This place was amazing until the new owners came in a few months back. Now they can’t make a decent sandwich to save their lives & they jacked up the prices on top of it! Not fit to have the Nadals name!

They take special orders without blinking an eye and their prices are very reasonable. The counter guy was very nice, service was fast, and the results were delish. I gobbled down my breakfast roll while sitting on a bench in the middle of Broadway because it smelled too good to wait to get home.

This place is my neighborhood go to for a quick deli sandwich or breakfast sandwich, chips or a bottled beverage. They are quick and cheap. They are using Boars Head deli meat, which is my preference. The food area appears to be very clean and well maintained. Although, I am not sure if there is a health grade in the window, I appreciate that the cooks always have on gloves, a hat and an apron on. So far I have been helped by three different cooks, two I recognize from the Nadal at 137th and one I don’t recognize. All were efficient and polite. I prefer this one over the one at 137th for sure! Glad they are up near my apartment!

Recently bought by new owners, DOWNHILL! So sad to see one of your favorite places be bought and changed for the worse. The service has become terrible, skipping people in line, giving preference to people who order in spanish. Im done with nadal.

The hot sandwiches are consistently delicious and they have a great variety. All of the pre-made types of chicken are great. The guy who makes them is super friendly and will help you out if you are having trouble making a decision. I go here all the time

This place is leagues above any of the other local bodegas. Their halal food options are great, and they do delivery to the local area. I highly recommend these guys. They’re clean, tasty, and quick.

And yet another example of why I’m not suited to live in New York. Don’t understand a sandwich place that gets to berate customers for being too slow to order or when the guy taking the order gets it wrong it’s the customer’s fault! The guys making the sandwiches already have the advantage because they’re standing a couple feet above and looking down at you the customer. And the shortness and sarcasm with the PAYING public was not because the place was crowded nor were the orders complicated. It was just a power trip soup nazi kind of thing. But like Jerry Seinfeld I had to go back, if only for bemusement at this sociological experience! Took the husband just so he could bear witness to this New York phenomenon we saw repeated from upper to lower Manhattan during our recent week in the city. Sandwich, salad, and bagel were just OK btw.

So, I just moved in above Nadal 2. This place is great! Their sandwiches are pretty good and the prices are awesome. They have a pretty good selection if sandwiches. They are very large and filling. The roll size are mostly between $ 4 – 5 and that includes a can of soda. The hero size looks much bigger and for only $.50 to $ 1.00 more! I have a pretty good appetite and the roll size is usually enough to fill me up. Two people could probably split a hero. They also have an excellent selection of beers, fruit juices, any other kinds of drinks you can think of and snacks. To top it off, they are open 24⁄7 so I can get any of this at any time! This will definitely be a go to place for me!

Nadals(2) off 147th and Broadway seemed like a Nice place, until I saw their customer service was lousy. Very Rude and most of the time, the men behind the counter are on the phone chatting away. When you ask a question you get the feeling that you are bothering them. The last time I attempted to do business I ordered two sandwiches, that were delivered cold,(bacon, egg & cheese), and were incorrect. After I got dressed, I returned the sandwiches, they wanted to charge me extra to remake the correct sandwiches. As I was protesting, the man at the counter simply handed me my five dollars back without any apologies. I will never ever set foot at any of there locations!

…its a deli, one of at least three owned by the same individual. The place is clean, well stocked, and the staff pleasant. I wouldn’t hesitate to walk in there and place an order at any time of the day.

If you can handle walking a block further to go somewhere else that is cleaner and has better customer service, do it. It usually pains me to go to this place, but it’s convenient because it’s on the way home from the subway. I simply cannot go there anymore, after a string of bad experiences. My first issue is that I’ve been sold sour milk here, twice. The first time was last March. I bought a gallon, and I always pull from the back of the fridge. The milk had an expiration date that was a week later. That night, I opened it, and it didn’t quite smell right. I thought maybe it was just me, so I ignored it. By the following evening, it was already sour. It’s milk, it happens, but I wanted to let them know so they are aware they might be selling sour milk to others. So, I took the milk and simply told them what happened. I did not ask for a refund. I just so happened to be speaking to the manager. He immediately got defensive and just kept saying, «There’s nothing I can do. It was yesterday. Nothing I can do.» while rolling his eyes at me. I was dumbfounded, so I just left the milk on the counter and left. The same thing happened again a couple weeks ago. I took the milk back, explained that it was sour, talked to the same manager, and he started to yell at me. I couldn’t believe it. My second issue is that the prices fluctuate so often, which is strange. I always get the same salad, and sometimes I’ll pick up OJ. The price on both of these items goes up or down by a full $ 2 every time I go, which makes me feel like I’m being ripped off. I’m tempted to report them to both the Health Department and the Better Business Bureau. I just can’t go there anymore, and I can’t hold my tongue because I don’t want others to go through these hassles.

