Papadakis & Gonzalez DDS

I recently moved to the UES and needed a new dentist in my area. I saw them for a cleaning and Dr. Medina for an extraction and bone graft. He was so kind and explained the whole procedure to me making it relatively painless and quick. Their entire office staff, especially Paula the dental asst/​hygienist were amazing and so welcoming. They helped entertain my 9 month old daughter during my cleaning. They even gave her, her own first tooth brush! Highly recommend this practice!

I went to this practice quite a while ago and one of the dentists (not a hygienist) gave me a terrible cleaning. I never went back, and since then they have relentlessly called, emailed and texted me trying to schedule more appointments. I have specifically asked them to STOP contacting me and I won’t. So unprofessional and annoying. I’d think twice before visiting this practice!

I just had my annual cleaning with Cathy — and she was fabulous. She worked so hard on making sure everything was good and I could see she was going beyond to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of — her cleaning was amazing. She gave me tips and suggestions on how to keep my oral care in the best shape. Cathy asked me what music I like and put on a soothing Adele play list which made the appointment much more relaxing. Dr. Medina checked up on me, and he was very kind and to the point and made me feel very much at ease. It’s a very clean space, very nice — they call a lot :) to remind you of your cleanings. Which I like since I forget. Oh — and you get a goodie bag which is appreciated with dental cleaning supplies and chapstick.

Dr. Papadakis was a big disappointment. Charged me $ 5k to do a multi-​root canal on a tooth that broke a year later. Did an implant that fell out within months. My cousin has also poor experiences with this doctor. Just wish I could have gotten my money back, but when I asked he said he would do other work and apply the money … but somehow it would always cost more than I had a credit for so I gave up on him.

I found Dr. Eng at Papadakis & Gonzalez through ZocDoc, and was impressed by the number of good reviews. I completely agree and have always had wonderful experiences at this dental practice! I really like how they do not push any unnecessary services… I pay out-​of-​pocket and the entire staff has been completely helpful and professional in determining what is necessary. Additionally, Dr. Eng is very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. The office is bright and modern. During my cleaning today, I was so relaxed I felt like I was at a spa! So glad I found such a wonderful dentist in the area!

I recently heard of this beautiful office from a coworker so I called to inquire of there services and availability of appointments. The girl who answered the phone, Deirdre, was so sweet and friendly. She answered all my questions so professionally that I was immediately impressed and will definitely be calling when my schedule lightens up at work. I have on other occasions called other dental offices since I am new to the area and was not impressed at all with their customer service. I feel confidant that I will be in good hands at this office.

Dr. Baran is the greatest dentist I’ve ever been to. She took care of a chronic problem efficiently and made my teeth happy.

Today I saw Dr. Brain Eng and I have to say he is by far the best dentist I have ever worked with. I was having my last wisdom tooth removed and he really was extremely gentle (I never even felt the needle for the anesthesia). I felt he was extremely honest, did not rush through the procedure, explained everything to me, and was reassuring throughout the entire process. Most importantly he got the job done! The office staff are amazing. They are genuinely polite, helpful, and above all trustworthy. I would highly recommend Dr. Eng to anyone who is looking for someone who cares about what they are doing.

You walk in from a dimly lit hallway into this bright white, super modern (think moma design store) office. All of the staff are wonderful and Dr. Eng is amazing. He is perfectionistic and gentle, just the way I like my dentist to be. They were amazing about laying out a treatment plan and figuring out everything regarding insurance for me. Everything feels very sterile, yet comfortable, and highly accommodating. Also, they give you a warm towel at the end, just to top it off. Given my tragic dental history (as in every time I go, I’m guaranteed to have recurring appointments for a few months), finding a dentist that makes the experience bearable is highly unusual. This place and Dr. Eng (!!) does just that, and then some.

Dr. Eng, a partner of Drs Gonzalez and Papadakis, has also done some incredible work for my teeth.
I cracked 2 teeth on 2 separate occasions and as Dr. Papadakis was not available either time, I was looked after by Dr. Eng.
What an artist! My teeth didn’t need root canals, just rebuilding and I defy anyone to tell the difference between my real teeth and the reconstruction of the breakage.
Kind, sweet and oh-​so-​gentle with that novocain needle, I highly recommend Dr. Eng for any work needed.

