We are a New York based out-​patient physical therapy clinic founded by Michelle Rodriguez MPT, OCS, CMPT. Our goal is to help each patient achieve a full recovery and optimal health through personalized, quality care. Our comprehensive method of care integrates orthopedic manual therapy with a holistic approach to long-​term wellness. With additional specialties in dance medicine and rehabilitation, our unique perspective is sought by a broad range of patients, including those recovering from acute injury, those managing chronic conditions, and those seeking improved physical performance. We are the go-​to clinic in NYC, helping dancers, performers, athletes and professionals from the New York area and around the world.

Our Wellness Center also offers acupuncture and massage therapy provided by independent providers who work alongside our physical therapists to provide a full and complete holistic approach to your recovery or injury prevention program.

History

Established in 2008.

At last year’s Academy Awards (2011), Michelle Rodriguez was thanked by Natalie Portman in her acceptance speech for her help in the movie Black Swan.

In 2014 MPG was part of the TV Production «Flesh and Bone» as well as for the documentary about Wendy Whelan not yet released.

We are the PT and health consultants for The Paris Opera Ballet in Paris, France. We are also currently working with a few Broadway productions.

Business Owner

Michelle Rodriguez, MPT, OCS, CMPT is the founder and director of Manhattan Physio Group. She has over 12 years experience as a senior physical therapist working with elite dancers, athletes, performers, musicians, and actors. Michelle graduated with honors in psychology from Amherst College and received her Masters degree in physical therapy from Rutgers University & UMDNJ in 1999, where she was honored with the APTA Minority Scholarship for Academic Excellence Award. She became a certified manual physical therapist (CMPT) through the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in 2004, and attained board certification by the American Physical Therapy Association as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) in 2009.
