Pep Boys Auto Service & Tire

Gave me a 7:30 appointment for a NYS inspection. When I arrived they informed me that the inspector does not arrive until 10:30.

I purchased a new car battery from this location in May. I had foot surgery a few months later & was unable to drive for 5 weeks. After about 4 weeks it occurred to me to start up my car. Of course the battery was dead. I called Pep Boys & spoke with Valerie. After quickly checking her computer system to confirm my purchase date, she told me without hesitation that they would honor the warranty & exchange it for a new battery. I went in the next day & was accommodated quickly & cheerfully. How refreshing!

Formerly Midas, I’ve been taking my cars to Jason and the crew here for years. They are honest, reliable, and will work with you on price. I have never had anything other than excellent service in the 15 years I’ve been using their services.

I will never gonna go back to this sh*tty place. Customer service is joke. I went for oil change and I had nail in my tire I asked them to fix it but you know what they pulled out nail and told me nail was not all the way in and gave me my car back. How stupid and dumb they are. Air was still leaking for my tire. Do thy even know how to work with customer and solve their small issues. Pep boys is a joke. That was my first time visit to pep boys coz I am new to this place and you know what that’s last visit.

I was looking to buy and install a tire pressure monitor sensor for my car. they quoted me a price of $ 130. Their price was by far the most expensive then any other quote I got. They said that I will have to do wheel alignment after installing the sensor. All other tires places I called said it is not needed. So if you like to over pay and get unnecessary work done on your car then you will love them. Other wise stay away or keep shopping.
Mr. Jay from Pep Boys called me and promises some changes in this location, I may give them another try.

I went in to get an oil change and figured I would get my car inspected.
I had a temporary lapse in judgement and let them tell me I needed 1 tire and brakes and rotors. I was told this was needed to pass the safety portion of inspection.
Then…over 2 hours later I was told…
You need a tune up and a few other things totaling an additional $ 600. and change to pass the Emissions portion of the Inspection.
At this point, I KNEW, I was being suckered! They have some nerve!
After telling them to take back the tire and brakes and all because if I am not getting the inspection sticker I don’t want any of this I can’t afford this… they call me back.
Sean tells me…“Today is my Lucky Day, I passed the Inspection without needing the additional $ 600. in work”.
I emailed the corporate office… No Response.
I paid the $ 485.00 for my Oil Change and Inspection and will NEVER go back.
They gave me an Inferior tire. My car now has 3 good tires and one stinker.

They are either understaffed or incredibly slow, or maybe both. I went on a weekday at 1:30pm and waited several hours for an oil change and an inspection. They take appointments but I was told it’s still first come, first serve.

Horrible service, employees & manager have horrible attitudes, & they are incredibly slow. Last visit they told me my brand new tire (purchased there with warranty) did not have a leak in it, after I complained they checked it again & confirmed «no leaks». I then drove a few blocks to a fix-​a-​flat tire shop, where they located & pulled a nail from it. After the service I received when purchasing my new tires, I should have never gone back, but NEVER AGAIN will I patronize this establishment.

Don’t go they will rip you off. Employees have attitude and dont answer questions well. Shame on pep boys for hiring these idiots.

Kevin & Beepat were so incredibly helpful! Very nice and very accommodating! I would highly recommend coming here for any of your auto needs!
