History
Established in 2001.
I started working with pianos after wandering into a piano shop in Madison, WI, were I was attending college at the time. I started working at the shop, Farley’s house of Pianos, in Madison, as a part time job. After college graduation, with a B.A. in English, I decided to attended the North Bennet Street School’s Piano Technology program. through the school I was chosen to spend a summer tuning pianos at Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan, a terrific practice tuning. After the summer season at Interlochen ended, I went on the road and worked in Europe. I worked mostly Dublin and the Czech Republic at the Petrof factory, before coming back to the States to work for Steinway & Sons in 2000 as a full time technician. At Steinway & Sons I received even more guidance and experience.
In 2003 I was giving the opportunity to take over a good number of clients from another New York City technician who was moving from New York City. This allowed me to work on my own business full time.
Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner
I was born in Cleveland, Ohio. I grew up in California and Minneapolis until I was 18 years old. We always had a Steinway upright piano in our home growing up. My mother plays well as did her mother who was also a church organist. I took lessons from a local piano teacher as a kid, but it wasn’t until my college years when I started working with pianos that my love to play really emerged.
Moving to New York City from the Midwest was a big change. I’ve grown to love my new home for over 13 years. My job brings me to many places and homes of interesting people. I enjoy the variety of each day and yet the familiarity of the job which has remained the same, basically, for over 100 years!
I hope that you give me the chance to show you how good your piano can feel and sound. I include minor repair and adjustment as part of the tuning appointment. I look forward to meeting you!
