I’ve been to Melissa for several hypnosis sessions… each session is completely different! This is because she alters the style depending on what is needed.
I was shocked the first time, as I began to tell her things that were going on, and she told me to «stop». This is not because she doesn’t want to hear your drama, it’s b/​c it’s not necessary. She just needs to witness your emotional response to a situation, and then stop your brain from following that path. She triggers your brain to start a new path.
Some sessions involved imagery and visualization to train the brain to let go of specific scenarios or themes. Pretty trippy but it works.
If you like a no-​nonsense kind of practitioner, Melissa is right for you.

I had an unsatisfactory expereince with Melissa. I went to her to receive hynotherpahy to help me with stress and productivity. I didn’t really get the sense that she was interested in really helping me in a real way. She rushed through everything, not even taking 10 minutes to talk to me about what really brought me in there. She taught me superficial techniques that don’t get to the underlying problem and were not real hypnosis — as far as I understand it. She did not remember what we had covered the prior week, which I find particularly frustrating. Maybe it’s me, but after spending $ 300 for 2 sessions, I didn’t feel like I got anything real out of it. She told me I didn’t need to come back for any other sessions, which seemed odd to me. Again, maybe it’s me.

When I met Melissa in 2007 I was already a Master Practitioner of NLP, however she taught me more in 20 minutes than I had learned in 40 days of training with other hypnosis teachers.
I became her dedicated student and sent all my NLP and hypnotist friends to train with her. I’ll tell you want I told them «you have to train with Melissa, she is awesome!!!»
Melissa has a set of students who adore her and whom she cajoles, encourages and pushes to achieve their best. She is also the most technically talented, creative and knowledgeable Hypnotists in New York, psychiatrists refer her the patients they do not know how to help.
If not for Melissa I would never have started a professional practice, I would never have got an office, and never have seen a paying client. Now my practice is doing well enough to move into a much larger space with three large offices. Melissa deserves all the credit for this.
If you want a hypnosis teacher who will give you a surface knowledge of hypnosis then send you on your way to fend for yourself look somewhere else. But if you want a teacher who will give you a deep understanding of hypnotic principles, practical techniques, and then support you technically and emotionally until you have a successful practice of your own, and beyond, then go train with Melissa.
