History
Established in 2013.
Miller’s Near & Far strives for excellence and caters to locals as well as to destination diners. The slim, train car like room, incorporates futuristic elements with those from the past, to create a dining experience seeped in the familiar but tweaked by mystery. The carefully made, seasonal dishes are inventive takes on classic dishes as well as novel approaches to local, seasonal ingredients.
Meet the Business Owner
Christopher M.
Business Owner
Owner and executive chef Chris Miller is involved with TriBeCa restaurants, Tiny’s, Smith & Mills, and Warren 77. Chris is a native New Yorker who grew up enjoying the variety of cuisines that are all at home in New York City. This has influenced his approach to the menu, with references to nearby Chinatown, the Jewish delis of the L.E.S. and other local references. Near & Far is Miller’s first solo venture and he is solely responsible for the extraordinary design which incorporates film noir and fine art themes. Dazzling infinity mirrors, light reflecting tables and the most surprising bathroom mirror on the Lower East Side, round out this extraordinary restaurant.
