Such an interesting experience but I totally loved it. Never thought I would go to a bar where I would have to wear a warm coat and gloves lol. Once you walk into the bar there are many different ice sculptures all very beautiful. The place itself isn’t very big but it’s a nice little space. It was a really fun experience and I would defiantly love to come back one day.

Went there with my boyfriend, I purchased groupon voucher for 2 people + photo. It’s small but quite entertaining with all that ice sculptures and whatnot. The drinks are kinda pricey but really good, the bartender was very friendly. If you haven’t been there, you should definitely check it out. But I doubt I come back there(intentionally at least), it was a nice one-time experience though

This is one of those one-time trips. I bought my boyfriend a Groupon for Valentine’s Day which included entry with the standard parkas and gloves and one 5×7 picture. We stopped in at around 12:30 on a Saturday and it was empty. As everyone else said, you need to put your electronics in a locker before going into the bar. The«ice bar» was more of an «ice room,» which I was expecting based on other reviews. However, it was still surprising as to how small it was. It was pretty cool yo see all the ice carvings all over; the walls, the bar, the seats, even the glasses! The drinks were expensive at about $ 15 a pop for mixies and $ 8 for a bottle of beer; we ended up paying $ 68 for 4 mixies and one beer. Because of these prices and the fact that my guy didn’r bring a hat, we only stayed for about a half an our. We ended up getting 2 pictures for the price of 1 which was cool, so with the picture included with the Groupon we went home with all 3 pictures that we had taken. Overall, it was a cool experience and I’m glad we did it, but it’s not something that I would do again. If you’re in the area and want a different experience, give this place a try!

Pretty«cool» place to «chill» for a half hour or so, but any longer than that and you’ll start to «freeze» your buns as well as your bank account. What to expect: Friendly staff. Storing your electronics, such as phones & cameras, in a provided locker. Putting on a parka or fur coat and gloves. And walking into a large walk-in freezer type room with ice walls, ice benches, ice chairs, ice bar, ice glasses and expensive drinks($ 15 a pop). I came here on a groupon. The idea is very neat, and something to try at least once. It’s definitely more of a tourist attraction, being attached to the lobby of a Hilton. Although their drink prices are steep(as are most drinks in NYC), the positive side is that there’s no ice served in your drink, your drink is served IN ice! Oh, and they are tasty with fun names! If you go, I hope you have a chilly good time!

Wasn’t sure what to expect. It was lots of fun. Perhaps a bit novel and pricey(drinks $ 15/photos $ 20 + entry) but worth the one time experience. We took the trip in to the city on a Wednesday night and arrived around 11pm. We were greeted with a smile and explained that we had to leave our phones in a locker and given parkas and gloves. We entered the bar and although I read that it was small I was shocked at the size. It ultimately was a very large walk-in freezer and we were the only ones there. We explored the carved ice art through out the room and a few moment later were greeted by the bartender. We ordered two cocktails that were served in glasses made of ice. total cool. A few other couples came in while we were enjoying our drinks and the bartender tended to them before returning with a carmera. He took about a dozen photos of us that were available for purchase. The bar was so cold. lol we chose not to have another cocktail and headed out. The package we purchased did include a photo but they all came out great that we purchased an additional photo. I highly recommend you stopping at the Ice Bar for a cocktail before or after your ultimate destination. It’s was very unique but a one timer. Oh.and don’t forget the kids, they will love it.

It’s pretty cool to experience the ice in this place but to pay 100 dollars for 3 people to get in to a small place where you are being watched every second by workers and told what to /not to do, not my version of fun. Not much of a drink choice, and they are mediocre. Sorry just didn’t not at all live up to our expectations They also won’t let you bring phones in because they want to try to sell you photos. Came once checked it out, but won’t be coming back.

