History

Established in 1996.

Mark McQueen created phoDOG​ra​phy​.com in 1996 for sharing galleries of the dog photos he’d been shooting on the streets of New York and other cities with dog lovers everywhere. The site soon attracted a wide audience, and after receiving many queries, he began offering commissioned portraits. These pet portraits are now Mark’s main focus.

Mark’s dog photos have appeared in many books, cards, calendars and magazines. His stock photography of dogs is represented by Ron Kimball Stock.

Mark has volunteered extensively for Animal Haven, a no-​kill shelter and sanctuary, from which he has also adopted all four of his current pets.

Mark McQueen has been a full-​time freelance commercial photographer in New York since 1986, and a lover of dogs and cats since they were about the same size.

phoDOG​ra​phy​.com appeared in 1996 as a way to share his street photography of dogs with animal lovers everywhere. It soon attracted a wide following, and Mark started receiving queries about commissioned portraits, which are now his main focus.
