NY Bone and Joint Specialists

Fantastic doctors and the rest of the staff is awesome, whether you are in the office or one of the outpatient surgery centers. I never had to wait for an appointment and when my pain was severe they figured out how to see me and schedule my procedure the next day. I feel like I am getting great care. Love them.

The service is phenomenal. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They are there to help you all the way through your journey. Dr. Shrikande is very sweet and knowledgeable. She informs you of all the options that are available for your treatment. This is a doctor you can trust and you can see she really cares for your well being. What make this office amazing is that you can get any question answer at any time. Lets say that you have a concern of any kind and the doctor isn’t available the staff doesn’t hesitate to shoot the dr. An email which gets answer the same day. Not in every office you get service like this. I’m very happy and satisfied with the service I’m receiving. When you are here you are family.

In course of my treatment, I have dealt with each doctor there, many of the staff and several of the physical therapy specialists. At each step, the doctor and/​or staff involved took the time to discuss treatment options, potential downfalls and things to watch out for; I could not be more pleased with my treatment or the practice.
Two months out from surgery, I am doing great, thanks in large part to the treatment received at NY Bone & Joint.

The entire staff is so helpful. From the front desk to the, physican assistant, Physical therapy staff to the Doctor. Everyone made me feel like I was important. They really care about you as a person. Great experience.

I had a great experience on my first visit this past Thursday to the NY Bone and Joint Specialists. Although I haven’t met Dr. Popovitz yet because he was on vacation, I had the pleasure of meeting Physician Assistant Keppel who was very informative and helpful to my needs. She advised me on what my next steps should be for my meniscus knee therapy. I appreciate her concern for my well being and I am looking forward to visiting the office again in a month and meeting Dr. Popovitz. The front office staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Great doctor and assistants, good care and follow up after surgery. Overall, one to recommend.

I had shoulder surgery in October 2014 by DR. Popowitz. I have spent the better part of 4 months going to NewYork Bone and Joint for physical therapy.
I can’t say enough about my experience. Dr. P was nothing short of awesome. I had complete confidence in him going into the surgery and would recommend him to anyone. A true professional and clearly extremely talented.
My physical therapy has been equally wonderful. The staff is friendly, clearly all of them are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their work. No matter who is on duty on the various days I go, each one of them knows exactly where I am on my program and it is completely seamless to me as far as who I see at each appointment.
They help me push my limits to ensure I make a complete recovery. They won’t let me slack on any exercise!
The front desk people are very friendly and make sure my appointments are on time and any billing issues are properly attended to.
It is my pleasure to recommend doctor Popowitz and the entire staff here. It’s been a very good experience for me.

Don’t go they say that they take your insurance even though they don’t. They flat out lie and then send you a 500.00 bill. Don’t trust them.

I called for an appointment with Dr. Shrikhande and was told she doesn’t see for the back. I was told I had to see Dr. Mizhiritsky instead. During the time when the appointment was arranged, I stressed to the young lady I wanted to see Dr. Shrikhande because she had wonderful reviews on Unilocal.I asked her if Dr. Mizhiritsky too had wonderful reviews and she did not respond, which made me concerned.
I then read everyone’s Unilocal reviews. Not only were there reviews on how Dr. Shrikhande treated people so well for their back, but it also seemed that when I called requesting to meet with a Dr. with wonderful reviews, their appointment staff had instead passed me onto to a Dr. with horrible reviews thereby giving me selective and poor customer service. Was Dr. Shrikhande too booked to take on another customer? Could I not be on a waiting list? And did she know that people who sought her out were being referred to another Dr. It also seemed my needs as a potential customer were not of their concern but to pass me to any Dr. they saw fit in order to squeeze in yet another appointment for the practice.
Then, I put a comment on Unilocal,thanking everyone for their comments; because of them, I had canceled the appointment I didn’t wish to have with Dr. Mizhiritsky in the first place but their office had pushed upon me and thereby saving me a big headache. Suddenly, their office was willing to have me see either Dr.‘s.

This is an excellent center for total orthopedic and physical therapy care. Drs. Michael Mizhiritsky and Leon Popovitz are the best. Cecelia is an incredible therapist. Amazing care.

Dr Mizhiritsky barely even looked at me, and right-​away recommended physical therapy. I have been to see him 3 times so far and I still have no idea what is the long term prognosis of my condition, since he just tells me to come back for more therapy and that he will evaluate me again later to see how I am progressing.
However, the physical therapy sessions are a joke. As a previous reviewer said, they are really just a 5 min massage, followed by very simple exercises that anyone can do at home by themselves. Not just that, but if you are out-​of-​network then those 50 min physical therapy sessions cost over $ 200! The staff is really nice though, but I am going to find another orthopedist.

Terrible. Don’t go here especially for physical therapy. The «physical therapist» does a 5 – 10 minute mediocre (at best) massage then sits in front of their computer for the rest of your 50 minute appointment chatting with their colleague. An «assistant physical therapist» will then watch you do the same exercises for every single appointment. Its repetitive and monotonous. Also they cram about 6 other patients in the physical therapy room at one time with the same one «assistant physical therapist» «helping» everyone at once. Its a tiny room!!! Why am I shelling out $ 400 on the same exercise I do at home for each appointment in a crammed room. Its ridiculous. There are tons of other better and real physical therapists in NYC. DON’T GO HERE! The receptionists are nice though.