Cool experience… haha see what I did there? Cool experience lol… Enough of being super corny. This place was an okay time. We bought the Groupon and got a discount going in. We upgraded to the Fur because you have to… the parkas look so uncool. LOL It’s like a meat locker that’s all ice… with really cool ice sculptures inside. It’s very small so don’t expect some bi-level giant place. The drinks are decent priced… but the problem I had was that they served me FLATCHAMPAGNE. So horrible. Make sure you wear socks, I wore heels with no socks(because I had no foresight) and I regretted it. Get the Groupon and save some money!

This place is a BIG rip off. There is nothing special to see, worth paying $ 20(or more) for. We were a group of 4 and went there, paid the entrance fee and went in. The space is super small. When we were there, there wasn’t any audible music, and even if there were, there wouldn’t be any room to dance. We got out after 5 minutes and asked for our money back. The manager refused, with a rather rude attitude.

My first ice bar! Make sure you go in with the right expectations: get ready to pay a lot for two drinks. The ice bar isn’t somewhere you’ll want to hang out. The staff certainly won’t kick you out, but you’ll be so cold that you’ll want to leave after 15 minutes. Drinks are served in a cup made of ice(of course) that you’re supposed to hold with two hands so you don’t drop it. The specialty drinks are all super sugary. But you can get just use your drink ticket for a regular drink instead. You’re not supposed to bring your phone in, mainly because they also want to sell you photos of yourself. You’re supposed to put your phone in a locker before you go in. The faux fur parkas are dope and could result in some priceless photos if you want to ball out. I went with the regular parka, which actually fit over my down jacket. Bonus warmth. You get to keep your gloves. But they’re just disposable workers gloves so most people just throw them away. Pro tips: Make sure you’re wearing a beanie on your head and socks on your feet. It’s cold in there.

Visited this location on February 4th. I’m only giving it 1 star because I can’t give it any less. Upon arriving, the prices are outrageous but it’s NYC so that’s okay. We went inside and proceeded to enjoy our drinks and take plenty of photos that the staff takes being that you aren’t allowed any cameras. After some time we left the bar and viewed our photos and chose the ones we wanted to purchase. Our photos were printed and prepared in front us and then we handed the staff the credit card to process our purchase. We were then told that their machine was down so we waited. The girl at the front desk then informed us she would give us the photos for no charge because of our troubles and that it was beyond our control. As she walked away the little manager man came up and informed us that we would not be receiving our printed and prepared photos until we came back with cash. Unfortunately this wasn’t possible so he told us that we would not receive any photos. We went back into the bar and took our own photos being that none were available by the staff or otherwise and this was our only opportunity to visit the ice bar in NYC during our trip. The staff was planning on throwing out our photos after they already printed and prepared them for us, due to their own technical difficulties. Nowhere does it state that we are expected to bring cash so why should the public have to suffer for their technical difficulties? So sorry, not my problem. Don’t let it be yours either.

The ice bar is a cool concept, I don’t regret going, but I don’t think I would go again. So you can buy different packages, some include drinks, some include fur coats instead of the blue parka. Your suppose to lock your phones up in the locker before you go in. Not so happy about that. It’s a lot smaller on the inside then I expected. I was impressed with the ice sculptures, even the glasses are made of ice, very cool. Like I said overall great idea but not something you do more then once. Check it out, get your picture taken, check it off your list and move on.

Super expensive. Super touristy. 100% not worth it. It’s like at least $ 25 to get into this place. It’s made of ice, which is cool for about 40 seconds, and then it’s just cold and gross. It’s not that big, so if you go when it’s crowded, you’re forced to sit nearly on top of strangers. You have to pay for a coat with the entrance fee and can’t wear your own coat in, regardless of how much you insist or how much warmer your own coat may in fact be. You can’t even bring your phone inside because if you want to take pictures, you have to pay to take them, which I think is pretty ridiculous with the astronomically high entrance fee. The bar is really small and doesn’t have a huge selection of drinks. The special cocktails they offer are weak and come in these tiny ice glasses that start to melt as soon as the heat of your lips touch them. The music was so loud, it was nearly impossible to have a conversation with the friends I had gone there with. And after ordering a drink that was wrong and telling the bartender it didn’t taste right, he told me I was wrong and refused to remake it, even though it cost nearly $ 20. Don’t waste your time.

