David gave a fantastic massage. He was very good at working on the areas that I really needed to get worked on, as I had some pain in the shoulders and hips. I think the prices are very fair, especially for NYC. I also thought the massage was one of the best I have gotten. David is a great massage therapist!

I used to go there regularly (every week) and I even had taken several packages. I was happy with their service. But today I had the most horrendous experience with them.
I had booked a massage and as they sent the email confirmation, I realized I had made a mistake on the reservation time. So I right away replied to ask to change the time by one hour (at the time all their time slots were open). Well sure enough the next day, day of the appointment, I realize that they could not receive my reply message because it is a third party handling their email systems.
SO I call… as I consider myself a very good customer and I am convinced that we will find an arrangement. To my biggest surprise, I had to listen to a very unfriendly receptionist read to me the exerpt of the spa «booking rule“s stating that I had to pay for the full massage, not even offering an option… I had no way to know that you could not reply to their messages !
This is the most non customer service oriented spa I have ever been to and of course will never set foot there again.

Metamorphosis Day Great place to get pampered., The place is very is well maintained and the mood is set for a relaxing time there. I got the hour long clean as a whistle facial with Tanya Zaydel. The facial I can truly say was well worth it. The face treatment was better than expected. I then got the massage with Mariela Colon and wow wow wow my body is new again. I loved my massage. I would definitely recommend Metamorphosis Day Spa. I would go there again and again.

My skin had gotten extremely dry the last few weeks and I was looking for somewhere close work for a quick 30 min express facial. I was able to get in the same day. The facial was great and my dry skin has completely cleared up! This is a small quiet spa-​very relaxing. Everyone is very nice!

Perhaps I came in with too high of expectations because of the Unilocal reviews. The space is clean & simple. The staff is friendly & efficient. Why only 3 stars you ask? Well because there simply is no justification for their price points. I had the cleopatra body wrap. Marcy was wonderful & in fact I feel she should work at a more high end facility but I digress. The product applied did not smell as wonderful as it was described & was a slimy consistency. After being unwrapped I had to walk all the way through reception front desk area to get to the shower! That was very awkward. Although the bathroom & everywhere else was clean, it was all bare minimum. Now if we analyze the price of this service, which was $ 150 & compare it to a body wrap from Bliss spa, which is the same price, it is just night and day. Bliss is all new with steam room & sauna. There have snacks & lockers. It is a multimillion dollar facility. Now I understand rent is high in midtown, but this spa needs to drop their prices. My service would be justified at $ 100. Marcy the technician was very good but for this money I can upgrade on the venue.

I was looking for a spa in my area that offered a male-​specific package and Metamorphosis offered two; I went with the Iron Man spa package over the other offering, Metrosexual Makeover. It was a birthday gift for myself and they had the specific offerings I was looking for: Deep Tissue massage, men’s facial, and a foot treatment. Booking was very simple, all done online.
I think I was the very first appointment of the day, 10am. My only negative experience of the entire day was after being brought into the initial relaxation room partitioned by a curtain, I was listening to the morning cleaning person mopping the bathroom and cleaning the toilet (directly across from relaxation room); overall not a deal breaker — clean bathrooms are important too. The space is rather small, but they have done the very best to make it feel relaxing, calm, and inviting.
The entire package lasted for 1hr 50 minutes and began with a facial followed by hand/​body/​scalp massage all done in the same room by the same woman (Anita I believe?). She was very good and knowledgeable about skin care and products. This took up 1hr 25 minutes, which left me with 25 minutes for transitioning to a new room for a new therapist for Deep Tissue. All I can say is that I regret not having more time for the massage. The therapist (Ingrid) was one of the best I have been to in her ability to focus where I needed the attention and apply the pressure necessary for how tense my back can get. Job well done! Even after the massage, as I was paying for the package, she came out to the front desk to recommend and show me different stretches I could do to help alleviate muscle tension.

