Nassau Street Dental

I have been coming to Nassau Street Dental for many years. I am confident that I am in the best of hands with Dr. Hashim. Their dental hygienist is awesome and my teeth are super clean afterwards.

This place is WONDERFUL. My appointment was exactly on time. The office is clean and the location is convenient. Most important, I went in with a serious dental-​phobia, and everyone I interacted with — from staff to hygienist to dentist — were very receptive and worked diligently to put me at ease. I have a long history of jaw and tooth pain during dental visits, and the dental hygienist (Allison) was incredibly gentle and patient. She explained everything she was doing as she did it, she was attentive to my comfort-​level, and her general demeanor was extremely calming. My experience was totally PAIN FREE… and I don’t say that as an easy patient. Moreover, when they made a recommendation for additional care, they offered to reach out to my insurance company on my behalf to explain why the treatment was recommended to help make sure I am covered. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

I’ve been going to Nassau Street Dental for a few years but it’s only been recently that I’ve had any contact with the office manager Daralynn. She is so terrific. I had a regularly scheduled appt for cleaning and checkup when I started having a pain that I thought was root canal. I called and spoke to Daralynn. She was so reassuring, told me not to panic, and when I came for my appt the next day, she introduced herself to me, and listened to my history in case there was a future problem. Steve, the hygienist was wonderful as usual and so was the dentist, Dr. Schoenberg. The pain became active again a few days later. I phone Daralynn. She made an emergency appt for me and told me what OTC medication to take in the meantime. She is helpful, considerate, and generous with her time. Thank you Daralynn.

Staff is disrespectful. I will not go back there again for the unpolished, thorny and aggressive attitude that I have to endure as I just don’t need it.
The call which I initiated for the purpose of my implant concern became one of the staff members’ argument from ignorance by calling me out for not paying the balance in full as they would transfer the payment to collection agency soon and they have been billing me for six months without receiving payment from me. I was caught off guard with the information she was telling me.
Throughout the conversation she stated several thorny remarks such as «I am speaking English if you are not understanding». I requested to speak to my dentist but she refused to provide me any of his contact information and told me to write to her email instead since she stated «I’m the boss».
After 30 minutes of conversation ended, I went back into the bank statement and found out that indeed I paid in full. I called the dental associate again to tell her that and she told me she would get back to me upon investigation. Afterward, she did not call me back so I called the third time to confirm the settlement of the issue and the call was picked up by another person and told me that they found out that the balance was paid full half year ago. From the fact that she did not tell me this herself and did not call me back as promised, she did not own up to her blatant comments made against Nassau Dental’s patients.
I am displeased with this General dentistry for its below par credibility staff member.
If you want to streamline your life and deal with courteous and NICE people, find another dental association to work with.

I started going to this office years ago and they did a lot of my bridge work and a successful root canal. Then a year ago things started to shift. The dentist became very pushy when offering cosmetic dental work and even laughed at me when I asked for the cheaper alternative. Even with all of this I continued going. One day I scheduled a cleaning and there was a huge delay with the trains. I called the office informing them while I was on the train and they seemed very understanding until I arrived 15 mins after my scheduled appointment. The unprofessional, miserable troll of a woman at the front desk was bothered and told me I wouldn’t be seen. I pleaded and was turned down. I get they have a schedule but this is an office that has had me wait over an hour because the dentist is behind and on another occasion they waited until I arrived to tell me that the dentists didn’t show up to work. I moved on to a better dentist with a friendly staff!

Overall I enjoyed my experience at Nassau Dental. The wait was a lot longer than I expected (I had a 2pm appointment and didn’t get started with my cleaning until about 2:30) but the staff was very good at giving my updates, asking if I would be ok with work, willing to reschedule if needed and provide doctor’s notes in case I got questions, etc. Once I was seated, it was great to see that each little cleaning room was very clean. Alison my hygienist was extremely professional, thorough and very skilled. I hadn’t had my teeth cleaned in over 2 years (I know… bad Dianne). But she did a good job being gentle while thorough in all the parts in my mouth that warranted it. What did sour my experience the most is the fact that their computer systems malfunctioned quite a bit that day. I needed new e-​rays done since it had been quite a while. At least twice the image was lost between taking it and registering on the computer. I had my x-​rays redone I think 3 times. By the 3^rd time, the doctor came in to apologize and give me a quick chat about any potential perils of having x-​rays done that many times in one sitting. Still she was nice, polite, professional and very apologetic. I wouldn’t mind coming back here again — will definitely see Alison the hygienist, and hopefully, next time, their x-​rays and computers will be fully functional again.

I’ve been coming here for last 5 years. Well run office. Clean. Prompt. Steven has been a hygienist primarily for my son. He’s cleaned my teeth a few times as well. I’m taking the time to write this review because Steven did an amazing job cleaning my teeth… I did not wince once. I’m used to hygienists getting in there and ripping between the teeth with those tools but he had a very gentle and careful touch and took his time. You can tell he cares about the work that he does. Overall, a great practice.

Lol. Interesting that you reply to my response months later. Shows how much you care about your business. Furthermore you’re a liar because I came on the date I was given and you claimed you sent a text that was never received on this end. Your receptionist was an ignorant, incompetent rude female who looks like she only wants the job for a paycheck. I’m grateful I found a dental office who has great customer service and I do not have to deal with your bs. And embarrassed? No, I was livid at your receptionist for being rude and for having a major attitude.