I was so excited to go here after I heard about it. It was my date night idea & I wanted to WOW my man. Unfortunately this date fell flat from the time we walked In. Short and Simple. Staff is great. They really try to give you a great experience. Why I gave the experience 2stars Inside the bar is extremely small. Possibly the size of my living room. Drinks. Extremely overpriced, hardly any alcohol. If they expect customers to pay those ridiculous prices at least get them drunk. 2 drinks = $ 40 they used cheap liquor && asked us to save the sculpted ice cups if we wanted refills. No entertainment. Music falls flat. Nothing to do but stand or sit in the cold Outerwear isn’t attractive unless you buy the premium package No phone =No photography. Must pay to capture the moment Only stayed inside for approximately 10 mins. A waste of $ 60.

So i really wanted to experience an ice bar, since i have had friends that did something very similar in Vegas. I didn’t want to go into the bar by myself, but luckily I found someone who was willing to try it with me. It is super pricey to get in — $ 20 just to get into the ice bar!!! Ended up going with the package that included 2 drinks, for $ 45 bucks. We ended up getting 15% off, and since someone wasn’t paying attention, we were handed 4 drink cards instead of 2, so it really made it worth it. I was kinda pissed off when they said no cell phone were allowed into the the bar because they didn’t want cell phones to get«messed up». After we went inside, we realized that they wanted to suck us in to buying the professional photos that they take inside(but weren’t worried about their professional equipment getting«messed up» in the cold). Anyways, the drinks were alright, and the bartender was pretty cool. Even though we had pre-paid for the drinks, you couldn’t get any drink you wanted — especially if it needed a premium type of liquor(additional $ 2 bucks — really!?). Anyways, the drinks were strong enough — i definitely felt it toward the end of the 4th drink. The space is really cool(no pun intended) — the seats were made of ice and had cool ice sculptures including a fancy chair, ice sculptures of the statue of liberty, I heart NYC, and had a flag embedded into the ice wall. The space is pretty small — i think it only fits 75 people. Had a nice chat with one of the workers, and she told us that all of the ice cups are made in their vegas location and shipped to New York — they don’t make that in house! I’m glad i got to experience an ice bar, but i won’t be going back and paying another $ 20 bucks to go inside again.

This place is awesome! I came here over the weekend with my fiancé’ and a couple of friends. We’ve been dying to see the inside of this place ever since we heard about it. Initially, I came on Unilocal to read some reviews and was surprised to see so many negative remarks made about this place. I couldn’t imagine a bar made entirely of ice be anything less than incredible! We weren’t disappointed! We walked in on a Saturday afternoon. I was a little nervous about not buying tickets on their website a head of time. But it turned out to be a non-issue as there were only a few people inside and they ended up leaving before we got our first drink. The entrance is located within the Hilton lobby. When you walk into the foyer, there is a wall of coats for rent and lockers to keep your belongings in(more on that later…). On the other side, there is a small gift shop area where they sell sweatshirts, hats, and other things with their logo. We all selected the $ 45 package which included use of a blue parka, gray gloves, and two drink tickets. After we were all paid up, we were escorted over to the lockers where we were told that we were not allowed to bring our cell phones in with us. Photography of any kind is strictly prohibited. They have they’re own photographer inside the bar that will take photos of you and your group for $ 20 a piece. I think this is a silly, money-making gimmick and it is the sole reason why I did not give a 5 star review. I understand that it must be costly to maintain this place, but that should be reflected in the entry fee and drink prices. We’re talking about an extraordinary environment here, and to forbid paying customers to take their own pictures in a place like that is very annoying. And to put a $ 20 price tag on a single picture is stupidly laughable. Anyway, once inside, we were completely blown away! Everything, from the walls, the ceilings, the seats, the bar, even the glasses were all made from ice! There are multi-colored lights set behind everything that change with the music. At the time we went, we were able to see ice sculptures of the Statue of Liberty, the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones, a beautiful rendering of John Lennon, and a map of Manhattan. There is a little alcove in one of the corners of the room and that’s where my friends and I sat. There are faux fur throws all over the seating so that you don’t freeze your bum off when you sit. There are also coasters everywhere so that you can put your drinks down without them sticking to the tables. The bartender was very friendly and the bar was fully stocked! They also have a nice specialty menu of ice-themed drinks. I ordered a Mojito… I actually ordered two! They were fantastic! Nice and strong! My fiancé’ and his friend ordered shots of Fireball and were given doubles! We were asked if we wanted our pictures taken so we did, with no intention of buying them, just for fun. At the end of the little photo session, the photographer convinced us to take a picture without the jackets! All in all, we had a great time! We spent about 45 minutes inside the bar and probably would have spent more if we could feel our fingers! I would definitely go again and I recommend everyone go, at least once, just to experience it! Cheers!

