green to taste very green, but if queried I would only have been able to name the banana out of this drink’s extensive ingredient list: kale, spinach, mango, banana, pineapple, coconut water. I also found pure green to be off-​puttingly thick. I’m not used to my green drinks being thick and tasting so strongly of banana.
Honestly, I can’t tell you if this place is any better or worse than liquiteria, juice press, or organic avenue. The prices seem the same. This place also sells a few gluten-​free, sugar-​free baked goods and harbors exactly five stools at their juice bar.
