Personal Touch Cleaner and Tailor

WARNING: GO ELSEWHERE. The owner Nelson is scandalous. They lost my clothes and blamed me. I talked to my doorman, they do this all the time. I heard they over charge too, read your receipts.

Never go here! It’s expensive with an 11 lb minimum for laundry. That’s like towels and sheets every time you get your laundry done. Plus he charges you for separates whites & darks even if you don’t want that. The guy in charge always does the opposite of what you ask him to do, or he’ll decide to do something and not tell you until you pick it up when it’s too late.
Example 1: I put a pair of black pants in with my laundry that say dry clean only on the label (but trust me, they are from Express and do not need to be dry cleaned). He didn’t wash them with my laundry and it wasn’t until I came to pick it up that he told me they weren’t clean. He never called me to tell me or ask what he should do, he just decided on his own not to wash them. This meant I had to wait for another 11 lbs of laundry to get them washed!
Example 2: I put a pair of red jeans in my wash, they’d been washed a few times before so the color doesn’t run, yet he refused to put them in the dryer and insisted they be hung to dry (again, it wasn’t until I showed up that he showed me the sopping wet jeans hanging to dry). He told me to leave them there and pick up later. A few days go by, I go to pick them up and he tells me, «those weren’t your jeans so we sent them back since someone was looking for red jeans.» I’m going on a week-​long trip on Monday and need them!!! And yes, they were my jeans, I’m 5’0 tall and they were hemmed for me and everything! Why wouldn’t they call me?
WORST EVER. DO NOT GO HERE.

Not going back. Same outsourced cleaners as Mac (I’m assuming so, since it comes back in plastic wrap and smells the same), but it charges an additional $ 2 to use separate washing machines (huh?) even though we brought it in already separated. Basically, it’s a rip off and poor advertising, saying its $.95/​lb, but really it’s $ 12 for the first 10 lbs then an additional 95 cents after lbs PLUS like I said, the $ 2 to «separate» dark from white… even though it all came back folded in mixed up order.
I’m going to check out You’s, which has better reviews. Or stick to Mac, which is where we normally went on W/​4^th.

Marino was bought out by some guy who doesn’t seem to like his customers very much. I’ve seen him be rude to several people over the last few months and today he disrespected me.
He also raised the prices and switched his outsourced dry cleaning to someone who isn’t very good.
After 8 years of being a loyal customer, I am sadly moving on.

Love this place! Nelson is very nice at the front desk, remembers my name, and my clothes have been delivered in great shape. Amazing dry cleaning as well for expensive clothing. I am very Happy.

For the three years I lived in the WV, Personal Touch was my «cheap cleaner» where I took all of the garments that weren’t particularly expensive. Their cleaning was average. Slightly more expensive than a corner place, but really not much better. I paid extra cause it was close and reliable. HOWEVER, a year ago I paid 20 something dollars to have them replace a zipper whose teeth wouldn’t hold on a pair of black pants and those crooks stole my money. When I got the pants back, I checked the zipper and it zipped up and down fine, so I paid and went on my way. I almost NEVER wear nice pants, but a couple months ago, I had a client meeting, so I wore them. On the way there, the zipper gave out — because they’d never replaced it. They simply jimmied it so it was «fixed.» When I schlepped back downtown to ask them to replace it, they accused me of lying and said (this is so hard to believe, but it’s true) «Even if we didn’t replace the zipper, a year has passed. You can’t expect us to do it now after all this time.» To which I replied, yes «I can or you can expect me to Unilocal about it.» And here we are…
