Nima Dayani, DDS

I went to Dr. Dayani after receiving a diagnosis from an endodontist that I needed a root canal. Although I had confidence in my endodontist, I wanted to get a second opinion.
Dr. Dayana’s office fit me into his crowded schedule for an immediate appointment, which I greatly appreciated. Upon arrival, the onboarding process was swift and professional.
Dr. Dayani did a thorough examination. He confirmed the original diagnosis in a clear and concise manner.
I had the root canal done by my original endodontist, but I would not hesitate to use Dr. Dayani in the future or to recommend him to others.

It was my first visit to Dr. Dayani. The whole staff was great. Dr. Dayani is kind and expert. I would highly recommend him.

Long wait even with the appointment scheduled. I waited around 45 minutes to finally see the doctor. That is why I took one star away. Other than that it was a very good visit.
This practice looks nice and new. A lot of equipment and tv screens with HBO and Amazon prime (didn’t get to use them but that’s what was shown on the tv)
Dr Dayani seems very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained what options I had. Would definitely come again if I need another root canal treatment.

I found Dr. Dayani after a lot of research through my insurance company. There are many scary doctors out there and after reading the reviews I decided to go with Dr. Dayani, which was a great decision. You cannot mess around with teeth, and this day in age, you really have to fight for good medical care. Dr. Dayani is a nice guy and a great doctor. He is very professional and so is his assistant John and Elizabeth at the front desk. The office is very clean and nice, with a modern design.
I had an abcessed tooth that I failed to self diagnose until it was too late. I thought I was having a migraine or grinding my teeth at night, but it turned out to be an abcessed tooth. So, it was a bit of an urgent situation but they were able to get me in and begin the root canal on the tooth that day. I am pretty sure my tooth was about as bad as it gets, but Dr. Dayani was positive and said it was «treatable.»
Over 3 trips total, I was treated for the abcessed tooth with the root canal treatment. The first trip we did the x-​rays to diagnose, removed the crown and cleaned out of the infection. I went back on the 2^nd visit after a few days of letting the tooth heal (with the help of oral anti-​biotic treatment). On this trip, Dr. Dayani was pleased with the progress of the tooth and was able to put the medicine in the tooth. It was still pretty infected so he didn’t seal it yet. I like this doctor because he cares about my comfort and said he could seal it but that I would be very uncomfortable if he did.
The third trip was today, and he was pleased with the continued recovery of the tooth. He sealed the tooth put a temporary filling and referred me to a dentist. My tooth has shifted and my crown doesn’t fit anymore, but that is not Dr. Dayani’s fault, just the way the tooth healed, because the infection I had was so bad, the tooth itself was unstable in the bone. Dr. Dayani referred me to a dentist who he said could probably adjust and fit the crown. He also did a final X ray to check the progress vs. the first x ray.
Why am I going into all this detail? Because even through reading the reviews I had no idea what to expect from a root canal. It is not a pleasant process but the team at Advanced Endodontics of NYC made it a better process for me. They were also cognizant if they were running late, and called ahead and told me to stay at work for an hour, so I didn’t have to miss work, or sit in their office. That being said if you did have to sit there, you have lots of magazines to read and they play pleasant classical music.
Lastly, he is thorough with the follow up and wants me to go back there in 6 months for a follow up x-​ray. I appreciate that kind of service to see me through the process.

Best dental experience of my life, hands down. Dr. Dayani himself is kind and really takes the time to explain everything and answer questions; when I called the office at 6am after my root canal and left a message he called me back in less than 10 minutes, no lie. The procedure itself was almost 100% painless… if there is such a thing as a «good» root canal experience, this was it. The rest of the staff that I had interactions with is so pleasant and treated me like a person, not a numbered patient. The office is immaculate and they play very soothing music the whole time. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Dayani to anyone.

Real bad experience with this guy. The price I wound up paying was twice as much as he estimated. And he waited till after I was numbed up to tell me I had to pay in full that day. He constantly called me on my cell phone and even bothered my wife at work for payment. I really regret going to him.

