Great pepperoni slice because they add the pepperoni at the end just before they heat it up for you. They let me sit even though they were closing. Very friendly staff and ample seating in the back.

Good pizza, solid people. The best option for a quick slice in this area. No frills, good sauce and cheese. What is more, I forgot my phone here and came back 1.5h later and they had kept it for me. Thank you, Vinnie!

The chicken roll is the bomb, I like their pizza slices too, big pieces. Pizzas are about $ 4 per slice. The chicken roll was $ 6, enough to fill your stomach.

Simply the world’s best pizza. My brother and I have to have a slice or so every time we go to NYC. A large pie, btw, is LARGE. Go with plain cheese.

Fast, clean, and delicious! Perfect warmth on this cold day. Soccer on the tv in the back.

Thr regular cheese slice used to be pretty good here but through the years it lost its luster and started to fall off.

Came here a few weeks ago for pizza(awesome) and tried the ravioli too, so had to come back to see what else they have to offer. Got the ravioli again and added the chicken parmigiana with a side of spaghetti — delicious! Will definitely come back for more and might try the grandma slice everyone raves about too.

The food was the same as the service… far below average. People keep bragging about how great ny pizza is. If this is the norm then… wow. bland everything in there

Stumbled on the pizzeria while the boss was having dinner next door. This place is nothing to write about about. Started with a grandma slice which was ok, the sauce was a bit sweeter than it should be. The main was a veal parm hero, but there was little veal in the hero. A learning experience at best.

Mariella has to be the best pizza stop near hunter. The staff is very generous and kind and their grandma slice is probably the best one I have tried so far. I always get their veggie slice, which they fill up with a lot of toppings, i.e. way more food than what you paid for. The seating area is very comfortable and they always have soccer games on their TV, which makes the food even more enjoyable.

Awesome! If you’re looking for that classic NYC slice, this is the spot. Pizza slices are fresh, tasty, and huge! It gets really crowded during lunch hours, but they have a large seating area with a TV. Restaurant is clean throughout and service is fast. Can be a bit pricey but it’s worth it.

Love the food, the people behind the counter are really great too. My favorite place to grab dinner on the way home from work. Never fails, always the same good quality food.

Having walked around NYC all day, it was nice grabbing a decent-sized slice of pizza and resting in a spacious room. Because there weren’t a lot of people in the restaurant, it was a chill and relaxing environment to be in. I would give this restaurant 4 stars, only because the cheese pizza that I ordered seemed a bit on the colder side. Other than that, the pizza was a reasonably priced, delicious snack.

I went here for a quick bite to eat when I was in the Upper East Side and I didn’t feel like breaking my bank by trying to go to one of the bistros around here. It’s your typical NYC pizza joint. Good pizza, usually an older crowd of people, soccer games and news playing on every TV. Nothing too out of the ordinary. I ordered a Chicken Roll(chicken, mozzarella, and red peppers) since I wasn’t going to wait 20 minutes for a Calzone but it came out really well! My only complaint is that the prices are a tad bit over-priced BUT given the quality of the food, it’s kind of like you get what you pay for.

Great pizza, fast service, tons of seating! I stopped in while in the neighborhood during the St Patrick’s Day parade, and my Unilocal app led me to Mariella’s. Cheap pizza with very friendly staff that moved the long lunch line crowd through efficiently. They did forget to fire my slice of pizza, but the situation was easily fixed. Yum yum!

NomNomNom… their Grandma pizza ROCKS! Sauce is awesome, crust is light and perfectly done… pass the grated cheese, I’m always down for this pie!

God to I miss East Coast pizza! This pizza may be average to some, but when you live in CA where most pizza is terrible, Mariella’s hits the spot! Cute little place wedged in the middle of the Upper East Side. This was my boyfriend’s first taste of East Coast pizza and he was very impressed!

We stopped here or a slice on our way to the train. I got a Sicilian while the lady got a regular slice. It was regular, but a little more expensive than usual for a slice($ 3) Sometimes a plain slice is what you need and if you’re nearby it’s an option.

How sad it is to have failed despite having renovated almost all of the establishment. Its just plain dirty! Why are they in business… well because its convenient. I am just as guilty with helping keep them here. The Bad: Dirty– they don’t wear gloves, and they hold the pizza and the money with the same glove less filthy hands. sorry but that change of 5 singles were in a strippers«whooo haaa» at some point, so please don’t touch my food with that! no fountain soda!!- a small quick lunch spot that forces you to buy 3 dollar can of soda. defeats the purpose of cheap pizza.(also I have a slight obsession with fountain soda) $ 10 card minimum. If I want a slice of pizza and soda, I shouldn’t be forced to charge more. come on guys don’t be so cheap, they take 5 cents a swipe! Bland food– The pizza itself is a bit bland. Almost cardboardish. Tiny bathrooms. I get it, you have a super huge seating area which is great, but the bathrooms are abnormally tiny. The Good: I guess Ill throw some in there. Fast– the intention is to have a quick lunch, and that they have mastered large seating area– self explanatory Location– for me at least, I can walk from school

Solid 4 stars. I had a «Grandma» slice cause I have not ever had one before and it was good. Doesn’t give you that crisp crust that I judge NYC pizza on but it was tasty. so I had to mix in a plain slice since I was there and that is my ultimate judge of what good NYC pizza is. It was solid. I would really give this place 4+, it is nothing fancy, but if you wanted a solid slice of NYC pizza, this is a great place on Lex to do it.
