The food here was good… but not worth the price. This place is definitely a tourist trap. I ordered the shrimp and was brought a half-eaten one. I dont know who ate it or why it was brought out to me… but at that point I knew that this was going to be the first and last time for me at Pacific Grill

This restaurant has amazing food, specifically seafood of course they’re located by the water. Their view is amazing you get to see all of the boats coming in and out of port, the historic part of the seaport, the cobble stones, tour guides, tourists, and other amazing restaurants.

I came here for their infamous drink, the Miami Vice. It is basically a slurpee with vodka in it. I even ordered the extra shot. It was good but it could be stronger. Somethings I saw that I just happened to be around. Kids running amuck around the bar like they just came from an AYCE candy binge from Dylan’s Candy shop. Creepers on deck eyeing potentially drunk girls ready for that pounce. Even more so, potential child molesters roaming around. It was quite warm and I’m sure the heat brings out the creeps. Drinks were flowing every which way. Imagine a Mcdonald’s private play area but outdoors w/adult drinks in hand. No thanks. The preview was enough.

***Do Not Eat Here*** This place is horrible. Ordered the Shrimp cocktail and it was still frozen. How can a resteraunt serve fozen shrimp. Ordered crab cakes they tasted so bad(imitation crab cakes). The service was horrible. The hostess could not handle seating people and managing the line at the front. The owners are clueless!!! This same resteraunt is in San Francisco, which is great. Fly to San Francisco if you want the real experience of seafood for Pacific Grill.

A great place to people watch at Pier 17 at South Street Seaport. But this is not a great place for food. We came on a Friday night, and there was no wait. They also had no lid cup for water for kids. We ordered the clam chowder, the salmon sandwich, and the spaghetti off of the kids menu for the baby. The food was SIMPLYNOTGOOD– clam chowder was too salty, the salmon sandwich was not good, and the spaghetti was just awful. We probably won’t come back — for the view, we could just buy dinner and sit on the benches, instead of paying too much for very bad food.

Food IDK… what NY’er heads to the Seaport for a A+ meal??? I came strictly for pregame drinks. Hot, sunny, summer afternoon and $ 6 mixed drinks or frozen drinks… score! Cash only at one of the bars…$ 20 goes a long way. Sit, people watch, laugh a bit, take a few pictures enjoy the weather and then move on to your REAL destination.

This place is really bad. The worst thing is that they don’t care. The people that work there do not know what good service is. The food is mostly frozen, or packaged. They don’t seem to make anything fresh. The shrimp were served soggy due to the fact that they just finished de thawing them out. The grilled chicken salad did have fresh spinach in it but the cranberries where packed, the glazed walnuts where packaged and the chicken was dry and tasted like cardboard, horrible! They are 4 small pieces of ahi tuna in the tuna salad and it was served with olives in the salad, who serves olives with tuna… yuck! Not worth the money!!! Dont bother avoid it all together in fact avoid the South Sea Port Village all together is is a tourist trap!

Came here twice for drinks and appetizers. Love the appetizer sampler they have, you can share it or make a meal out of it since it’s pretty filling. Since it is at the seaport it gets a bet crowded at times, but it’s nice for a fun evening date by the water. The horn of the water taxi’s can get a bit annoying but that’s the boardwalk for you… what can you do?.

Why is this place even taking up space on the Seaport? I mean I understand where tourist venture there will be over priced food but can it at the least be edible? The first time i came here I ordered some sort of spring roll dish. It came with a whole plate of these fried things. I bite into one, still frozen in the middle… gross. I tell the server and they say they will microwave them or fry them up more. No thanks. I made the mistake of giving it another chance because I wanted to sit down for one of the frozen drinks. If you sit the drink is $ 9 instead of $ 5. whatever. We order crab cakes(why did I do that???) and jumbo shrimp cocktail. These dark brown fried to a hard crisp discs come out. So gross I try and yuck! Also a plate of watery regular shrimp. Half way OK when dipped on the sauce. Total bill with tip like $ 60… Felt stupid the rest of the day

Wasn’t impressed at all. Pretty much a tourist trap along the water at south street seaport. They pride themselves as a seafood spot but all the seafood I saw looked canned, smelled weird, and did not seem to be enjoyed by anyone who was eating it. In fact I witnessed more people having food/service issues at this place then at any other establishment I have been to in a while, and we were only there 1.5 hours. I know its the city but this place was CRAZY expensive. I had an ahi tuna salad with 5 peices of BAD ahi for $ 18+? Give me a break. Drinks were over priced also, so we just stuck with water. Waitress was nice enough if not completely overwhelmed by the surrounding. They certainly pack them in here. Stay away.

My introduction to this place was extremely poor it’s laughable. I went for Chicago UNOS not because the food is great but because it is good enough and I love the water view while eating. They closed down apparently… pour some liquor. My friend and I decided to just eat somewhere and the requirement was the water so we walked downstairs to here. While still on the borderline of deciding to eat here a fight broke out. A girl accused another of hitting on her boyfriend or something stupid and the alleged homewrecker threw a drink on her and all hell! Security came and the soggy girlfriend was made to leave clearly as the super sloshed one. «Soooo…let’s eat? YEA!» Are seats had to be wiped down due to wetness from the thrown drinks incident. Other than that, smooth sailing. The prices are insane so we just got 2 appetizers and 2 drinks. The drinks here are strong, well mixed and big which seems like it fit the general crowd. Even though the menu was expansive the prices are not justifable so come for pre-whatever drinks or to just enjoy the water and some light appetizers. Calamari was pretty good. Service was on point.

