I contacted Brad a few years ago to help me resolve an
international tax issue. The IRS was offering to close the
matter if I paid a 6 figure penalty. Instead, after thoroughly
discussing the pros and cons, we chose to fight it. It took
nearly 3 years but when the dust settled I received a 5 figure
refund! Brad was very diligent and i had complete confidence
in him. I always found him to be cordial and very professional
and attentive to my needs. I would recommend him to anyone
with a complex tax problem.

I went to see Brad to enquire about international tax questions as it is listed on his website as his expertise. Initial consultation requires a $ 150 that he will ask you to pay before you even sit down. For that price, you won’t even be offered a glass of water… He was answering my questions very vaguely, repeating that these are very complex questions that the whole world is struggling to answer (and other similar general statement that sounds smart but doesn’t answer the question asked but definitely waste time), that he would need to research, or yes but maybe no it depends that this is only an initial consultation and to answer these questions i would need to sign a retainer or pay him hourly rate. $ 750 hourly rate and $ 7500 retainer fee to help me further.
So basically, i just wasted $ 150 and 1 hour time with someone who couldn’t answer my questions which are pretty simple, high level, and generic and ask me to sign up for a huge fee when he couldn’t demonstrate his knowledge or expertise in the case that matters to me. Meaning i left his office with the same unanswered questions that i came with. So I will need to ask someone else who might know and will certainly or not charge me another fee…
Before i left he did dare to ask me if i wanted to sign a contract… I obviously declined and he said he wouldn’t want my business anyway (lol so why did he asked me to sign in the first place?) then he rushed to the door to show me the way out. Utterly rude and not a gentleman. I would expect more courtesy, class and knowledge from someone who would expect to charge anyone $ 750 an hour.
Another reviewer wrote «Lacks lawyer knowledge and professionalism. Consumer beware! Scam like practices!» I think she might be right…
On the plus side, nice office location near the rockfeller ice rink if you are into ice skating. ;-)

Refused to even try to explain to me, during a $ 50 initial consultation, the tax laws relevant to my situation, on the grounds that «it’s too complicated, it’s like asking a heart surgeon to explain how the heart works to a layperson».
Another tax attorney has since taken 5 minutes to explain what I needed to know, and much more, and for no initial fee. I’ll be taking my business to them.
