Amazing store. Great collection of pickles, stuffed olives, crackers, cheese… The food is all super tasty and fresh, and the owner is incredibly helpful and friendly. Can’t recommend this shop more highly!

Great pickles! Got the spicy ones and the horseradish. The hot and spicy were a little too soft, but I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that it was just the batch. The flavor was great.

Was biking by this place and decided to come in for a bite. I got some kind of really yummy salad with lentil balls, even though I didn’t know what they really were. The salad was great! These lentil balls were delicious and it came with corn, sundried tomatoes, and other goodness too. I also got some fresh olives to bring home. I’ll be back!

Others may crave sweets but I crave salty snacks. Pickles and olives make for satisfying low calorie options so I’m in this store pretty often.
Their pickles are fresh with a good snap to them. The sweet horseradish pickles have a nice kick to them that doesn’t preclude me from eating 10 – 15 slices at at time. The olives are intense and a bit briny so they are best paired with neutral foods. I am not able to eat them alone. I found the olives stuffed with capers way to salty, even for me (who gets into fights over adding salt: see my review for Bombay Sandwich Co).
They also have a great selection of salads and parve dips and cold sides making this place vegan friendly. Their parve babaganoush, beets and lentil chickpea balls make for great snacks or a healthy lunch when put together.

Very neat place. Great pickles! I didn’t try the olives (I’m personally not a big fan). You can buy individual pickles for $ 1, you just have to ask.

when you’re just getting one pickle, they literally just hand it to you with a napkin. no frills or extra bs packaging. i like that. I’m trying to eat my pickle, not deal with a bunch of extra crap. Heres your pickle, now get out. love it.

One of the few options available in the neighborhood for those heading to the MMA. The salads are delicious and the pickles are fresh and crunchy.
Could use a few more options of smaller portions (and prices).

This is one of the finest and most unique kosher establishments I ever patronized. The owner, Al, and Eddie, are two of the kindest, most generous men I’ve ever met in the food business, and they offer the best kosher products around! Kosher fresh mozzarella bocconcini, fresh mozzarella sandwiches, the addicting Balkan spread known as Ajvar, blue-​cheese stuffed olives, and kosher Belgioiso mozzarella rgace the menu and shelves, along with glistening and dizzying arrays of housemade pickles, olives, and other specialty, gourmet kosher items. The prices are insanely affordable for kosher mozzarella balls, and the vibe in this small, yet welcoming store, is wholly positive. As a mashgiach, I can attest to the high concern the owners and the rabbinical supervising agency (Rabbi Aaron Mehlman) pay to the kashrut of their ingredients, and one can be assured that they’re getting the best quality kosher items possible here. Their meticulous attention to detail applies even to the vegetables they select for their sandwiches and salads. Wonderful gourmet food served by two lovely gentlemen.

I used to shop at their store in First Ave., and finally made it to their new place on Lexington. Am addicted to the new pickles and half-​sours. Today, discovered my new favorite: the spicy bread and butter pickles. Sooooo delicious; sweet, crunchy, spicy, zingy. In my younger days, I used to eat the Vlasic version by the jarful, but these are a zillion times more fresh, crunchy and natural-​tasting. Left with a pint but already thinking I should have gotten two!

I have been going here for years now, even before they moved, and I have NEVER had a pickle or an olive that is better. The kosher dill pickles are incredible, you won’t find anything better in all of NY, and their olives are fantastic. So many great varieties, I would suggest among many… lemon, garlic and almond. But really you can’t go wrong here that’s why it’s so good. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I’ll easily spend $ 20 – 30 here and never regret it.

This place gets five stars from me even though I’ve never had their pickles and only tried their olives once. This is because their other offerings are totally delicious: their lox salad is so tasty I never want another fish-​y spread besides this one. And just tried their stuffed grape leaves which are terrific too. Plus the guys behind the counter are very friendly.

Visited new store today and was so glad to see Simon — the best pickle man in the world. Check out their web site and ask about Farmer’s Markets where you will see them.

Never made it out to the old location but could not be happier that they moved to the area. To begin with, the two guys who (presumably) own the place are awesome. They let you taste, make recommendations, and will bend over backwards to make sure you end up with exactly what you want.
As for the food — the pickles are perfect (half sours and bread and butter are my favorites) and the olives-​stuffed-​with-​everything-​you-​can-​think-​of are scary addictive.
Been hitting this up on a weekly basis and I recommend anyone else who walks by should as well.

Just as great as the old location but apparently everything is kosher now. I’ve been taking their pickles to holiday parties and they are devoured each and every time. The staff is friendly and help me right away, every time. Highly recommended.

The name of the place is all you need to know.
This is a neighborhood gem that I hope never goes away! Really sucks that they moved farther from our apartment but still close enough to make a quick pickle run. So many delicious pickles, olives, and marinated veggies in place. If you are a pickle fan and live in the Yorkville /​UES area this is a mandatory visit. A must!
I dropped in the other night on the way home from work to pick up some «new pickles» which are my favorite. The guys working there always stuffs full the plastic container with delicious pickles, and the price is right!
The also carry a delicious array of olives stuffed with everything from red pepper to almonds and cheeses, sauerkraut, a variety of flavorful pickles, stuffed grape leaves, tasty baba ghanoush, mushrooms, dried fruit, etc. They even have gift baskets and will ship. You can also catch these guys at select farmers markets which are listed on their website.
I just love the amazing aroma of garlic and vinegar when you walk in here. You can’t help but want to try everything and leave happy with a container full of delicious pickles!

This place is ridiculously delicious! I wish I found it 4 years ago when I moved here. Everything they offer tastes uniquely different. This is not your typical store product where all tastes the same. The grape leaves are the best I’ve ever had, the dill pickles nice and subtle, the butter pickles change the pace with a little sweetness, and the olives — wow — nice flavors, never too soft. Try the cheese stuffed green olives as they offer a nice balance and also, the red pepper stuffed olives which offer a nice, strong roasted pepper taste that I have not experience with stuffed olives. Their lasagne is amazing too! I dare to say that Because I don’t want others to buy it and take it away from me. Lastly, the owner is so sweet and funny; very genuine and honest.

This store is absolutely a total treasure — the best new family run business in the Upper-​East side. Most people love the pickles. As for me the real surprise is the home made Italian food sold by the pound. It is the most delicious food with zesty tomato source made west of Italy. Im really serious and it deserves a perfect score.
Get a mixture of every thing as a sampler… I kid you not — you will not regret it!
One must also try each italian specially bread because it beats out all the bakeries in town.
On the shelves one can find the best-​of-​the best Italian olive oils.
I have not written a comment for years… this family run business is a total treat. I cant wait to see its review in the New York Times in the near future!

Green olives stuffed with lemon.
That’s what I will continuously stuff my face with when I go here, I will fill containers upon containers of these delicious green olives and never get sick of them. Also give me the oldest sour pickles and i’m the happiest camper!
