Have nothing but amazing things to say about Mohan’s Custom Tailors! I bought custom made pants for my boyfriend as a gift and they even threw in a complimentary custom shirt in as an extra. The items we received fit amazing and the quality is great. I would definitely reccomend Mohan’s. They also have great specials — I always check out their ads to see what deals they are offering that month.

Stay away from this place. Do business at your risk and prepare to haggle because there is no fixed rate. They will try to squeeze you as much as they can get. If you refuse you will prevail. This is cheap Indian tailoring. I’m thoroughly disappointed.

Mohan Tailors has been my go to spot for the last 15 years. I had them make my first «interview suit» when I was graduating college, and since then have gone back to them time and over again. The benefits of a custom suit are plentiful — from fit, to look, to personal selection — the list is endless. But Mohan’s is not just another custom tailor. What makes them unique is the amount of care they take for every customer. From my first suit with them to the next dozen I have had them make, Mohan’s takes the same care/​precision across the board. They ensure delivery is fast, prices are fair and competitive, and that you are happy with the end product. A few years ago when I was not in love with how the shirts fit, we went through fittings multiple times, until I was completely satisfied. Even then, Mr. Mohan had offered me to come back anytime and either refit the stuff or discuss making them again. Over the years, I have had them make dozens of shirts and several pants for me as well. My suits (140s and 180s) have been fantastic, and are ones that not only look different but feel different as well. My family has gotten to know the staff at Mohan’s well, and I have since referred many customers. In a city where most of the business transactions feel like transactions, Mohan’s makes the tailoring process feel like a relationship. Check it out — you will not be disappointed!

I feel that Mohan’s deserves a fair review and the two star description of «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» from Unilocal sums it up well.
I went to their traveling show in Boston. The guy who did my measurements was really nice and spent a fair bit of time looking at my sloped shoulders. I did get hit with their BS delivery charge, which is a shame, although they were mailing them to me in Boston so not 100% uncalled for.
Now there are some positives. Of the three suits one is great. It is a perfect fit, comfortable and accommodates my shoulders well. It is the suit I will take to get copied, fit wise, when I buy my next group of suits bespoke.
One of the sports jackets was really off and had to be taken back to NYC for tailoring. Overall they never did a really great job so it’s never worn.
The navy suit I got isn’t bad. The shoulder isn’t seamless, which is a but annoying, but it could be worse. I’ve worn it to a couple high profile conferences where I know everyone will get drinks after and a suit is at risk.
Overall I wouldn’t probably go back again as the suits where somewhat overpriced. The free shirts collar size didn’t really fit and are poly/​cotton blend, although ironically I get a lot of compliments on them when wearing open collar. They make nice going out shirts.
As for the technical details the suits are not fully canvassed. The suit numbers they give are highly likely to be double counted as they are twisted yarn (i.e. S110 is listed as S220). I got three different house styles on my jackets from modern to 90s with huge shoulder pads.
If none of the construction details matter to you, they do a nicely shaped suit once they have your details locked in, otherwise beware.

I came across their typical ad on the web for 3 suits and 6 shirts and called the number listed. Talked to Victor, the son of the owner and checked with him if this deal is still on, since the ad had no date on it. He confirmed and we set up an appointment for the next day. When I went there, within a matter of minutes, it went from saying it is an old ad that will still be honored to something that will not be honored and then back to trying to sign me up for the current advertised deal. Then I learned that I need to pay over a hundred dollars for shipping that was apparently non-​negotiable. There was no attempt to make things right for a trip made specifically for this after confirming it over the phone. Left a bad taste right-​away and I decided to leave. It just wasn’t right.

Any custom suit veteran would walk into this place and know to walk out. If your a custom suit newbie you will probably be happy with the suits. I assure you though once you get custom you will become hooked. Once your hooked you will start to look into it more and talk to others about where they go and you will quickly find that Mohans is full of swindlers and their work is not very good when compared to other tailors (think about it, how else can they afford to give 6 «free» shirts with the purchase of 2 or 3 suits?). When i went here the first time they had several bad reviews on Unilocal (i don’t where they went as there are only 2 reviews now both of which are 5 stars) but when i asked the guy about them he said it was their competition posting those. I instantly got a bad feeling about his response because i don’t like or trust people who trash their competition and I now know that was a lie. I ended up going through with it though as i couldn’t help myself i was so excited to be getting custom suits (mistake!). Also, after the whole process is done they will hit you with this «delivery charge» that is around $ 200 – 300 dollars depending on how much they think they can get out of you (i know this because when i knew nothing about custom suits i referred 2 friends to them and each time the charge was different AND negotiated. I even know a guy who refused to pay it and after several times saying they couldn’t waive it they did which clearly means its a bogus charge). I have been to two other tailors since and absolutely love their work (one for shirts the other for suits) and they, despite me expecting it after my experience with Mohans, didn’t hit me with a phantom delivery charge at the end. ‘
I only wish i knew better back then as now i have 3 suits i paid a lot of money for that i rarely ever wear now from them.

Best way too shop for a new suit. Good people and good threads.

My husband is addicted to custom made suits and shirts. He has been going to Mohan’s since 2006. Yes, my man is a suit whore. I love coming with him to help him pick out his shirts and his suits. We get to select collar, cuffs, buttons, pockets, material, monogram, style, and fit. It’s a lot of fun to create your own suit. My husband gets compliments on his suits wherever he goes. Once you buy a costume made suite you can never buy off the racks again.
