NYC Locksmith

I think the issue here is that NYC Locksmith seems to have a number of different Unilocal pages since they send locksmiths out from just in the area as I guess a contract type of situation, and this is the ONLY one with good reviews, god knows how from my experience.
As if I’m not already in a shitty place getting locked out of my apartment in the cold with a dead phone, they made this the worst experience of my life. Luckily my neighbor was home and called a couple of locksmith places on Unilocal for me to get quotes. The first place quoted about $ 100 – 120, which seemed reasonable, as I know this is expensive, but we called other places just to check.
NYC Locksmith quoted me $ 25 for the locksmith to travel to my apartment, and then $ 29 for the lock to be opened, since I do NOT have a deadbolt, and just needed to get into the apartment door, not the main door. I knew that, in reality, I would probably get marked up a little bit, as most places are scams and quote a little under. Boy was I in for a surprise!
The one thing I will say is that the guy got there really quickly, considering it was about 10PM ish, so they ARE ²⁴⁄₇. That is basically the ONLY good thing that happened. He shows up and tells me that it is actually going to be $ 165 for the lock (WOW, what a jump from $ 29! Not even just jumping to like $ 90 or something from there? But instead SIX times the amount???). After arguing for a bit I realize that most other locksmith places are not ²⁴⁄₇ and reluctantly agree to pay. He made it sound like this was TOTAL but in fact did not include his $ 25 fee for coming out there. Not the worst part, though. He proceeds to DESTROY my lock with a drill even though I know for a fact that you can pick it without a drill. He did NOT ever at any point ask me «is it okay for me to destroy your lock? please note you will have to pay for a new lock.» But, alas, after completely disfiguring it, he looks at me and goes «okay, you’re in.»
I legit just stared at this guy like are you serious??? I can’t use this door anymore! Are you saying fixing my door is not included in the price??? Of course it isn’t! Who am I kidding! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. I would have never agreed to it if I knew he would purposely and unnecessarily destroy my lock and then charge me for a new one. I would have slept at a friends house and called a different company in the morning. But no, no warning, no prior knowledge of this extra charge, obviously I can’t just have a wide open door to live in, he must realize that, and should tell me that this is going to happen beforehand.
In the end, I spent $ 280 (bill was $ 275 but surprise surprise only takes cash and doesn’t have any change, because obviously I must just have $ 300 in cold cash laying around, and ATMs only dispense twenties, so just took my $ 280, as if $ 5 is really going to make a difference at this point). Almost three hundred fucking dollars (Excuse my language, I am poor and this was an incredibly upsetting experience) just to get into my own apartment, which I could have broken into better to be quite honest.
TOTAL RIP OFF AND SCAM, AVOID. If you find yourself at an odd hour needing a ²⁴⁄₇ locksmith, do yourself a favor and just sleep somewhere else, and call a decent place in the morning.

I was recently dog sitting for an old friend of mine in Central Harlem.
You need three separate keys to get into his top floor apartment.
Everything went well until one morning I was half asleep and the dog ran out of the front door towards the exit.
The door slammed and I didn’t have keys to get back in.
I went to the front door and propped it open and luckily found the super who lives across the street.
He called NYC Locksmiths for me.
The locksmith arrived in about a half hour which was sooner than I expected.
He was personable and the charge was reasonable.
I would recommend this company of you are ever locked out of your apartment which I hope to never be again!

They came quickly and fixed the lock correctly. They tried to get me interested in replacing more than I needed which would have cost me almost double. When I said no I don’t want the other thing they wanted to give me a lower price. Still I didn’t want that, so we went with just what I needed.

Came across this wonderful locksmith place after a mishap happened with our car. I had gone out with some friends and didn’t realize that we had left our keys in the car. Went away to do whatever we had to do and when we came back, it hit us that «Opps, the keys in the car and we’re outside…». So naturally, the natural thing to do was try to resolve this by seeing if there were any locksmiths nearby. We went on Unilocal and found NYC Locksmith. Immediately, after calling them, they came within half an hour from where they were with all the necessary tools. The locksmith man was very professional and worked swiftly. He was polite, friendly, and very easy to talk to! He got the job done in such a short time that we were so thankful, as it was quite cold outside (as you can imagine). The price is also very reasonable considering the circumstances. Although I hope I never have to be locked out of anything again, if worst does come to worst, I know which locksmiths I will be ringing up! Two thumbs up!

Fastest Locksmith service that I’ve ever used. I own a lot of rental properties as well as a studio in manhattan my husband runs. My husband always misplaces his keys, i am glad these guys re so reasonable as they are called quite often. I needed a locksmith to open the doors to one of my rentals and decided to call these guys. The locksmith came fast, in about 35 minutes and opened the doors like magic. I recommend these guys and will be using their services again!

NYC Locksmith really helped me out when I needed it. I remember when I locked my keys in my car and had already lost the spare car key. I was surprised how fast the lock technician arrived and unlocked my car. The technician was easy to talk to and did not make me feel like a complete idiot for my mistake. I hope I never need NYC locksmith again but I know I am in good hands if I do.

We were traveling thru NYC and decieded to get lunch. When we got back to the truck I was in a hurry and when turning the key in the door lock I broke off the key in the door lock. I only had the one key on me so I started to get worried. I searched and found NYC Locksmiths was close, so I called. They were very fast coming out and they had the truck open and we were on our way. The price was very reasonable and I would recommend this company to everyone, thanks guys.

My experience with this company was actually when visiting my friend in NY and we locked the keys in the rental car. We called NYC locksmith and they showed up in less than 30 minutes. Opened the car after we verified that it was actually my rental. They didn’t charge any extra fees. The price i was quoted was the price I payed. They saved the day for sure.

I was in NY on a business trip and what do you think happened. I got locked out of the car I rented. I was freaking out to say the least. I called NYC Locksmith and they rushed right over and had me back in my rental within minutes. I owe these guys so much. I wasn’t even late to my meeting.
I would highly recommend you give these guys a call. They come extremely quickly and they get the job done lightning fast. I’m so glad I called them and I’m going to recommend them to all my family and friends.

I was more than satisfied with NYC locksmith. I have used them for a few services. The first was when I locked my keys in my car… Which I have done countless times. They arrived very quickly! The lock technician was extremely courtesy and knowledgable. He helped unlock my car in no time.
The second time I used their services was when I needed the locks in my home changed. The price is on par if not better than other locksmiths in the area. The technicians were very respectful of my home and made sure I was satisfied before leaving. Not to mention all the locks were changed very quickly! I will definitely be using NYC Locksmith exclusively from now on! They turn an unpleasant experience into a pleasant one. Thank you!