This review is for Dr. Brian Eng. I went after not seeing the dentist for around 4 – 5 years and had a moderate amount of work done totalling around $ 250 after insurance. They were all composite fillings which is great since I don’t have to fill my mouth with even more metal than is already in it from previous encounters. Normally you have to pay 100% of the non-​amalgam filling if it’s on a non-​visible tooth, but here you don’t (depending on your insurance, I had MET Life Dental Insurance)
Luckily I required no major work although one of the cavities were quite deep. After about 2 months there is no residual pain from any of the fillings. He is very skilled with tools and I felt only moderate pain during the fillings procedure (as composites take longer and more skill to apply than amalgam) and virtually no pain with the most recent cleaning I had, even though my gums are somewhat sensitive to the water pik.
He gives me good tips regarding my brushing regimen and ways to improve. Overall I pay attention to my health a lot so this helps, but still I can tell this is a good practice and they care about patient satisfaction. The billing is on point and I have never had to deal with any disputes as of yet.

I am currently doing a full mouth restoration with implants.
As a patient, it is a difficult undertaking to have so much dental work done.
At a time, just the thought about it, can be stressful.
I was referred to Dr. Papadakis by my dentist who said that this work requires a specialist. A dentist specialist normally completed additional education after becoming a dentist.
I find Dr. Papadakis professional, knowledgeable and experienced.
Dr. Papadakis and the supporting staff are dedicated and make the whole stressful experience feel easier than it is.
The office and treatment rooms are clean and appointments are punctual.
It seems to me that the equipment used is in the front line of dental technology.
Crowns are «printed» from zyrchonia and no metal is being used. It feels right. .
It looks natural and solid.
I would certainly recommend Dr. Papadakis for any reconstructive and cosmetic dental work.

I have been going to Dr. Papadakis for the last ten years now after being referred to him by a friend. I have the upmost respect for his expertise in the dental field and how he uses the latest technology. I had a rear molar that fractured and had to be extracted. He installed an implant that has been fantastic! If you’re looking for a new dentist, I strongly recommend Dr. Zachary Papadakis. He takes his time, and shows genuine interest in me and my teeth.

I have finally had enough…
In January I had a dental emergency. I found this practice through a search of my insurance providers. They were really friendly and accommodated my schedule.
The office is clean, modern and bright and equipped with the newest dental tools, which I liked. I was given an exam and a full set of digital x-​rays. I was told that I needed 5 root canals including the tooth with the emergency. While only ever having one root canal before, I was a bit surprised about the need but turning 50 can do things like that, I thought.
The costs of my emergency care was discussed in detail including the amount that the insurance company would pay. I signed off and paid the difference, approximately $ 800.
During the clinical encounters, I spent almost three hours in the chair during one session, the longest dental encounter in my life. After the work on the initial teeth was complete, I still had moderate pain. After a follow up visits and x-​ray I was told all was well even though I continued to have pain. I was also told to have the other 4 root canals fixed. I left a bit skeptical but with a wait and see attitude.
My insurance did infact pay exactly what was expected but I am now told that they didn’t calculate the charges correctly and that I owe additional money. When I reviewed that we went over this in detail, the insurance did in fact pay what was expected so that I should not owe any additional funds. They could not provide any answer other than I still owed about $ 400. At this point I made my first request to speak to someone with ownership interest in the practice and was told they would get back to me.
During the next 3 months I have been contacted three different times, all on a recall basis to sell me the rest of the care that they determined that I needed. When I asked to speak to someone in ownership I was told three additional times that someone would get back to me.
Now 5 months out I am trying to get to the bottom of all this and initiated a call to speak to someone with ownership (my fifth attempt). This morning I was told that someone would call backing within an hour, and this afternoon, Kim informed me that no one would be calling me back and I could speak to her but not to anyone in ownership or senior management. So things are still up in the air but I am not happy with the clinical work, financial dealings or the administration of this practice.
