This McDonald is very large and usually busy. I decided to stop by for dinner because I had been craving McChicken for a while. Inside the store, the line is long with only 2 cashiers out of the 6 that were available, however it is understandable because they are low on staff. They had 1 person putting the orders together and 1 at the side window. After placing my order of 2 Mochas, 2 Mcdoubles, and 2 McChickens I moved to the side to get out of the crowded area and attentively waited for my number. They had my drinks ready first which they had me pick up. Then with my drinks I wait patiently on the side for over 20 minutes. This is when it because ridiculous. I know for a fact she had skipped my number. And they were calling out items in the orders rather than the numbers. When I went to just make sure whether my order was coming or not I was reprimanded by the person packing the orders, stating that she called my order over 5 times. This is behavior UNACCEPTABLE. There were only 3 people working in the front, and there was absolutely no way I would have missed it, especially because I was in a hurry. Not only did she mess up my order obviously giving me none of my food, she lied to me saying that she called it when I never heard it. Not only that, after I asked I was left standing there confused. The cashiers were helplessly just watching scared to ask their manager if the food was coming out or not. I actually had to raise my voice and say«Hey, so is my food coming out or not?» While standing there waiting she reprimanded another customer with the same thing even though he took a few seconds to grab his soda by the soda fountain. This is McDonald is also always dirty, and just has horrible management. Truly, it is really the worst McDonald’s I have been to.

Open 24 hours but I think that’s for the walk up window. Wahhhhhh, not sure if this McDonald’s is worth my time to review except it is because some of the highlight’s I can’t blame the management for. ITISBUSYUPINHERE! These kids that come in here at night make up for 35% of the customers and they make the place crowded. On my visit the place was a bit dirty(left over food on some tables), the restroom is dirty even though there is a lady cleaning and mopping. I came here to use the restroom, open to public, thank you for that. I bought a drink and was given a cup to use the Coco Cola soda fountain, the new ones with the touch screen to select your brand and flavor, I had to wait on line to get soda, not just a uniform line a crowded bunched up line that made no sense, it’s these kids fooling around. There’s two, one was out of order. My peach Mellow Yellow drink tasted like plastic. Damn it. I was going to give the McDonald’s two stars but I change my mind, no experience like it in Washington Heights, except maybe in Brooklyn somewhere. Make that money McDees. By the way, I could not get Unilocal service on the app around the area.

This place is lucky that I’m even giving it 1 star! Service is very slow, and I am not quick to assume the people in the back who are flipping the burgers are to blame. They take orders for about 5 customers first, then they go grab your order. 10 minutes is a long time to wait for a coffee! Also, they do mess up on orders so you have to check and see if your order is correct. Another area of complaint for me is management. Sadly, my interaction with them, and observations of them, have not been very positive. It’s almost like they seem to be on some power trip. They talk with their hands and brush you off in the manner in which they speak. Because this is my local McDonalds I do tend to bite my lip because sad to say– there are some battles you just need not to fight, especially when it’s with people who appear to lack common sense. Yes I will return. No, I do not have high hopes! GETYOUR S$!T together.

I’ve eaten at this McDonalds before but was shocked when they refused to provide even a small cup of tap water for my kids. The onsite manager said there new policy was to refuse cups for water, period, even if you were purchasing food as we were. What a sucky, mercenary approach to try to force people to buy unhealthy soda or other drinks!

Really only getting a one star because of the soda machine. Otherwise I hate this place. There is no organization(I guess i shouldn’t blame the staff because the heights community is quite disgusting and treats their neighborhood horrible) so ordering is quite chaotic. Also PEOPLEGETYOURCHILDRENUNDERCONTROL. If you can’t keep your kid from running around the entire place then don’t go out in public. I just warn people do not come here on Sunday because i feel like parents of the heights just bring their kids here so they don’t have to really watch them. Ya’ll need to grow up. Otherwise speedy service, and I really only come here for the soda machine.

If the staff here were any slower, I’d swear they had some uncanny ability to freeze time to a near-standstill. I come here before my overnight shift at the hospital nearly every nice for convenience, and get a coffee(black, no sugar). More often than not, people who order entire meals behind me get their food, drinks, desserts, etc WAY before I get my one simple coffee. At least 9 or 10 times I have had to produce a receipt showing I’ve been waiting for 17+ minutes for my coffee when people behind me are being served immediately. Because I’m only ordering a coffee that means you can brush me under the rug? Get it together!

Roy’s Top 5 Things to Know: 1. Decent sized McDonald’s but overall the service is lackluster and the food is so so. Sounds weird saying that about McDonalds but just try the Mickey Ds in Times Square, now that’s how Mickey Ds food is done! 2. No drive thru but they have a walk up window. They have restrooms as well. 3. They have a playpen for kids open during the day. And you can plan a kids party as they have a space for it downstairs. 4. Check your food, they often get your order wrong. 5. It’s open 24 hours but the service gets real slow late night. The workers are more focused on chatting it up rather than working.

