MTA – Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenue

My favorite station in the area as the M is delayed a lot so I can take the L into Manhattan. It’s relatively clean for a subway station.
The L is underground and the M is elevated above palmetto street. I appreciate the display showing train arrival times. L comes more often than the M.

Great, recently renovated digs makes this one of the brightest and most convenient subway stations in the entire city. Yes, you do have to transfer elevators three times to go from the L to the M, but at least it’s an option. There are even restrooms, although they’re not always open — hence the four-​star review.
A variety of vendors right outside the station offer fresh fruit, hot coffee or delicious tacos, depending on the time of day. It’s awesome having two subway lines to choose from, too.

The mta sucks. I missed the last minutes of my dying fathers life because the train took 40 minutes to arrive. I want a refund.

I grew up in this Neighborhood and I will say that it has gone through major building improvements throughout the years. It has a few bus lines that passes through here and it’s right on the Brooklyn/​Queens Border. It contains a tracker to let you know how many minutes the nearest and the furthest train will arrive at the station. There is always a person at the booth unlike some stations.
I only gave it three stars because there are some problems with this station. During some weekends either the L or the M train is not running and your forced to take the shuttle bus which is jam packed with people. Also, the vending machines there don’t work. MTA get it together.

Located on the borderline from where Ridgewood, Queens crosses into Bushwick, Brooklyn. Here you can transfer from the M to the L line in one piece. Still like it better than the other major transfer hub at Broadway Junction on the L line.
The other day I came across a metrocard vending machine that didn’t work. Nice. What would be even nicer is that the M train can run more efficiently during rush hour. Take the hint, MTA.
On the M platform, you can see barbwire and old apartment buildings.

This station is special. Why? It has multiple ticket machines, and they usually don’t work! That being said, it’s a decent station, and if the M would run more often (looks like it might…) it would be more useful.

The nearest major subway hub in my area. It’s handicap accessible, right near quite a few major bus lines in Queens and Brooklyn and you can get both the L and M trains here. The escalators aren’t nearly as steep here and (gasp!) they actually work most of the time! I’ve been here later in the evening and you weren’t forced to take the stairs in some misguided attempt by the MTA to make people exercise.
No church people preaching at you and nobody selling their wares in the station itself. I haven’t seen as many cops here as at Broadway Junction but maybe they keep enough of a profile to scare those types off. Or the M train just isn’t that popular.
There’s also a tracker on the L platform that tells you where the next L train is for both Brooklyn and Manhattan bound trains. I really wish they’d do that at all the stations.