While still having a hard time finding a general dentist I can trust (that takes my insurance), I’m happy to have at least found a great Endodontist. He did a great job of showing me on the x rays and proving to me (tapped on tooth to show sensitivity I may not have otherwise noticed) that I did indeed need a root canal even though I’ve had a cleaning/​exam every 6 months. Yes, it came as a surprise. He answered all of my questions in a calm manner. The root canal was painless! Thank goodness. He and his assistant did a good job of pacifying my nerves. Hopefully I won’t need another, but if I do, I know where to go. The facility is clean and nice (cherry on top) and the receptionist was the most helpful. Now time to find a good dentist…

My procedure was on Friday July 31^st. I wanted to wait and submit a review once I was absolutely sure the procedure was a success. I called and set up the appointment after a general DDS and my own dentist from my hometown recommended a root canal. My close friend is a general dentist and he highly recommended an endodontist perform the procedure. Because of its complex nature and possibility that a general dentist may take more than one session to finish the process, I listened. I searched for the best endodontist in Manhattan and immediately found Dr. Dayani. After visiting his informative website that had video of the root canal procedure I decided he was right for me. His office is immaculate, the staff young and friendly. the Doctor saw me for the first time, took x-​rays, and performed a four canal root canal in under 3 hours. After the procedure I was completely pain free and by that evening eating regular food. I had a question regarding the temporary filling and Dr. Diyani personally called me back as soon as he received the message.
This process completely took the pain out of a root canal. I was horrified to be honest but during and after I had no pain at all.
Dr. Diyani is a great endodontist please visit him for your root canal procedure.

I highly recommend Dr Dayani if you need a root canal. Dr Dayani is actually out of network for me but my dentist wanted me to go to him since he is highly experienced in root canals. I’m not skilled enough to know exactly what separates a good endodontist from an ok or great one, but I can tell you it was painless, the x-​ray (after it was done) looked good (he explained everything before and after in detail), and he seemed really experienced and at ease while he was doing it. He is also very transparent with all charges and letting you know your copay before the procedure. Was also very patient and thorough with answering my questions.

First impression: Long wait time despite having a confirmed appointment booked far in advance. No sense of urgency from the receptionist/​patient-​coordinator who could not give a concise, transparent answer about insurance coverage and process. Naturally, I was annoyed.
Edit: Fortunately, once I got through the door the experience got much better. Dr. Nima was very thorough and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain all of the available options as well the associated risks and costs. He did not rush through the conversations or the examination procedures. He did not cut any corner. As a patient, I appreciated that.

Dr Dayani is a great endodontist. His professional mannerism and clear directions helped me trust the process and calmed my nerves as he worked on a previously treated root canal that had a broken instrument inside. The tooth was infected and I was worried about the pain but I had none during the procedure. His prices are expensive but the treatment and the state-​of-​the-​art equipment in his office makes it worthwhile to pay the bill. Everyone in his team is extremely helpful and polite. I highly recommend him.

I was referred to Dr. Dayani by a family friend’s dentist. The consult and root canal procedure were scheduled back to back, and I was happy with how the procedure went. He’s a great doctor and he did an awesome job at keeping me pain-​free the whole time. My tooth had been in extreme pain from cold liquids for a few months, and I was glad to go to him to get things straightened out.
My only complaint was that the procedure was very expensive. I am a recent college graduate working and living in NYC, and my family’s dental plan that I’m on only covers about half the cost. So I wish the office had told me up front what the cost was going to be like so I could have maybe worked out a lower cost or payment plan option.

I could not be more thankful that my husband found Dr. Dayani while I was going through the worst pain of my life. When I called him early Saturday morning I was stunned that he:
1. Answered his own phone.
2. Offered to come into the city that afternoon.
In addition to addressing the sad state of my teeth, he got to the root (no pun intended, but why not!) of the problem that got me to this point. It turns out that I’m one of those people who, for whatever mysterious reason, is really hard to anesthetize. Until two weeks ago, I thought everyone felt pain at the dentist’s office!
Dr. Dayani is a healer as well as a gifted doctor. Many, many thanks.

I called the office as an emergency patient this morning. The office asked me a few questions and assured me I could be taken care of right away. I had been seen a few days earlier by my regular dentist whom couldn’t do anything other than give me Advil.
I am so thankful for the professionalism and TLC from this office.

Root canals get such a bad rap. Going to the dentist isn’t my forte in life, and like with other things that are good-​for-​you but hard to do, in year 2014 I aimed to find a new dentist I love, along with a root canal specialist I REALLY LOVE, so that I could be EXCITED to see them. I now have a housecleaner, a bookkeeper, an accountant, a dermatologist, etc. I’ve become a veritable grown-​up.
With Freelancer’s Union Insurance, the search was tough. I posted on Facebook and 20-​some people recommended various dental offices, most of which do not take my limited HMO options.
So I was so happy when my primary dentist Dr. Seguritan kindly referred me to Dr. Dayani to go into a tooth that I’d neglected for over a year (the filling fell out). Dr. Dayani is it! Is it possible to get a root canal that felt like a break in the middle of my workday? I had a nice nap. And they were so accommodating to my irrational fear that led to me being super late for my appointments several times. He worked with me and said: Let’s start today and if we don’t finish, at least you’ll be half over; we’ll see if the next patient arrives on-​time. The next patient ended up coming late, and he was able to finish the root canal in one trip, no problem. What a dream. Thank you Dr. Dayani!