I’ve been to other dental offices around this area and so far this one is the worst. I don’t have anything against the dentist, since I didn’t even get a chance to see him. I made an appointment at 12. I got there early because I know I need to fill out paperworks since it’s the first visit. A lady took a copy of my dental card and tried to verify my plan. She spent some time on the phone and told me that she can’t verify my plan. I was upset since I am pretty sure that I have an inforce dental plan. So I also called insurance company and they were able to verify my plan. After telling the lady that I got my insurance company on the phone and they were able to verify the plan. I even gave her the number that she should call. (Obviously she didn’t call the number on my insurance card. Instead, she just called the general number for guardian dental. I am a guardian employee, so we have a special number to call and that number is on the front of my dental plan card.) She gave me an impatient look and told me that even if she was able to verify my plan that the dentist probably doesn’t have time to see me today. At that time it’s 12:15 and she told me that the dentist doesn’t have time. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT!!. That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Again, this review is not about the dentist. It’s about the service that they provide and the promise they keep. if they can’t verify the plan at the moment, they should try harder or they should at least offer some alternative solutions. I don’t mind giving them my credit card info to work as an assurance for them. If they can’t find a plan, they can alway bill me. I am a professional who works in financial district. They gave me the feeling that I was trying to get a free dental cleaning and sneak away. I also have very busy schedule and I tried very hard to put the dental appointment in my schedule.

I have been going to Nassau dental over 10 years & have gotten great care every time the blonde office mgr. daralynn is extremely nice & helpful & good worker… dr. hashim has done mostly all my dental work & dr. alina lane has done root canal & surgery on me she is excellent, young, pretty & very capable of doing any dental procedure… steven smith is a great hygienist i highly recommend him for cleanings he is excellent… I am surprised at the negative comments because I never had any negative issues. highly recommend this dental office. The most honest dentists I have ever dealt with. Dr Patel Dr lane and Steven the hygienist have hands of gold. Daralynn who runs the business office is honest helpful and very easy to communicate with. Even though it is a bit of a trip for me I am so satisfied with the excellent care I would recommend Nassau dental to anyone who wants honest wonderful care. The receptionist are also kind and patient

The doctors are great! Especially Dr Cruz; never have I been so comfortable during my dental operations. Whether it be a root canal or a wisdom tooth pulling, I never have to think twice about which doctor to call. However, I rate them a 4 out of 5 because the receptionist on the second floor, other than Camille, sometimes seem visibly irritated, and you will most likely not get a welcoming attitude. Besides that, The dental assistants and hygenists are extremely friendly and enthusiastic, giving you a great customer to worker experience.

Well, I have to agree with Mara, since I saw the same hygienist there. Everybody else is just fine and helpful and very efficient. Michelle is very high-​strung and nervous. She definitely made an already high anxiety (I’ve never really enjoyed going to the dentist) visit even more so. She snapped at me when I asked her a question and was just as curt to the technician who took my xrays. The cleaning she gave me was rushed and not thorough at all. She seemed to want the appointment to end quickly. The dentist told me that I seem to take good care of my teeth so I’ll just continue doing what I’m doing and forgo the dental cleaning visits. The rest of the staff rocks!

I’m really impressed with this dental office. I found everyone to be friendly and helpful. The doctors ran on-​time, and the care provided was excellent.
I will be returning in a few weeks to fix a crown, so will update accordingly.
But as now, I highly recommend these guys.
The offices are not fancy, but the care is top-​notch!

After years of paying outrageous dental fees, I decided to finally try a dentist on my insurance plan. The very thought of this made me extremely nervous. A few co-​workers recommended Dr. Hashim and I made an appointment. What a pleasant surprise! Although his office is not «upscale,» it is clean and professionally run. I was so happy with the care I received there that I brought my 9 year old son. The hygienist was wonderful with him as was Dr. Hashim. I’m happy I found a great dentist who still takes insurance!

BEST DENTAL PLACE EVER!!! Dr. Cruz my dentist, Nicole the receptionist, Claudia who took my x-​rays and Christina my hygienist. .AMAZING. I am scared of dentists and they made me feel like a million bucks!!! Come here. It is worth it!!!

I been coming for a few years. There’s alway a minimal wait time, thorough and friendly docs and hygienist. Very clean and updated equipment. they also send text reminders. I have recommended to colleagues who are equally as happy.

Took me with an hour’s notice (I was in pain with fractured tooth). Dr. Patel was fantastic; so gentle and warm. Great experience. Thanks!

I love this place. I’ve been coming here for over 7 years. The office staff is friendly, and I love that I never have to wait more than 10 minutes. They have TVs in each room and usually have a movie playing so that you can watch something while you’re being worked on. I’ve never felt rushed and believe it or not, I usually look forward to going to the dentist. It’s relaxing (I’ve only had cleanings, no major procedure) and I love leaving with super clean teeth!

I wish I could give less than 1 star. What an awful experience. I just went in for a cleaning. I spend more time brushing my own teeth than the hygienist spent «cleaning» mine. I was so horrified. She MAYBE spent ten minutes. I feel like she was trying to go on her lunch break or something.
The office was incredibly unprofessional. The entire time I was in the exam room I had to listen to the staff gabbing outside the door. It was incredibly annoying.
I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Hashim, as he had come recommended to me, and was told just before the dentist came in «oh, he doesn’t work on Weds» like this should have been obvious to me— even though they booked the appointment.