Went in here randomly. Had to urinate after the halal guys outside. Went to the counter to see when they open up for evening. Low and behold they are open in the afternoon. So we said why not and rolled in Pros: unique experience. Saved me a trip to mother Russia or Switzerland. Cons: exactly what everyone else says. The no cell phone policy is horse shit. Their pro pics are like 45 bucks. No thanks. They post them on fb later that night. But they randomly choose which pics they water mark Price. 20 bucks to get in. 15 per drink. The drinks are small. But potent. Size. No joke. It’s about 500 square feet. Max occupancy is about 75 Overall it’s a cool place to check out for the story. It’s nyc prices I guess. Deal with it. The need to drop the bs cell phone policy though. And give the poor bartender a break. It cold in there. 17 degrees cold. Not minus 5. Liars.

I work around the area and have passed Minus5 Ice Bar so many times and was curious as to what it was. Placed within the Hilton Hotel on 6th Ave it screams tourist trap, but years later, my curiosity got the best of me. We walked in this past Saturday slightly intoxicated from our boozy brunch at Lavo and thought that going to the Ice Bar was a brilliant idea. The idea is cute, they give you a warm jacket and some gloves to sit in a room of decorated ice. Your chairs are ice, the shot glasses are ice, your rocks glass is ice! They even had this novelty Game of Thrones chair in the middle, made completely of ice. The people are very friendly, but you can see the beaten exhaustion on their faces from dealing with tourists all day. I asked the bartender what the demographic was for clients and he said ~90% tourists and 10% NYC-ers who pass by us everyday and our curious as to what this is. We opted for the 45 $ package which included a blue ski jacket and a pair of thin gloves + 2 drinks. I say thin, because my fingers were itchy and cold after twenty minutes. You’re not allowed to bring your phone inside, but they do offer free lockers for you to store yourself. Meanwhile, the bartender also acts as a photographer as he snaps some photos of you having the time of your life in the Ice Bar. All in all, I’ll probably never return, but it is a fun experience if you’re with friends and had a couple of drinks in ya. Otherwise, I’ll save the curious NYC-ers some money and say: pass.

New Yorkers: You should know better. Tourists: This is NOT what you came to New York to see. I can’t imagine even most wide-eyed and provincial visitor not being underwhelmed by this bar. There are some cool ice sculptures(one of the Manhattan street grid, another of the Iron Throne, etc.) but that’s pretty much it. Yes, it’s neat that everything is made out of ice, but the novelty wears off within 30 seconds. This is a very small space – like, the size of my apartment living room. It costs money to enter, and cocktails are $ 15. I would have probably given this place two stars out of pity but they make you leave your phones in lockers before you enter the room, which should totally not be a thing. This is so they can charge for the photos taken inside by their cameraman, but also probably because no one would ever go to this bar/tourist trap if they could see how tiny/disappointing/generally horrible it is beforehand.
