Pediatrics East of New York PC

I just had to leave a review about my great experience with this practice for the last 5 years. Both my boys have been seen by Dr. Gonzalez since they were born at Lenox Hill Hospital. He is amazing at what he does and super caring. My boys feel very comfortable with him. We live in NJ and have made the long trip because we love this office. Everyone is super friendly. Anytime my boys have been sick they make sure they see them that same day. The on-​call doctors always respond quickly with any after hour questions or concerns. I love how they have separate waiting areas depending if your child is well or sick. We recently made the decision to look for something closer to home now that the boys are bigger and we can just hope their new Dr is anywhere as good as Dr Gonzalez! Thank you for 5 years of amazing service to my family!

I frequently have to make appointments here for my employer’s children. Angie, Anya, and everyone else are amazing and always so helpful. The doctors are great too. I have been here probably 50 times with my employer’s kids and never had a bad experience. The office has a small-​town level of care feel, in a big city where it’s difficult sometimes to not just feel like another number.

Amazing practice. This review is long overdue. We didn’t realize how great they were until we moved to another state. Dr Roure is fantastic — super patient, knowledgeable and treats our son so well. Love that they have other doctors on duty if need be. Also like their Saturday policy. We recently moved and had to get our records and got to see the detailed notes — they are organized and on top of things here. And it started from day 1 when I was in the hospital. The hospital thought my son was losing too much weight and wanted to push formula. Dr. Roure said wait and sure enough my son came around. The hospital thought my son had jaundice and went ahead and took his blood without us knowing. That night was a tough one. Dr. Roure thought it was borderline and again said let’s monitor first.

So I just called because my daughter is sick and needs to be seen as a new patient. We haven’t been here very long. The office manager tells me they can’t see her as I have to bring her in for a wellness visit first before they can see her. I’ll have to take her somewhere else and come back when she’s healthy. Or I’ll have to first get her records transferred from her old doctor, who is two hours away and call them back some other time.
So no thanks, I’ll find someplace else altogether. Maybe that’s standard practice and I didn’t know that because we’d been going to the same doctor for years, but I really was surprised they simply turn sick kids down and tell you to go somewhere else.

Dr. Gonzalez is awesome! very attentive and my 2 daughters love him! Would not even try to see another Doctor while I live in NY.

Dr. Gonzalez is a great doctor. I have been a patient of his myself but I am no longer considered Pediatrics, so unfortunately I cannot see him anymore. Dr. Gonzalez is a loving, caring doctor that will take an immense amount of time to explain conditions and listen to your child’s health concerns. Dr. Gonzalez is a wonderful man who really cares for his patients. I recently called the office to ask his reccomendation and he had no problem taking the time to listen to me and ask questions about what was going on with my health. Dr. Gonzalez told me to call him and let him know how everything goes with a surgery I recently had, even though I am no longer his patient. Dr. Gonzalez does a great job explaining things in a comprehendable way. Dr. Gonzalez is very smart and is very knowledgeable. Dr. Gonzalez has put my anxieties at ease and I actually enjoyed going to see him. I completely trust any diagnosis of his.

This is a great pediatric practice on the Upper East Side. So great, in fact, that I’m willing to travel all the way from Park Slope, Brooklyn in order to see our pediatrician, Dr. Flavio Gonzalez. We love Dr. Gonzalez (first met him at Lenox Hill Hospital when my first son was born) and followed him from Gotham Pediatrics to this location. He has great empathy, always takes time to listen and my son absolutely adores him, which makes going to the doctor just that much easier!
One thing that I really love about this practice is that they have drop-​in hours every morning from 830am — 130pm and so if you’re worried about something or your child needs to get some vaccinations or whatever, you just drop by the office and sign up to see the attending doctor. I’ve never had to wait more than 15 or 20 minutes, which is amazing for an unscheduled visit. It’s also given me the opportunity to meet all the doctors. In particular, Dr. Roure was fantastic. Really took the time to set our fears to rest and was very compassionate and helpful.
Another amazing thing — the nurses are great. They draw blood for the annual lead test right here at the office and the results are available within minutes. That is amazing! No trips to outside labs and the doctor delivers your results to you right away! Fantastic.
So, yes, it’s a trek for me, but I am glad to make the trip. Great pediatricians, great staff. A winning combo.