I love Nadal’s! They have an enormous selection of stuff, everything from typical sandwiches, deli meat, Sudafed, Raid, fresh fruit, lotto tickets… and it’s all fresh, clean, and organized. This is the cleanest place to get food within a ten block radius. The guys who work the night shift are hilarious… they have a great memory for faces, and pretty much instantly start up running jokes and funny rapport with the clientele… when they can tell I’m tired, they always ask«Here or To-Go?» when I’m paying… throws my sleepy brain for a loop basically every time, and we all get a laugh. Sandwiches are good– go for the hoagie, for a dollar more, you get a MASSIVE sandwich. Turkey Club, Pastrami, and Grilled Cheese+Avocado are great, plus the guy making magic at the grill is constantly offering his suggestions to «make this sandwich awesome” — turkey bacon, extra onions, a little mayo, etc. **They might not tell you, but if you get a sandwich, you automatically get a can of soda as well… the first few times, I unknowingly bought a bottle, until one day the owner realized, felt bad, and gave me a «credit» of a few free cans… he always remembers! I know it’s a cheap throw-in, but it’s a cut above the other ghetto a** places in this area** One final thing that makes it awesome– they are ALWAYSOPEN, and they deliver anything in the store… they have definitely brought us Sudafed, beer, and fries in the same order. In other words… go Nadal! This deli certainly deserves 5 stars, and is «as good as it gets» in NYC.

I feel like this place surprised everyone — including myself — by being the neatest, cleanest, cheapest deli in the neighborhood. The employees are very nice at all hours of the day and night. And? IT’S ALWAYSOPEN. If the other Unilocalers’ reviews of the sandwiches/deli counter weren’t good enough to make you stop in(and let me mention that they really know their way around a roast beef & provolone sandwich), consider their well-stocked selection of sodas, juice, beer(!), pints of ice cream, fruit, pastries, candy, & all those random single-serving things you’d expect to find in a corner store. For instance, once I needed Sudafed at 3am after waking with a terrible sinus headache. Nadal 2 the Rescue!

I love the inside, but it really just depends when you go to the place. The prices change with whoever is working at the time. Things can jump up tp 2 dollars more with the same items. Its alittle annoying and they arent exactly the friendliest guys. There is only one guy I like at the deli stand, curly brown hair. Hes funny and nice and actually makes the sandwich the way you ordered it instead of slopping some shit together that you didnt ask for like the other guys. Also it can get alittle crazy with customers, you never know whats gonna happen in that store. It is altitle aimed for lower class people I must say.

The nadal 2 deli is a typical hoodlum stop spot. too many low class people frequent that place, they seem to cater to that element. i must say that their nadal 3 deli is a quiet spot and friendly. stay away from that hood spot.

Place couldn’t be any better. Open 24/7, with hot and cold sandwiches pumped out constantly. Super inexpensive for the sandos and they also have a great beer selection. Best deli around.

So, much like the other reviews for this place I like it because: — it’s so clean, neat and easy to find all your«corner-store deli» needs. — the people are actually HELPFUL and the guy that makes the sandwiches… Eduardo, I think… is brilliant. — two words: cold. beer. BUT want to know why I really REALLY like this place now? #1 They’ve just bought a new fruit rack, so where they use to have the standard oranges, apples and bananas in boxes by the register, there are now piles of fresh(actually good quality) fruit that would make Fairway jealous. And #2 They’ve just expanded their prepared foods to include GORGEOUS desserts. …yes, they’re so pretty I took a picture of them… see at the top… by their information? That was taken after buying too many and eating them all, thereby cancelling out at least a week’s worth of gym. Ah well. It was worth it. Definitely 2 steps above the average Hamilton Heights«corner store» and worth walking an extra block or two to get the great service.

What does one need after a good long swim at nearby Riverbank State Park? What about a deli full of good-spirited guys making sandwiches situated immediately next to the subway home? Yep! I’ll take it! While I can’t say I’ve had what seems to be the honor of eating their sandwiches, I can say that I frequent this deli every night I come swimming. It’s the perfect stop for the water/granola bars that I often forget to bring with me to the pool!

For a deli, you couldn’t ask for anything better. It is bright and clean, with friendly night guys(I’ve never been during the day). They even have a bench at the front to sit at if you are tired(read: drunk) while your food is being cooked. The prices are wonderful — like Thalia K said, you can get any deli sandwich for $ 4 or less, and they almost all taste better hot. I just tried the cheeseburger the other day, which was surprisingly delicious. My roommates also swear by the french fries. And my favorite part is that they only have a $ 5 minimum for delivery, and they will bring you anything in the store! On a freezing day, we had milk and Oreos delivered, and I’ve never felt like such a New Yorker hehe

«I’m gonna make you a really delicious sandwich» says the deli man named Eduardo. «You want mustard on your Pastrami hero? It’ll taste really good that way,» says Eduardo. «Looks good, yeah?» says Eduardo as he holds up my sandwich with big slices of cheese melted all over. Heck yeah it looks good, Eduardo! For $ 3.50-$ 4 you can get any kind of deli sandwich you want. I liked the Cajun and the Salsalito turkey and the Pastrami and the Roast beef and those are just the ones I’ve tried. I always get mine hot, meaning toasty bread, and warm deli meat, and as I already mentioned… the melted cheese in cheddar, swiss, provolone, mozarella, muenster, and pepper jack. Oh pepperjack, how I love thee. Then they go and throw in a can of soda for free! It’s so cheap it doesn’t even make the $ 7 minimum for paying with plastic. I must admit though, the first two or three times I went to Nadal for my sandwich fix I was unimpressed by another deli guy who when asked, «What’s your favorite? What do you recommend?» responded with a bored, «I like turkey. Plain.» Thankfully, the most recent visits have yielded this new guy, Eduardo – maybe he’s the day shift guy – but wherever he came from, he rocks my deli universe. Go pay your respects next time you’re up in Upper Upper West Side. You can tell him the Asian girl who smiles gleefully at her sandwiches and is named after a famous Latino singer sent you. ;)
