I am a Marine… just putting that out there because we generally do not express ourselves with flowers, or words… or any form of emotion. Strong silent types… that’s us.
I am sitting in California and I find out that some classmates are doing a two-​person show (really a one-​person show and the other friend is playing the piano as an accompanist) in just a day or two… I promise that I am going to have something there to congratulate them… and then I, of course, space out for a day or two…
Now it is approximately 5 hours before the event… and I am scrambling… can’t let them down… called like 5 places… and got the «we don’t do that», «we don’t have anything like that», «we are all out» and my favorite «I’ve heard this company can do that for you… but you’ll have to find them yourself online. CLICK.» So, I get the run around for about an hour and a half… and then I get in touch with Frank from Ovando NY… and suddenly the dark clouds parted and I knew I was in good hands.
Friendly, proactive, communicative… yep… all of the above. Jumped on the mission with the same attention to detail, enthusiasm and care that I expect from only my fellow Marines.
I could go into detail. like how I just told him what colors that I wanted… and he created an award winning bouquet… or that I had a short note that I wrote that he was able to get incorporated into the bouquet flawlessly… or that within two hours, the two had already posted pictures of themselves with the bouquet on Facebook with a huge gushing thank you note for the lovely bouquet and note… but all of those details are just an average day in the life of this phenomenal florist…
I can’t tell you how much I appreciated his flawless efforts and the experience that he was responsible for crafting from thousands of miles away… it means the world to me to know that I have someone I that I have never met that does beautiful work that makes that much of a difference to the people I wanted to share esteem with.
This is the florist you want in your corner. This is the shop that turns ordinary days into memorable occasions. Bravo Frank!!! You are my hero!

Ugh I like the flowers, but the prices here are just so outrageous that its hard to recommend it.
That said, if you don’t care about price, and want extremely nice arrangements and a high-​service experience, this is the place for you in the West Village.

I never leave reviews but I have to for this company because I am so impressed. I purchased one of the orchid arrangements for a boss after much resistance to the price (they are $ 200 plus with tax and delivery). It came on time and as beautiful as the picture. I came back to the office two weeks later and it was still alive and looked exactly the same as when it was delivered!!! Part of the reason is after inspecting I found that the orchids were not just flowers placed but a full branch that it bent over top. Well worth the money! A+++++

I can’t speak to the prices or customer service, but we’ve received two arrangements from Ovando at my office and both were very nice. The look is very modern and graphic – especially the vases and the way they cover the stems with grass. Both times the arrangements lasted for at least a week.

What more do I need to say ??? The best arrangement ~ the best quality ~ the best service ~ it makes me so happy to send flowers to my clients and friends (hint hint) and they love the arrangements every time.

Ovando was absolutely spectacular. The quality of their flowers is great but I am writing this review to commend them on their service.
I work in show business and placed an order for a very high-​profile shoot. The flowers were for a diva’s dressing area and I went into Ovando myself to place the order. The business owner/​operator was incredibly kind and gave us a great rate on three arrangements which, admittedly, were still quite pricey. They also delivered the flowers at 7 AM, four hours before they even opened. When the delivery arrived, there was an issue with it. I was, at first, a bit frustrated, a healthy mix of production stress and actual annoyance, but it was hard to be too mad. Their work was so flawless. At 7 AM, I called Fleurette, who had told me to call if there was any issue. She was cheerful and helpful on the phone and quickly started making calls. Within thirty minutes, I got a call from the business owner who told me she was en route to us to fix the order. She brought me one of their absolutely candles as a thank you gift, totally undeserved, and rearranged the flowers herself. She truly exemplified the sort of thoughtful and patient service that, so often, you just don’t get anymore. Kudos to Ovando for an superb product, amazing customer service and running a lovely small business. I plan on using them for all flower needs hereon out!

Not the least expensive florist in NYC but certainly one of the best. I’ve been using Ovando for years to provide gifts, thank you’s, condolences, congratulations, et al and have always received rave positive feedback. Also have found customer service to be very attentive during the few occasions that something has gone wrong.

The orchid arrangement looked beautiful on the first day. Terribly wilted by day 3. Their response: «The cold winter weather and the shock of the warm environment the flowers are placed in shorten the lifespan of any flower.» «Unfortunately since you did receive the order on Monday, our guarantee is was valid till Wednesday.»
For over $ 200, I expected more…

This small boutique holds some of the coolest floral designs I’ve witnessed. You know this place is legit when almost every person stops right in front of the store to take a instagram photo and #ovando. The store itself is pretty small but the arrangements and and cacti are all real. The price range is pretty expensive for real flowers that last a couple days but I think it;s worth it if you like it.

I just ordered the «Sleeping Beauty» from their Signature Collection for my wife today for our anniversary and I must say I’m disappointed. The turnout of the flowers and the whole package were not the same or closely assembling the picture on their website! I can understand if it varies slightly different. Long story short, they didn’t deliver what they advertised.

Bad customer service. I ordered 3 arrangements that I can only believe were delivered. However, when I tried to get a receipt for my purchase, I was «disconnected» more than once, left an unanswered message, and received a general attitude of unwillingness to help. I do not recommend using them solely from this standpoint.

