Publicide is a printing and design company specializing in letterpress and custom offset printing for a wide range of businesses and individuals. Our printing capabilities and industry experience make us a great fit for many types of print jobs, large and small. From postcards and business cards to press kits and product launches; we take as much care in creating 100 wedding invitations as we do in helping our corporate clients with their trade show brochures and conference booklets.

I started Publicide in 2006 and have been working diligently ever since to build a quality-​based print + design company. I live a few blocks from the shop with my boyfriend and dog and like to travel and discover new ways to use print and production technology. Boutique manufacturing is a growing trend and I am proud to support and represent Publicide as an example of a small manufacturing business flourishing in New York City.

Phenomenal! For my new biz I wanted high-​end materials, inks, and edging for all of my print needs and they delivered big time. The design team that helped with choosing the papers, inks, envelope linings — EVERYTHING — is more perfect than I’d envisioned. Chris was great to work with — knowledgeable, flexible, and patient. I work in independent film and have printed at least 20 different full-​size theatrical movie posters with Publicide. Dusty is my go-​to guy there, extremely knowledgeable and personable and always gets the job done, often times ahead of our planned delivery dates. He’s got a great knowledge when it comes to different styles of printing, inks, and paper, and can often work to our «indie film» budgets.
I’ve worked with cheap-​o printers and been ripped off with a stack of terrible, unusable posters and unfriendly customer service. That has not once happened with Publicide, since they put a ton of thought and care into each project I’ve brought to them.
They are always the first folks I talk to when I have a printing project.

We are a new company and had many, many questions about the printing process as we wanted our cards to really reflect who we are and our company personality. We worked with Molly, who was a dream. She spent a lot of time in person going over samples with us and explaining the process and then followed up via email with us and continued to be very responsive when we had further questions.
The printing quality is superb, and I say this with confidence as my mother is in charge of Graphic Services for Ralph Lauren, who agreed. Their prices are competitive and they have excellent taste, thus a unique and very chic array of paper samples and techniques they use to produce modern, sophisticated print statements that really do give you an edge when doing business. Their product is impressive and I would highly recommend them. I’m surprised by these reviews about lack of customer service and can say that we just ordered another batch of cards from them and the process has been very smooth.

I emailed the company to inquire about letter press pricing for our wedding invitations. Bill was the one I was in contact with. I sent him everything we were looking for and he was very response… till the very end. How hard is it to give a potential client an estimate? It’s been nearly a week and no response. I followed up with him a few days after our last contact and no reply. Waiting… waiting…waiting…
I should have checked these Unilocal reviews before I sent them a inquiry. Not going to make that kind of mistake again…

Some of the worst customer service ever. Do not return phone calls and treat your projects like they’re unimportant. Bil was obnoxious. Coverage for a letterpress was inconsistent and I was told that it «was part of the letterpress process and part of its charm»

I got a quote easily enough for new letterhead and business cards from them. The prices were reasonable so took it to the next step, asking for samples of their previous work and sending over our logo and thoughts on the design. Working with Bil, we received samples which were excellent, but he frequently ignored simple questions and continuously tried to side line our design. He began to insist they couldn’t do simple thing like letterpressing a logo. I showed him examples of what we were looking for, things shown on their own site, and he ended up sending a nasty email saying he didn’t want to do business with us. Huh? Well, we don’t want to give you our money either, Bil.

I just had my wedding invitations printed at Publicide. I’ve gotten so many compliments on the quality of the printing since they went out. Nolan was very responsive and easy to work with. Couldn’t be more pleased with the overall experience.

Publicide helped us create one of our favorite things from our wedding… a letterpress announcement complete with custom illustrations. I had met with a few other letterpress studios, but it was Publicide’s casual, yet knowledgeable vibe that made me select them. Weddings are stressful, but working with Nolan and the entire Publicide team was one of the best parts. Nolan was so patient with us as we explained what we were looking for visually. His illustrations were so great and we couldn’t be happier with the final outcome. We had a small run (only 60 announcements) but that was no problem; I’m sure we were one of the smaller clients but they treated us like gold nonetheless. Those lucky 60 people were amazed when they got the announcement… one, that my husband and I got married, and two, with the quality and creativity of the announcement! I recommend Publicide wholeheartedly!

Good quality printing and efficient, however, they gave me a lot of trouble when I opted for digital printing. After seeing the proof, I saw a difference in color/​color shift from one end of the paper to the other end of the paper. When I brought it up, they guaranteed it could be fixed. The issue was not that they couldn’t print the color accurately but that the colors looked different on one end of the paper versus the other end of the same printout. It seemed like a printer issue. After that I got repetitive emails telling me to opt for the more expensive option of offset printing (which I would love if I had the money to do so). After countless emails and mounting frustration, they finally printed it digitally for me again when I said I’d take this project elsewhere to get it printed. But I had to pay to see a second proof even though the first time there were printing errors. The final product came out nice and they packaged it well for me but it was a headache to get to the end point. The frustration must have been mutual because when I contacted them 2 months later for another job, they completely ignored my email. How’s that for service?
Just a note. Look at the reviews. They are either 1 – 2 star ratings with terrible experience or a full 5 star satisfaction. The disparity cannot be by chance.

As a very picky designer; when I searched for a local printing business Publicide certainly didn’t dissapoint. Knowledgable and helpful staff they will deliver exactly what you were envisioning. A little bit pricey but definitely worth it. Will go back for all my printing press needs.

Publicide did an absolutely gorgeous job handling all of my wedding stationery. I am thrilled with not only the results, but every stage and aspect of the project’s development. Publicide listened to my logistical needs and ideas, developed an aesthetic, and translated it into every element of the wedding’s design, from invitations and RSVP cards, to reception menus, programs, table cards, etc. The design was unique and impeccable, the printing was perfect, everything was handled with the utmost professionalism and accuracy. And lightning fast! Though my job was small, Publicide treated me like a VIP client. I recommend whole-​heartedly!
