I come here often when I need little things like varnish, paint brushes, brackets, sand paper, etc. These guys are really excellent and super helpful. They are always willing to suggest things for you and just generally nice fellas overall. Surprisingly, they have a lot for a medium-sized store and I highly recommend.

Paint heaven. This is an old school paint store that is also up on new products. They have a full range of tints and pigments to mix custom colors into anything-plaster, stain etc… Brian is wonderful. He is extremely knowledgable on paint bases and stains. If you are a woodworker, plaster painter, or furniture designer, this is a great place to have on the radar.

For my apartment renovations, I turned to this«paints and paint sundries» small pop shop for help. M. Schames is family owned and operated. They do have non family members under their employ. The staff is super helpful and friendly. There’s an old school feel to this store in the way business is conducted and how the owners and staff interact amongst each other and with their customers. I mean old school too as far as being closed on the weekends which is usually death to a retail business, since most folks are busy working during the week and use the weekend to run their errands and make their purchases. But, M. Schames & Son Inc. must be doing something right if they can afford to remain closed on weekends(especially in this economy). Prices seem fair. Products are high quality.