This isn’t the worst McDonalds I’ve ever been to, but this is definitely more on the negative end of the spectrum. The restaurant is overly crowded, the staff move at a snail’s pace, and even the clientele are irksome. After ordering an iced coffee, I waited twelve minutes for it. Twelve minutes. I could’ve made it to Port Authority in that timeline, geesh. The reason why this location gets two stars instead of one is the odd, the is it or isn’t it sketchy party window that this location has that opens up to the sidewalk so you don’t have to go into the miserable restaurant. So if you’re really craving McDonalds, this makes it slightly more bearable. Slightly.

This gourmet establishment serves their menu delights in a paper wrapper. The sign outside says that they have served billions, but I cannot imagine how they have done this without proper place settings, table clothes, glassware, etc. Gosh, there wasn’t even a host or server to take the order. They do have the most fabulous tasting ice cream treat called a «McFlurry» which was interesting(although the spoon seemed to serve as the stirring mechanism as well). I ordered my hamburger and it came with cheese(and even included a slip on top that said«no cheese») and it did take them a very long time to correct the issue.

Got one McChicken and a large fries… you would think that would be a quick meal. No I’ve been standing here for 20 minutes as other people fly through and receive their orders. I cannot even comprehend why it’s taking so long…

I do not claim to be a McDonald’s expert, however as someone that has worked with the public for fifteen years, This location is ridiculous. Not only is it over run with homeless people stealing sodas, begging and washing up in the bathroom but the employees(including managers) act as if they are doing you a favor. The overall attitude of their staff is deplorable. I once used to think that a language barrier was what made it so difficult to get a correct order at this McDonald’s however it is just that they simply do not give a damn and when you complain you should watch because if you thought they gave you attitude when you ordered your food nope they were being nice. This McDonald’s needs a franchise review.

I agree with Jocelyn A that this is truly«the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been to». Its as if its not even part of the franchise. I work at nearby New York Presbyterian Hospital and have been to this McDonald’s many times throughout the years, also living across the street from it. Visually, its like any other McDonald’s but do not expect to eat in peace with a nearby Armory Men’s homeless shelter two blocks down at 168th Street, there is a constant flow of beggars at the door as well as table-to-table begging as you eat your food. Afternoons and evenings, bootleg DVD sellers visit the table as you eat too. Children in the play area are allowed to run crazy all over the restaurant and management does nothing. No one’s in charge here and anything’s allowed except for probably entering the cooking area. The biggest problem is the homeless beggars. I stopped going there years ago after a homeless was denied my spare change during breakfast with my then 8-year-old son. In protest, he leaned in closer to my face literally screaming ‘gimme some!” I got up, went to the counter to speak to the mgr. to report him and SHE shook her head in agreement and told me she had one more day until her transfer went through and she was outta there. She remarked that this McDonald’s was the worst one she’d ever worked in. I mean wow — from an employee, and a manager at that?! That day was the last I went there and haven’t returned since. Angry homeless + me with my son = leave! I’ve seen other episodes customers’ tables approached by homeless making rounds asking for spare change — either irate or «nice» — they are relentless. Be ready. Every week DAY, homeless are parked at both doorways to beg in/out bound customers for money. Neither the employees or the manager could care less. No one’s charge at this McDonald’s. Whoever the regional franchise owner is — doesn’t care either because as it’s always been like this. I’m a New Yorker — I’ve dealt with my share of random NY weirdo encounters so I’m not some primadonna whose horrified by homeless folk. This place has a regular flow of episodes revolving around the homeless vs. customers and too many of them are bold or bold and angry if they’re denied spare change. THEYNEEDTOEMPLOY A SECURITYGUARD. The majority of the employees are young girls who aren’t going to confront an unruly homeless beggar harassing the customers. There’s no men employed there and if I’ve seen any, it’s usually a scrawny teen boy. No one’s in charge there — no authority. If you heed my warning and instead decide to go to the outdoor walk-up window stil beware, homeless men are parked there too begging you for change as you wait for your food!!! Overall, the best part in the long run is that with each«dining experience» worse than the last, it helped me get off fast food.

It’s not like I expect a terrific experience out of a McDonald’s but this place really is the worse McDonald’s I’ve ever been to. I would go to any other fast food joint over a McDonald’s but this is all we’ve got in this area that is affordable… and there really is a lot of McDonald’s in NY so you end up at one a lot of the time. The NEVER have ice cream for milkshakes, sundaes ect. Also, there is never any ice in the ice machine. And o they run out of parfaits early in the day. The food is like any other McDonald’s…it’s fast food, what do you want me to say? One thing that really annoys me is they ALWAYS forget something in my order. Probably…70% of the time something is missing and it’s not like I order food for an entire family either so I have no idea how they manage to forget something all the the time. The employees are really terrible at their job. They have terrible customer service skills and they can’t even get the order right majority of the time. They’re definitely in need of retraining, or just an entirely new team in general. I don’t expect them to be smiling. They DO work at McDonald’s, I get that, I wouldn’t exactly be cheery either, but seriously, at least make sure all the items are in the bag before handing it to me. It’s not like I’m that asshole who asks to for no pickles, no bread, and no onions to a mcdouble. Seriously man?! This is McDonald’s not The Yard House. It’s a dollar, you can remove the pickles your damn self. If you can afford Popeye’s a few blocks down, go there(nicer employees, quicker service, less crowded and well GOODCHICKEN!). Or if you REALLY love to walk, just go to Burger King. The only good things I can say are: they’re open 24hrs, they have a play pen for kids and they also have an area for parties as well. Not that any of that benefits me, but it may benefit you.

