I ordered the monte cristo for dinner, a good deal at $ 10.25, or so I thought. All I can say is wow, awful. The turkey(who knew a monte cristo came with turkey?) was dry as a bone, and like the ham tasted as if it sat under a warming light all day. The cheese was greasy and the same consistency as rubber. The bread was very soggy. Additionally, the sandwich wasn’t even fried, which is basically the whole point of a monte cristo. Absolutely disgusting, inedible, and an insult to the word«gourmet,» under which this sandwich was listed on the menu.

Perfect place for a hungover breakfast. This diner has all the classic diner charm. Outdated décor, perfectly greasy entrees, and low prices-exactly what the doctor ordered for my Sunday scaries and slightly unsettled stomach. I had the Lumberjack French toast complete with eggs and bacon. Everything up to standard. I also had a perfect iced coffee. Our waitress was quick and attentive. The food also came out piping hot. Seriously not one compliant. I will definitely be back again next Sunday.

A place where true locals eat. If you want the authentic New York diner(no frills) experience this one works. We actually felt like we were in an episode of Seinfeld :)

Save the singing and dancing, soccer games and fish tanks for other takes on a diner in NYC — when you are just looking for extremely burnt(by design) corned beef hash, a few poached eggs and a coffee, look no further than the Murray Hill Diner. Everything a diner should be — simple, cheap, quick, and stocked with seemingly endless carafe’s of coffee.

Had we arrived 10 minutes later at ~8:30 on a Sunday morning, we likely wouldn’t have gotten a seat this place gets packed. It is steps from my friend’s new apartment, and so she frequents it like no one’s business lately since she’s since kitchen-less. The breakfast specials are quite affordable, so I can see why it’s such a good deal. It’s your standard diner fare, except they have yummy multigrain toast! Oooh, what midtown madness do we have going on here?! Since I can never decide between sweet and savory, I got one of the egg platters plus a basic stack of pancakes. The pancakes were that fluffy, almost brittle/breaks apart on your fork kind that you find in diners, which was good for what it was(and for my hungry stomach). The blemish was the sticky syrup, which they must reheat because it doesn’t pour out and spread properly. Otherwise, food was to my liking and is a great choice for a fast, filling meal in the area. And there’s something quaintly New York about a good ‘ol diner on a Sunday morning with locals, tourists, beat cops frequenting its tattered vinyl booths.

Excellent breakfast! Service is fast and friendly. I had the 3 cheese omelet with the breakfast sausage. The breakfast sausage was a meal all by itself!

Next customer, please… The mood in here is more like in a supermarket than in a restaurant, at least during our visit. Uninspired staff, The food was OK though, my omelette was tasty and juicy and the coffee was also good. Put a little more effort into the service and the place is worth 4 stars.

My friend and I stopped by Murray Hill Diner for a bite to eat after a morning of shopping. We ordered two cups of coffee, and the cheese blintzes to share. The coffee was diner-quality A-OK, but the blintzes left a lot to be desired. Fried and resembling spring rolls from a Chinese restaurant of similar quality(relatively poor, that is), part of the filling was still cold, and they only tasted decent with dollops of sour cream. Sadly, it was my friend’s first experience with blintzes, and now she *strongly* dislikes them. But we are in New York City, and there will be future opportunities for better ones!

That was fantastic. I miss a good NY Diner. Glad I made this choice. Ultra clean, quick service, good food, great people watching! It’s a diner people. Go, enjoy, and don’t take yourselves so damn seriously. Your welcome.

I wanted to like this diner. It has all the aesthetics of an old-school NY diner, but the food was bad, service ok. I wouldn’t return, bland.

My husband and I took a chance and went to this diner a few days ago when we were staying in New York. We went to a nearby laundromat since our clothes were dirty from traveling. We wanted to eat at a restaurant close by since we were waiting for our clothes to be washed and dried. There was no one really at the restaurant when we were there. The diner looked typical and low key. The service was just okay but the food did come out fast. We were pleasantly surprised how big our burgers were and how good it tasted. Food taste/portion rated at 4 stars while service/décor was more of a 2.5, which is why I gave an average 3 star rating.

We were on a mission to find a diner that was a walking distance from the hotel and we finally did on the last day. Murray Hill is your typical small family diner that serves the typical coffee and breakfast platters. I personally really liked it! The people were very nice and polite, the food was good but i wished the fried eggs was cooked more and not over easy or at least i wish they asked how i wanted to be cooked, because it ended up getting a bit messy! I didn’t mind the meal that much but other customers might be more picky than me, so just a thought! If I’m in the city again I would love to come back.

The Murray Hill diner is very close to my building and as a concierge I always recommend Murray Hill diner to people and they always give me positive feedback. I eat here once in a while and I generally just get the bacon and eggs with wheat toast but today I substituted home fries for sweet potato fries which was $ 1 extra but it was well worth it they were very good. They have a wide variety on their menu so you have to check it out when you get there but it’s a very good diner highly recommended from the concierge. Tenants in my building order from them often and the delivery time is not that long. I know I’m only a block away but still they are very proficient in their deliverys.

I went to the Diner for breakfast with some friends this morning. I walk by it on my way to work and it seemed to be worth a try. It’s your pretty typical diner. The interior is simple, a bunch of tables and booths with a kitchen in the back. The menus was pretty expansive, a bunch of pages with endless options. I got the eggs Benedict and friends ordered French toast and pancakes. Their orders were delicious, bacon was crisp. I was s little unimpressed with my eggs Benedict, something seemed a bit off with the hollandaise sauce, but it was still tasty. In summary I’d come back, service was great. I wouldn’t make it a destination for brunch, but if you want a morning off from breakfast this is a safe bet.

Walked in on a Tuesday morning to get some hearty American breakfast. Everything was perfect. Got seated quickly in a two-person booth. Ordered Steak & Eggs which was served quickly, had a decent portion, and done properly. Ketchup and steak sauce were provided without asking. The place became fully packed 10 min after I arrived, so I was pleasantly surprised everything was still speedy and in order. Would visit again.

Needed a quick place to rest and run, found it! The party arrived before I did, they ordered for me and the food is decent. I ordered an omelette with avocado, Swiss, and Turkey with a side of home fries. The food lacked salt, and with my previous hypertensive diagnosis, I was pleased. I also ordered a chocolate shake which was perfect. The wait staff here is amazing. There are a ton of regulars and they’re old. They even make good chicken fingers and fries for the ch’ren. I don’t know that I’ll need to come back, but I just may.

Gutes Frühstück, Mittag und Abendessen in amerikanischem Stil. Die Preise sind für New Yorker Verhältnisse normal. Ein Frühstück bekommt man um $ 10 zzgl. Steuern und Tip.