I had a fabulous hot stone message and scalp message at this lovely spa. The facility is tiny, but very nice. The personnel is very welcoming. I’ve been to many spas in Midtown Manhattan and hands down, this is my favorite.

This is my regular go-​to spa. Have been coming here for maybe 15+ years (a long time) and I know it is way overdue for a review.
I’ve tried many countless other spas from moderately priced to very expensive because I do like to try different places for variety BUT I always seem to come back here. They have the best facials and I trust the estheticians here because they are very thorough and knowledgable about skincare. When I get facials at other spas, the next day my skin shows no real improvement, no matter how expensive the treatment, except when I get facials from Metamorphosis — my skin looks and feels good. This will always be my go-​to spa for great facials.

Had a fantastic full-​body massage today from Ingrid Garcia! She was professional, had a firm touch, and really cared about my body pain. Post-​massage she even showed me some tricks to stretch my neck out. Wonderful service!

I spent a lot of time tossing up between a few locations for an end of vacation spa day. Initially I wanted somewhere with the full day spa resort style experience of a pool /​bath /​spa type area but I couldn’t go past the reviews for Metamorphosis.
I tried booking online, but couldn’t seem to get it to work to book 3 treatments in 1, so called and the booking process over the phone was very smooth. I explained I wanted a body scrub & wrap, facial & a massage and had to be done by around 5pm. The gentleman on the phone advised I’d need 3 hours, recommended the order of the treatments (Massage, Scrub/​Wrap, then facial) which turned out to be ideal, and took credit card details to secure the booking. He made it clear that if I needed to cancel it must be with at least 24 hours notice, but I’d also get an email close to the appointment to confirm the booking. Within 5 minutes of getting off the phone I received confirmation of the appointment, which was nice.
Upon arrival at the spa, I was offered a water & to use the restroom and was then taken to my treatment room for my massage. The massage felt amazing, but I felt the explanation of where to put my clothes, how much to strip down, which blankets to get under on the table could have been a little more in depth to avoid that awkwardness of being over or under dressed, or like me just lying on top of the table when I could’ve been under a blanket!
After the massage I was given a robe, and moved into another room for my scrub & wrap with a different employee (I am useless with names, but was the same lady that also did my facial, I think perhaps Tatyana?). There was no basket for my clothes & handbag, so they were just carried awkwardly over to the new room (this time by myself, other room movements my wrap/​scrub therapist). My robe didn’t have a tie, and I wasn’t provided with slippers initially, but my second therapist sorted this out.
The scrub and wrap were absolutely divine. After spending hours and hours on planes over the last few weeks, my skin felt like it had been left in the desert in a drought, and afterwards it felt amazing! It was a dry scrub, followed by a milk and honey wrap. While I was lying there wrapped in foil and blankets, the foot massage was pretty darn good too! My only complaint was the shower was down the hallway on the opposite side, so to get there I had to traipse down wearing nothing but a big piece of foil and perhaps a blanket that were half falling off me. There was no guests in reception, but there was a male staff member, that luckily didn’t turn around and get to see something he didn’t really need to see!
After the shower I moved to yet another room for my facial. Again, absolutely divine. The massage was great, but great massages are not that hard to come by. The star of the show was easily the scrub, wrap & facial. It’s probably been about 7 years since I had similar treatments that were anywhere near as good, and my therapist was spot on with her explaining everything to me.
If it wasn’t for the little things like the moving rooms, lack of somewhere to keep my belongings, online booking difficulties etc, this would’ve been a 5 star review, but I’d still definitely go back for the beauty treatments if I was in New York again!
Fun Fact — the toilet is also a bidet! (And trust me, if you haven’t tried a bidet in winter, you’re missing out!)

I have had wonderful facials and a hot stone massage here. The staff is very knowledgeable about the latest developments and innovations in stem cell treatments. The facility is clean and restful, yet also very professional in terms of being amongst skin care experts. Also the pricing is very reasonable.

