Specialties
With the elegance and sophistication unique to Midtown Manhattan, Pera Mediterranean Brasserie is a fine dining restaurant near Grand Central that refines timeless foods created on the warm shores of the Mediterranean. In our quest to become one of NYC’s best restaurants, Pera doesn’t only offer traditional Mediterranean dishes. Our acclaimed chefs, one American, the other Turkish, collaborate to make foods found nowhere else, crafting a unique Mediterranean cuisine that is the envy of some of the best NYC restaurant chefs. Whatever comes from our kitchen or off our grill, whether marinated, seasoned, braised, or skewered, Pera creates food unmistakable and unforgettable. Customers and critics agree: Pera is truly a NYC experience not to be missed.
History
Established in 2006.
Pera is named after an elegant neighborhood in Istanbul that has for centuries served as a melting pot of culture and cuisine. The idea behind Pera is to break Eastern Mediterranean cuisine out of its ethnic confines, staying true to the authentic recipes and tastes but presenting them in a cosmopolitan setting with top quality and attention to detail in all aspects of a guest’s experience, from welcome to atmosphere to service to music. Pera started as a term project at Harvard Business School in 2004 and opened its doors to guests in 2006.
