These people are the absolute worst at what they do. Everyone I encountered with this management «team» is completely incapable of fulfilling their job descriptions.
From the second we moved in, we were given crap from them. We had the required first month, deposit and broker’s fee. They wanted an additional month from us because we were young. That’s ridiculous. We flat out refused and told our real estate agent from Bohemia. Luckily we got through without it.
The building remained pretty dirty after the winter months died down, and it looked like no attention was paid to it. The super, Jose, was nowhere to be found the entire time. Once when we tried to get Uzi, the landlord, to come help us get to the roof to fix our internet, he blew us off twice. Then during a time we finally got him to commit, he was late. When we called, he said we never scheduled the time, which we did, and then once he arrived, he told us he’d never respond to our phone calls again. This man we were paying thousands of dollars to every month flat out refused to ever help us again.
Another incident: We got an eviction notice one month, saying we hadn’t paid over $ 2000 in rent. Well, according to my bank account, I’d been paying and sending them money the entire time. I don’t know who lost it, the USPS or the office, but we were harassed by Uzi constantly. We had spoken to Maricela often, but there is no communication between her and the owner. Luckily, USPS gave us the money and we paid them. A month later, we receive a court summons. We paid, what was the deal? The office NEVER GAVE UZI THE MONEY. They just forgot. Insane.
They had no respect for any of the tenants, mainly because everyone in the building was awful, disrespectful and downright disgusting. Domestic violence, smoking in the stairwell, really uncivilized and awful behavior. But did they care? Absolutely not.
They contacted us TWO WEEKS before the end of our lease to renew. Not only was I laughing about this, I said absolutely not. I’d never live in that awful excuse of a building again. I got a call today, ten days after my lease ended, asking when I was moving out. I told them TWO WEEKS before the lease ended I was moving out the end of the month. Seriously? Seriously.
Just don’t. Period. Stay FAR away from these people. They are not capable of doing their jobs, and you will suffer.

This is definitely the worst management company out there. My boyfriend and I worked with Bohemia Realty earlier this year to rent an apartment that this company manages at 1 East 124^th St, Apt 22. It became very clear early on that drugs were actively being dealt out of the basement. We would come home from work and there would be a line of people outside of the basement door ready with cash in hand. Neither Peter or Uzi, the guys involved in «managing» the building, care about the tenants, their safety or comfort. The worst part about this building is that in the dead of winter, the heat AND hot water would go out for DAYS at a time. Once, we had to stay in a hotel room so that we could shower for work in the morning and not escape the apartment for a place with heat.
I see now that this apartment is being listed by Bond Realty now, but I imagine it’s only a matter of time until some poor soul signs a rental contract and ends it early.
This management company is involved with «Michael Burke LLC» but I’m pretty sure Uzi is behind this LLC.

Orion Investment Group is the WORST property management company I have ever dealt with in all of my renting history. Whenever there’s an issue with my apartment or building, I’m told that I’m the only one having the problem and that I should just let it go. I’ve spoken to several other tenants in the building and they’ve confirmed complaints about the same issues. We are all told that we’re alone in our complaints. The owners only care about money, and don’t show any respect for the tenants which they «support.»
In 2011 through the winter of 2012, the building had no heat through the entire season. Tenants were told to get a space heater. In late 2012, the building’s boiler was replaced as soon as the weather began to get cold, and it continuously shuts off without notice. There’s no communication to the tenants about building issues until well after it has been a collective complaint, and management is unresponsive about complaints unless it makes them dip into any of their funds.
If you’re thinking of signing a lease in Manhattan, check on the management company first. If it’s Orion Investment Group, I would STRONGLY encourage you to think twice about it.