So let me get this out of the way, I have nothing negative to say about the flower arrangements. They are always beautiful, that is if you are lucky enough to get them, because they are overpriced and you don’t want to by them for yourself. I have bought flowers from Ovando for valentines day probably 5 times, of which my wife actually only received the flowers three times. Why is that? Because this place is run like a disorganized mess at best.
Three years ago the flowers never arrived even though I followed up with them numerous times during the day. My wife was disappointed to say the least, but I forgave them and actually was stupid enough to use them again this year. Guess what the flowers didn’t show up again. This time I also called and followed up numerous times, and I actually thought I had it under control. First they told me that the flowers would be at my wife’s office within the hour that was at 2:00 pm, then after speaking to them three times, they told me at 5 o’clock they would send the flowers to my house. When I got home at 8 o’clock guess what no flowers, and disappointed wife. When I called them, they apologized and told me that they would cancel the order. Thanks that’s great customer service, here is a hint maybe offer a discount on the flowers and still send them to the customer, that is one way to keep your customers from walking away for good. I assume the flowers are being dumped in the garbage anyway. Well its too late to lecture them on how to run a business, maybe they can buy a book to help them with that. I think the how to run a business for dummies would work best. Bottom line I am never using Ovando again.

I always dislike writing a bad review, but it is unfortunate when florists take advantage of customers by using less expensive flowers when more expensive ones were paid for.
For my birthday, my parents sent me a bouquet of flowers, which I took a picture of and emailed to them to say thank you. Immediately thereafter my mother called and asked whether there were any orchids in the bouquet because she didn’t see any in the photo.
The bouquet was put together beautifully, but it was 95% colored carnations– there were about 3 – 4 purple orchid flowers in the whole arrangement. My mother, who lives out of state, was upset because she paid $ 175 for a «bouquet of orchids» only to have a bunch of colored carnations delivered. Needless to say we won’t be using Ovando in the future.

Ovando did the flowers for our wedding at the end of March. We choose them because we loved the flowers in their retail store — and were willing to pay top dollar to get the same for our wedding. That proved to be the wrong move. Not only were there flowers expensive to begin with, when we went back for our sample closer to the wedding they tried to upsell us more than 50% more than our original quote. We were taken aback and was not the first time in the process that we had communication issues with them.
But we were willing to deal with some of the back office challenges IF the flowers on the day of the wedding were amazing. But they weren’t close to that. Our Chupah was smaller than what we were promised, and some of the other centerpieces underwhelmed too but the worst problem was the white cherry blossoms started dying. In fact, we had to have them come back and add new ones to our Chupah before the ceremony — which fortunately they did. But the centerpieces suffered from the same problem of dying in the middle of the party — and that was coupled with the sloppy glue work which made the vase look cheap and unprofessional.
I brought all of this up to them after the event and offered to show them pictures, but the response I got showed their lack of concern.
I would not recommend Ovando for your special event.

Ovando is the best florist in the states, hands down.
Every time I send flowers from Ovando, the recipient is absolutely floored by the beautiful, creative arrangements as well as the stunning delivery presentation, and hooked for life. If you are looking to impress a wife/​girlfriend, client or important person, Ovando will surely do the trick.
Even myself, a customer of over six years, am consistently impressed by the beauty of the arrangements which I receive and send. Not to mention that, in all this time, there was only one, small «snafu» for which the company literally bent over backwards and went above and beyond my wildest expectations in rectifying the situation. This type of customer appreciation is rare these days and only increased my estimation of Ovando.

My boyfriend surprised me with a delivery of a gorgeous orchid duo arrangement to my office. The arrangement was beautiful — so unique and gorgeous as they bloomed.
However, they didn’t give me the correct care instructions for the orchid. The instructions were for regular flowers. This was not super problematic as I called and someone emailed me instructions right away. However, the orchid died after its month of blooming and the leaves died, too. I’m not really sure what happened, but for the leaves to completely die is a little unusual. I stopped by in person for some advice (I live nearby) and the salesperson couldn’t provide any further care instruction. I don’t think it will rebloom but I’ll hold out hope. Very pretty, anyway!

Trendy flower shop in the West Village with stunning, modern, and dramatic flowers. This is definitely not your grandmother’s 1−800-Flowers shop. It’s a boutique with an eye for minimalist, colorful, and inventive arrangements.
Only complaint I have is that I went in on a Sunday morning and the flowers were droopy. I had a housewarming to go to and by the time I arrived with the flowers in the afternoon they were looking a little sad. For the price, I should have gotten super fresh and vibrant flowers.

Pretty little shop of cut flowers and potted plants. The window display is nearly a tourist attraction with a rotating display of apartment sized flora. Worth walking in to check out the unique cut flowers.

Drop-​dead gorgeous, bright, fresh flowers. I was lucky enough to score a Groupon to Ovando and cashed it in for a beautiiful orchid plant (that I’m justifiably scared I will kill) and a $ 20 bouquet filled with fragrant hot pink and purple flowers. Sometimes I forget that bodega flowers are nice, but nice flowers are better.