I needed a root canal, and was so relieved to end up at this place. He calmed my frayed nerves and the procedure was painless. I would recommend Dr. Nima to anyone.

It was a very bad week for me, and on top of that realizing that I must have root canal done — did not make it better. I spent a few hours browsing dentists online, and called a few. Three of them did not accept insurances, did not have availability — and I did not want to spend the holiday with pain… To my HuGe surprise, when I called the number given for Dr. Dayani at 8:20am, my phone call was accepted by a live person. And after explaining my problem, I was even told that I can come in the same day… guess what??? it was Dr. Dayani himself who picked up the phone. That immediately made me feel that doctor is a person who really takes his work seriously and is there for his patients, around the clock.
I was supposed to come around 3pm but was notified that something opened up earlier — boy, was I happy to hear that.
The office is beautiful — new location, spacious, super spotless clean — I always pay attention to things like that. Dr. Dayani’s assistants and front desk people are amazing — very polite, answer all questions, very helpful and soft-​spoken — and truly are one team with doc.
Loved the fact that you can look outside the window while being treated — very relaxing (it snowed), and of course, the choice of music (Chopin was playing while my root canal was done) is lovely — makes you feel very peaceful and relaxed.
Dr. Dayani is very professional but had very warm personality. He really knows his stuff very well. I asked million questions, and all of them were answered not only by doctor himself, but also his assistants.
As I mentioned, at my first appointment, I had x-​rays done, consultation and we confirmed that I indeed had to do root canal and then when I came back, the procedure was done in less than in hour — honestly, it felt like 20 minutes.
No pain at all, no discomfort, Dr. Dayani was making sure all the time that I am feeling OK.
I felt very safe and it does not happen often for me when you kind of forced to pick a doctor randomly in a short time and not sure what to expect. I am very happy I picked Dr. Dayani.
I know most people are wondering about fees — and im not exception. Yes, his fees are probably not for everyone, $ 1,600 for a molar root canal — probably, you can find it cheaper somewhere else. If this amount scares you away as soon as you hear it — you most likely are like me — but I did not have time to choose. I felt that in my situation, it was worth it — I got exceptional treatment and was cared for the same day I called for the appointment (day before Thanksgiving). But if you can afford it — go to Dr. Dayani — you will be happy at the end, I promise.

First off, finding out that you have a root canal is not great… Then, getting the horrified cringe looks from some of my colleagues as to why I needed to leave work early to get this procedure done was, needless to say, not very comforting.
I would like to start in complementing in exceptional service at the front desk — from booking an appointment to walking out of the office — the customer service is superb.
I was refereed by Dr. Manea on a Friday night after 6pm when I was done with my regular dental appointment– she said, «Dr. Dayani is the best» — took her word and went along with it. I called the Dayani’s office and left a voicemail, and sure enough Dr. Dayani contacted me on a Friday night after hearing my message, and said he would see me on Monday.
As I entered the office on Monday afternoon, I was extremely nervous, and he assured me this will hurt no less than getting a cavity filled. (I thought getting a cavity filled was worse than this procedure). He made sure I was pain free, and comfortable at all times. Dr. Dayani is an outstanding Endodontist, and such a humble — great person. He really does go above and beyond. I was explained everything that he was going to be doing, and he has excellent communication during the procedure.
I was on the chair for over an hour and half — and he is not cheap (he does not accept my insurance), but was willing to work with what I had. I took a Tylenol at his office, and have had not one ounce of discomfort or pain in the days following.
HIGHLY recommended for any oral surgical needs.

I have complicated teeth. Consequently, I found myself in the unfortunate position of needing two root canals. My insurance is not the most stellar and I had had complete nightmare experiences with three other offices; so bad I walked out!
Finding Dr Dayani literally saved my sanity. His professionalism is top notch, his new offices are very comfortable and stylish. His bedside manner is considerate, professional and through. This man has excellent skills. Procedures were done quickly and efficiently. I was shocked how little pain there was both during and after the procedure.
I would recommend Dr Dayani without reservation to anyone needing serious dental procedures.