I was given a facial and massage as a gift from my husband and was greeted with friendly smiles. My facial by Anita was amazing and am still glowing! She talked me through all the steps and recommended great products to use.
My massage was also fantastic.
You should definitely get pampered here.

Came in for a massage my fiancé purchased off gilt and I’m very happy I found this place. I brought a couple of my bridesmaids as well and they enjoyed their facial and massage. Speaking for my own massage from Ingrid, she has the magical touch. The pressure was exact and she just felt how much pressure your body needed. Extremely happy with metamorphosis and will be returning soon. Booking appointments and communication is very smooth as well.

Best facial I have had in a long time, will definitely return.

I have been to this spa about 3 times and I have been pleased with their services each and every time. This weekend I did the whole Sha-bang…head to Toe package and it was not a disappointment. I will be treating myself to this package as often as I can. It is pricey but totally worth it. I was taken care of my Tatyana and Mariela for the Swedish massage part of the package.
Mariela definitely hit the spot on my back which has been bothering for the last few months.
I will be coming back. Thank you Metamorphosis Spa for everything.

I have had the hardest time in finding a spa in NYC that does Endermologie and I was thrilled when I found out that Metamorphosis was performing this service. The therapists are well trained and courteous and I have started coming every week I am in NYC. The environment is pleasant, clean and everyone is very nice and the location is perfect for me and very convenient in midtown.
I am definitely continuing my Endermologie treatments here!

I had my very first Acne Facial at Metamorphosis Spa this morning… it truely was like stepping into a peaceful retreat from the madness of New York city. I was welcomed with peaceful, restful music and the aroma of relaxing, warming essential oils. I knew straight away this would be a regular practice for me! I’ve already made an appointment.
Marcy was excellent. She was my therapist. A lovely young lady from Poland. She spoke about my skin, recommended skincare for sensitive skin and gave a lovely, facial. My skin feels a million dollars!

I went there last as pre –birthday gift from my boyfriend. From beginning to the end fabulous customer service. The receptionist was so friendly and the staff that tended to me was great. I got my first Brazilian wax there and as painful as it was lol. I still left the spa completely relaxed and light. Will be back with my mom and sisters.

I arrived at 1:00 for my 1:00 appointment for today (If you’re on time in NY you’re EARLY!) and was greeted by the receptionist and my masseuse. My first thought was that the waiting area was extremely small however it was well kept and clean. Which is a huge thing for me as I work in the medical industry. I was offered lemon infused water which I did not have time to drink as I was taken into my massage room right away.
I used to work on 57^th and Lexington and had I known that this place existed, I would’ve been chugging Long Islands at Fridays and then coming here for some body work.
I opted for the Metamorphosis Signature massage which included hot stones, aromatherapy and Swedish massage. My masseuse was Ingrid who was extremely attentive. She asked me if I had any pain prior to starting and I informed her that I had terrible tension in my left shoulder. She focused on my problem areas a little bit longer than every where else and she was knowledgeable about pressure points. I’ve received several massages before but this was my first time with the hot stones. They’re fucking hot but after about 2 seconds they felt wonderful and the aromatherapy used (citrus, lavender) was amazing.
The only downside was that the air conditioner randomly kept coming on and off at the very beginning of my massage however Ingrid was so good I barely noticed once she started. I swear this massage was 60 minutes instead of 50 as noted on the website so that’s also a plus.
Highly recommended.

Came here for spa week with my friend and it was awesome. We called last minute and they took us. My massage therapist (Ingrid) was very sweet and she took care of me. It was a very soothing massage. Definitely didn’t want to leave.
The receptionist was super sweet as well. You gotta give this place a try. Its well worth it.

