History
Established in 1983.
In 1983, Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager, of Studio 54 fame, purchased 237 Madison Avenue and hired world renown Designer Andree Putman to create New York’s first boutique hotel.
Since we opened our doors in October of 1984, we have lived by the same core values — to provide an Engaging, Dynamic Guest Experience.
The company has grown since those early years, but Morgans has retained the essence of the quintessential boutique hotel.
Meet the Manager
Debbie R.
Manager
I joined Morgans Hotel Group in 1991 and became the General Manager of Morgans in 1999.
Every day has brought something exciting, something challenging, something fun. I feel it is a privilege to be the Manager of this wonderful property.
My goal is simple — in order to succeed, I must listen to my guests and my staff. I must keep an open mind, I must take criticism, I must continue to strive for excellence in the product and in our service.
I hope to continue to refine what we do, to improve, to listen and to remain at the top of our game!