The ambience was none. The food was greatly overpriced. Lukewarm lobster bisque with no hint of lobster, stale bread and dried out chicken on my sandwich. One of my companions asked if they could please put the pickle and the honey mustard dressing on the side. The waiter assured us — no problem. But, when it came the pickle was underneath her French fries, which were now tainted by pickle juice. If you hate pickles and specifically ask to not have them on the plate — then c’mon — how hard it is to hold the pickle. And when she looked into her sandwich there was the mustard spread — again, c’mon. The prices were out of sight high as well which made the whole experience even more frustrating. There was another room next to the one we were seated in that looked out over the water and had a much nicer look and feel. We asked if we could move into that room but our waiter told us without checking with anyone that all the tables were filled and it would be a wait. I would definitely give that room a try. The ambience may kind of make up for the food quality.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We were visiting from FL in April 2012, my best friend ordered ribs which was more sauce than anything else(disgusting tasting sauce too). The ribs were cold and hard. The service was terrible as well. Sadly, when we mentioned all this to our server, it was overlooked. He simply took our plates and gave us the bill which by the way… was RIDICULOUS. Overpriced, disgusting food. We felt like we were taken for fools. DONOT eat here; you’re better off at Johnny Rockets(or anywhere else on the Pier).

$ 5 mixed girly drinks like Strawberry Daquiris, Margaritas and more? You know I’m down! The inside of this place is a little dated. They have one of those lobster tanks that I would have found fascinating as a 4-year old… But as a 24-year old… the lobsters look kind of sad… and maybe dead? Are they moving? What’s going on here?! Sit outside, drink cheap drinks. Eat beforehand.

This place should get zero stars. I too got sucked into this sucky hole while enjoying the waterfront. As others have said, bisque was weird… I think I got a glob of flour or corn starch in mine, along with one pea-sized lump of lobster. We both ordered the fish and chips at $ 18, and got three smallish pieces of Gorton’s battered fish. Just gross. The tartar sauce was even unappealing. The service was ok. Waitress did refill my soda a couple of times, at $ 3 each time. $ 9 for flat soda. OH, all the lobsters in their tank were DEAD. But they were having a special on them if you dared eat one out of their bacteria filled tank o’scum water. Bön Appetite suckers, you have been warned! 2 bowls of generic bisque 2 orders of Gorton’s fish(probably actually generic, not Gorton’s) 5 sodas _____________ $ 76 with tip Eat at the food trucks out front for a fraction of the money and get better food. Y. U. C. K!!! Effin nasty! One positive: I didn’t get food poisoning here.

If I could describe this restaurant in 5 words it would be: stuck in the ‘90s tourist trap (ok, that was 6 words) Locals should never come here because this seafood restaurant is incomparable to other places only New Yorkers eat at. I was here solely because it was convenient for my mom and I after taking a nice stroll around the seaport, and it had a nice view. Sequoia next door was also closed so we opted for Pacific Grill over the other restaurants around the water. Was it a bad decision? Not necessarily. The food was nothing special but I don’t see how anyone would want to come back specifically for it. The quality of the food here is similar to a chain but is more expensive than it should be. I had the lobster bisque and it tasted like it came out of a campbell’s can. It was alright, certainly not worth $ 8. My mom had the grilled tiger shrimp which was actually pretty good and flavorful. Super overpriced at $ 29, and most plates are similar in cost. Food priced so high should not be served at a restaurant that still has upholstery from the early ‘90s. The booths here were quite uncomfortable, with seat backs that were so unsturdy, you and the person behind you will be constantly moving it back and forth if you keep leaning back — which is the point of a seat back if I’m not mistaken. Super tacky interior & nothing says«New York» about this restaurant at all, so I actually feel bad for tourists that come here thinking they’re eating real NY seafood. Please…

It was good, nothing great. Food was fine. I like the view and I guess that’s what you pay for. Plus, pitcher of red sangria was delicious… I think they forgot to add the alcohol, but delicious.

Had a great lunch here while touring NYC. It was a hot day but the patio was nice and cool and the view of harbor and downtown is amazing. Although since it is very close to the harbor, there is a lot of people and the water taxi honks occasionally which is quite loud. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Sandwich and it was delicious. The size was generous and I feel it was good value. My friends ordered the Turkey Sandwich and Alfredo pasta and they all enjoyed the food as well. The service was great. We were in a hurry to finish our lunch to get back to our tour group, so they hurried our orders and the food arrived quite fast.

It was a gorgeous Saturday morning, and after a helicopter ride over Manhattan, a friend of mine and I decided to venture over to South Street Seaport to find some food to satisfy the appetite we built flying over the city. Life is tough you know! Once we got there, we browsed through our options, but once we saw that Pacific Grill serves oysters on the half shell, we were convinced. So we decided to sit outside to enjoy the weather, and do some people watching(wow, I am amazed at how many Chinese tourists there are these days!). Once seated, I ordered a mimosa, to wash down a plate of deep fried sampler(mozzarella, calamari, coconut shrimp, egg rolls, onion rings, and wings). That, and a dozen raw oysters. The sampler… it was ok. I’ve had better. Not bad, but not the greatest. But then again, anything deep fried is ok by my books. The oysters, on the other hand, were plump, juicy, fresh and very nice sized. A bit of lemon and tabasco sauce and I was very happy. Definitely check this place out duing the summer time and sit outside weather permitting. Nothing like enjoying great weather on the coast of Manhattan… on a pier, of course!
