Mah Ze Dahr Bakery

So I’m updating my review. I stopped by 20 mins ago to find out that this bakery location is an actual brow shop. And the bakery just called me back and told me that they’re still under construction for probably another month. Which means this store does NOT exist yet, but they do delivery which is why they have 14 reviews on Unilocal right now. So make sure you call them to confirm the opening before going there.

The Brioche Doughnut… This is the only desert I’ve had from Mah Ze Dahr (so far). I can’t express how delicious they are. I can honestly say it’s the most delicious doughnut I’ve EVER eaten in my whole life. A co-​worker brought them in and I ate 3, and then I took 2 home with me. I’ve been dying to have another one ever since. I absolutely love them.

Can order most items online to be shipped by fedex 2 day=reasonable rate & your order items baked fresh, packed, & shipped to arrive still almost warm from the oven!!! I am so glad my friend Imran Sayeed recommended this place! I love the concept and the mix of traditional and modern… zeera biscuit I grew up loving in Pakistan and the hand pastries. Please add savory chicken puff pastries to the mix :)

Their dark chocolate brownie is AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.
I have literally never had such an amazing dark chocolate brownie in my ENTIRE LIFE. Their cheesecake was amazing as well.
Their baked goods are truly unique, and their delivery is great.
I would recommend this place to everyone.

I’ve only ever had their baked good on Jet Blue Mint flights and they are phenomenal!!! I’ve tried the brownie, which is my absolute fave! The bar, which is nutty deliciousness. The marshmallow is absolutely to die for. The perfect combo of sweet and soft. Very light. The chocolate chip cookies are also very good. I have to Make a stop into the bakery for some Fresh treats!

I have had their pastries a few times now. Someone brought a bunch to a party I was at once, and then, because I liked them so much, A good friend brought a whole bunch of their choux to my birthday. Everyone loved them! And also, some delicious chocolate chip cookies — I’m not sure if they offer these every day, they may have been a special, But they were really good too! I can’t wait until they open their retail location, which I hear is coming up soon. I may have to go there once a day!

A friend had sent me a surprise delivery of Mah Ze Dahr goodies one Friday afternoon at work. I received a box of the Brioche Doughnuts and a box of the Dried Cherry Cream Scones. Fortunately, I had co-​workers and a doughnut loving BF to share my sweet fortunes with!
The Brioche Doughnuts had the perfect amount of vanilla pastry cream nestled into pillowy dough and dipped in sugar and ground vanilla beans. The BF loved these so much, I may need to send him a box on every special occasion!
I didn’t love the Dried Cherry Cream Scone at first bite — it reminded me more of a buttermilk biscuit than a scone. However, I decided to give the scone another try later that weekend. After warming one up, I bit into the sugar-​dusted crust and truly appreciated the combination of flavors and textures.
I will definitely be placing some Mah Ze Dahr Bakery orders in the near future!

The brioche doughnuts and choux are both heavenly! If you live in NYC (both of these are only available for delivery in the NYC area), you must try them! I ordered the Heaven in a Box sampler pack from Mah ze dahr for my hubby’s birthday and it was AMAZING. My hubby and I liked every single thing in there…
The peanut brittle is addictive and we couldn’t stop eating it!
The brownies are moist but have an awesome dark chocolate flavor
The shortbread cookies have many layers of flavor-​buttery yet not too heavy
The Mah Ze Dahr bars-​Are so nutty-​I loved them!
The chocolate cookie-​was moist and chewy and soo soo good-​They brownie and the cookie were my favorite!
The chocolate chip cookies-​Also delicious!!!
All in all I think it was worth the price, hopefully I can visit New York and try all these things in person!

We ordered a brioche doughnut pack and a chouxs pack.
The chouxs were really tasteful. A lovely contrast between the thin and slightly crusty outside and the creamy and minimalist but not monotonous filling.
By contrast, the doughnuts were barely OK. From their simple looks I expected at least something light and elevating. The dough pretty much anchors you to the ground. And the granulated sugar around it only makes you shake the doughnut as much as you can before tasting it.
I gave 5 for the chouxs and 2.5 for the doughnuts, took the average and subtracted for 1.5 for the price.
I may still try the sampler for the promise shown by the chouxs, if I get my mind around the transportation costs.

Umber bakes the most delightful treats! I have never tasted anything like these. Whatever you try, it’ll be the best of that thing you’ve ever had… best cream puff, best brownie, and so on. The cheesecake is one of a kind and so unique. I can’t even…

Mah Ze Dahr is my go-​to gift place to send «Heaven-​in-​a-​box» to people in my life who are experiencing a special event or milestone. The confections in the box are appropriately named AMAZING; worth every penny and always received by my friends with an exclamation of «where did you find this bakery; these are the best cookies and bars I have ever eaten.» In short, don’t miss out on Mah Ze Dahr!

Went to pick up a big order from her for my office to try. I didn’t expect Umber herself to come down and hand it to me (and might I say, the woman is gorg) personally. Awfully sweet woman. Usually, with busy schedules correspondences are either non-​existent or curt. She was surprisingly courteous and helpful.
Either way, it’s the food we’re here to talk about and and that I will. My first experience with these were at a food event (Cue Up Summer) and though there wasn’t anything in particularly interesting looking about the Mah Ze Dahr bars or the chocolate chip cookies, they were free (or rather already paid for with the entry fee) so figured I’d try them. MAN were they good. The chocolate chip cookies honestly were a step or two above decent (still pretty damn good) but the bars… oh those bars…(kept thinking about the comic piece «if there were to tell me they put crack in them, I’d think ‘I knew something was in there’ «) The bars though I was expecting a dry, maybe crunchy granola type thing, ended up surprising me. The chocolate and what I suspect is the creamery butter made it just so perfectly soft and delicately sweet that I could probably eat these all day.
Now, the next step was to ask myself, would I be willing to pay the price she charges for it. Well I put my wallet where my mouth was. I bought a stupid amount of the bars for a days worth, the chocolate chip cookies, and the vanilla bean shortbreads. The woman is a goddess; though I’ll be sharing with my office, I’m tempted to tell them to bugger off and have these all to myself.
She is working up to get a store front up in the near future, and if she keeps her product and her demeanor a constant, the competition is in for a world of hurt.
I tend to have a fairly set route of places I go when I show people around the city, or for last second food crawl stuff. This just made it to that must do list.