Great experience at Metamorphosis Day Spa. I’m on my feet a lot and recently with the winter chill — hunching over to stay warm — my shoulders have been quite tense. Came across info on the spa and saw all the positive reviews on Unilocal so I decided to try it out.
The spa’s website was very informative, services affordable and the photos match what you see — dim lighting, spacious and clean facility — all located in a great neighborhood. I decided to book a 50 minute Swedish massage. Booking the appointment was simple and the manager, Mike was able to fit my appointment in last minute.
The spa was easy to find and close to the 4 – 6, E, M, Q, N and R trains! The spa is on the fifth floor and you need to buzz to get into the commercial building. I don’t enjoy going up an elevator alone but luckily the wait and the ride was quick. I was greeted by name when I informed of my appointment time andthe receptionist even took my jacket to hang up — that’s rare.
Since I was early I was seated in a curtained-​off waiting area (away from the front lobby and elevators) which was cozy. The restroom was clean and inviting. My therapist, Karyl, greeted me — also by name — when she escorted me to the massage room. She was very informative, asked about my problem areas and gave clear instructions about the massage. She was also reassuring when she started cracking my back and asked about the pressure of the massage throughout the appointment which I really appreciated.
The massage was a little slow at first because she started on my neck and shoulders which was really tense and with knots. As it continued I felt very peaceful. Karyl used some really cool technique with the neck, back, shoulder and head massage which made me feel like I was floating. The massage was a perfect mid week pick me up. Karyl was right when she said I’d feel better the next day.

I had a wonderful experience here, and do not hesitate to recommend.
Adriana attended to me and I received a microdermabrasion facial.
I’ve had facials done in a few places. This place is good. The facialist was patient and explained each stage to me. I loved the heated bed that I was in. She also massaged my arms, hands, fingers, shoulders, and the scalp, and even my feet! Both my hands and feet were lotioned and placed in heating glove which was most excellent.
The restrooms are clean.
The room was dimly lit and warm with relaxing music.
My face was nicely cleaned and had a glow after the facial.
I am very satisfied.

I recently visited Metamorphosis for a massage and am very happy that I did. Everything about the experience was wonderful. Usually I don’t pamper myself, but after the wear and tear that the holiday season had on my body, I felt like I needed something nice.
From the moment I walked into the reception area, I immediately felt relaxed and at peace. The lights were nicely dimmed, the music was soothing and the staff kindly welcomed me. They asked if I wanted any water and offered to hang up my coat. After no more than a couple of minutes, the masseuse introduced herself and showed me the private room where I’d be receiving the massage.
I had the Swedish massage and it was perfect. She asked if the pressure was ok and if there were certain parts of my body that she should focus on. The intensity was just right and the combination of oils, lotions and heated cloths added to the quality. The gentle music and perfect lighting helped me relax even more. I was so at ease, that I actually fell in and out of sleep during the latter portion.
If you’re looking to receive a massage experience that leaves you feeling relaxed and regenerated, then I highly recommend this place.

If you are in dire need of complete stress relief and, especially, if you get frequent knots around the shoulders and upper/​lower back, I’d highly suggest you get the stone massage service here!
My masseuse was very sweet and professional. She was very attentive to the parts of my body that needed more work (e.g. neck, shoulders). With my face down, she used an aromatic oil and began with a Swedish Massage. Her massaging techniques were very soothing to the point where I felt completely relaxed (almost slept). Compared to my past experiences with other masseuses, I felt at ease with her.
She continued to massage sections of my body and then placed the heated stones; mind you, this was my first experience receiving this particular treatment and it was amazing. After her service, I walked out of the spa feeling rejuvenated and satisfied.

I’ve never had one done, so she was patient and explained each stage to me. I don’t know if this is standard, but she also massaged my arms, hands, fingers, shoulders, and the skull. She undid the gel in my hair, but no big deal. At least my hair is short! My hands were lotioned and placed in some sort of heating glove which was most excellent. My hands definitely needed this!
They are conveniently located and easy to find. Make sure you ring the correct business at the door. The staff will greet you and accommodate you if you have any requests. The restrooms are clean.
The other thing of importance when frequenting these establishments is the ambiance. The environment is cozy to say the least. The light music is relaxing, and the staff all have excellent voices for this type of work. The room was dimly lit and warm.
I don’t have anything negative to say. I will be back as soon as I can.