It’s McDonald’s. The food should be the same as it is at any other. My Southern fried chicken sandwich was meh. Not horrible. And fries were meh, as well. The service was HORRIBLE! They really do have the WORST service of any McD’s I’ve ever been to. And let me tell you, I am a McD’s girl.(I’m relatively fit but in moments of weakness McD’s is my go to) Service really is usually less than mediocre but today it was especially bad. The girl at the counter had my order next to her for like 5 mins while i just stood there to the side(so she could take more orders) and she never told me it was mine! HELLO! its FAST food. Then when i asked another counter girl for ketchup she said«oh, the other girl didn’t have any?» and proceeded NOT to give me ketchup and just kept on doing something OTHER than taking orders and giving me ketchup. Its comical that i’m Unilocaling this. But I just had to. It’s a loud place and some bum will ALWAYS ask you for money. lol i even spotted a Tarot card reader try to solicit his fortune telling services. In a McD’s bind, i will go here. but the workers suck. Well, i did have a hispanic worker at another McD’s once immediately talk to me in his broken Chinese when taking my order. I’m asian. but NOT chinese. WTF is wrong with these people.

While it is definitely not out first — or even 10th — choice of eateries, we somehow always stop here for breakfast on the the 1st morning after I arrive. This time around I got a Big breakfast with hotcakes & the boy got a Big breakfast & a Wild berry smoothie. While we ordered almost the same thing, our food were significantly different sizes. My hotcakes were more lukewarm-cakes & I even found a hair! The smoothie tasted like artificial sweeteners & didn’t have much berry fragments to be found. We really got to find another alternative for breakfast the next time I go over to New York. Oh… and uh… could this be the McDonald’s Jay-Z was referring to in «Empire State of Mind»?

I love the walk-up window, scary though it may be around midnight. But the employees leave a bit to be desired. Their lack of passion and motivation are not at all shocking. It’s McDonald’s, after all. Having absolutely no eye contact and having the food slipped through a little window, I think I now understand how prisoners feel when the guards toss them their meals in isolation.

I can’t rave enough about the fan-frackin’-tastic awesomeness of the Walk-Up Windows. But, other than that, this location has left me wanting more times than not. I don’t expect much when I go into any McDonald’s. But they usually get my order wrong at this location. And they often have issues running my credit card. The staff are pretty nice across the board. And DAGNAB is this one shorty PHYNE!!! The inside of the restaurant is relatively clean. And they work to keep the outside clean as well(I love staring at that li’l shorty as I await my cheat breakfast :-). And they have an indoor playground for the kids, which I appreciate. But…meh. Go if you have to. Otherwise nab a meal somewhere else.

A true Unilocal first of mine, as classy as ever: I am going to be a «First to Review» for a McDonald’s. I’m a little overwhelmed by this, I’m not going to lie. Thank goodness McDonald’s are in such high abundance near any hospital location I happen to work at on any given day. One particular day, my lack of cash did not allow me to stroll to Jou Jou’s to pay an exorbitant five dollars for a fancy smoothie, and though Starbucks was close and a Chocolate Banana Vivanno was tempting, I always feel bad going more than once a day.(Oops…I admitted I go usually once a day. BAD.) Luckily, I was packing plastic and my debit card was saying, «Go to McDonald’s! Try one of their new fruit smoothies!» So, off my friend Dolly and I went… One, it’s HUGE. Two, the lines move quick. THREE, I literally had my fruit smoothie(…and large french fries, because I’m disgusting and feel no shame about what I consume somedays…) within thirty seconds. I am not exaggerating the time. Thirty seconds. It came out so quickly, I actually doubted the order was mine until I compared the receipt on the tray to the receipt in my hand! Oh, and a fabulous Four: This McDs is so clean! Clean tables, clean floors, clean(enough) bathroom, and the décor was nice as well! Chandeliers, candles on the tables, the smooth jazz playing over the Bose speakers… this McDs would have looked great with all of them! But colorful chairs are good enough! Five, there is a «walk-thru drive-thru» on the street. I love those. Perhaps I’ll try it on a non-rainy day… So I’m professing my love for a McDonald’s. It’s public knowledge now. I am a brave soul.
