Stopped here a couple of times because it was empty and I wanted to get 2 expensive watches sized, they charged way more than any other place I’ve gone to in Chinatown. I’ve gone to places on the upper east side that charged less. On top of it, when they removed pieces to the watch bracelet, they damaged many of the bars to the point that they won’t be reusable.

my fiancé got the engagement ring here, then we went back for the wedding bands almost a year later together. Sophia is really great and she will gladly answer all of our questions, every time i walk in there even for a short min the staff will give you hot tea. Price wise it is a bit pricer than next door but its really the service that keeps us going. she even called us when the person that adjust the rings are back from vacation so far no complains =]

If you are planning to shop in Luk Fook Jewelry-NYC, I would strongly advise you to think twice before shopping there. Luk Fook Jewelry-NYC is the biggest liar ever. The staffs and the manager started lies after lies. Back to June, my fiancé and I were looking for our wedding rings in Luk Fook Jewelry-NYC. We decided to pick a style we like so much, but Luk-Fook told us that the style would require a custom made order and would not be available until in August. It is ok too. We bought them and paid 90% of the payment the same day. 2 months have passed. Luk Fook Jewelry-NYC supposed to call me for the order status and notify me to pick up in August 10. THEYDIDNOT. So, I made a call on August 15 finally. A staff told me that the wedding rings are there for pick up, and the period allowed for pick up is 2 months from the delivery date, which is 8÷10÷13 — 10÷10÷13. Then, I told the staff that I will come to pick up the wedding rings in late September 2013. On 8÷22÷13, a week later, Luk Fook Jewelry-NYC called and told me that the order cannot be fulfilled and the wedding rings are not yet made. The reason for that is the machinery to make the rings has JUST broken.(Oh yea, the ONLY jewelry workshop for Luk Fook is in Hong Kong, this is what they said). I asked what does that has to do with my rings I ordered back in June 2013. Shouldn’t that been done and set for pickup already on 8÷10÷13? Beside, one of the staffs confirmed the rings are available for pick up on 8÷15÷13. Now, you are telling me you cannot make the rings because the machine has JUST broken? What do you mean JUST broken? You mean today 8÷22÷13? Seriously? Only one machine can make rings in Luk Fook? No craftsmen to craft a pair of simple wedding rings? So, how did you operate your workshop for the last 67 days? Day dreaming? Having cracks parties every single day? Any more excuses? Don’t give me BS. Unless you tell me Luk Fook Jewelry-NYC is a local corner store that operated by scum bags. How can a public trading company provide such a bad services? I ended the call with the staff, and call back for the manager. Honestly, why did you tell me the same $h1t over and over? I need a truth, a real explanation, a fact and tell me that you actually dropped the ball. But you DIDNOT. You even making another lie by telling me the machine were dying and you guys were trying to fix it before. Then, why didn’t you call me and tell me the situation back then? Oh wait, you said the machine has JUST broken. which one is the truth? You even telling me that you can have a craftsman to hand craft the rings but may require extra labor cost. Then, why did not you notify me a month ago? And now, you are offering no extra cost to hand craft the rings? I just don’t get it. Are you fooling me? you even telling me that you will call me back the next day to confirm if the«workshop» can fulfill your offering for a handcrafted rings NOMATTERWHAT. Hello? Ding Dong? Where did you call the next day? I went to Luk Fook because it had a positive image and believe that I would receive a honest, good quality of customer services. What did I get in return? Disappointment, dishonesty, Customer has no brain and waste my time. Bad customer service.

We went to 8 different jewelry stores in Manhattan today, and I have to say, the service here is on par with Cartier and better than the boutique shops on Madison Ave. In terms of design, Georg Jensen and Cartier obviously wins, but in terms of choice of materials(few had as many platinum rings as Luk Fook) and the quality of staff, this was the better choice. They were very patient with us even though we are extremely picky with sizes, design, and budget. Once we picked a right that we liked, we were able to kindly negotiate down the price 29.6%. This required many rounds between our sales rep and the manager, but we had been talking with the sales reps for a really long time, and built a bit of a relationship so they were very receptive to our budget requests. All of the staff in this shop are wonderful people so its ok to be honest with your needs. Their selection was comparable with most of the better boutique shops on Madison and in SoHo, but I knew about this company from my days in Hong Kong and knew I could trust the NY branch to give us two good quality rings. They answered all of our questions in great detail and we could tell they knew their trade and as a result, we are sure to return to this shop for more jewelry in the coming years. But if we do come back, they offer all their customers free cleaning of their rings for life and size adjustments for a year. We are very happy with these two rings and the overall experience with purchasing them and would recommend them over any Chinatown and Madison jewelers.

Don’t trust the price in this store, everything is over priced. It’s good in Hong Kong but not in New York.

We went to Luk Fook after being referred by a friend. Dennis, the manager, was very friendly and he and his staff immediately assisted us. They are very professional and attentive. I was surprised after reading the other reviews. Their jewelry is beautiful and the price is right. We also had to resize and change the metal of the band, and this was done within 1 hour. We had gone to several other stores on jewery row and in chinatown, and we felt Luk Fook had everything we needed.

This shop is a paradise in compare to other jewerly shops in this district. We were looking for an engagement ring about few months ago and friends suggested me to check out those jewelry stores in Ctown, since«there should be more selections over there». Anyways, I am a picky person and look into details of everything… especially for my big investment: an engagement ring. THere are lots of jewelry stores on that street, but not many of those people are knowledgable to all my questions! I went into this store. They have a british way of spelling«jewelry» as «Jewellery» coz they are a foreign company(from Hong Kong)? Nice reno and décor… This distinct them from other stores though they are on the same location. Impression: This is the only store with big smiles and welcoming atmosphere! Staffs are all friendly and dressed in uniforms which makes them looks professional. They are knowledgable and answered all of my questions! They know what they are doing. They offered us free jewelry cleaning! Products: Their styles are so unique with excellent quality! Again, I gotta admit that I am a very picky person(thats what my fiancé has been complaining about… but who cares?) It was a «journey» for searching this engagement ring! I had a style in mind and of course they didnt have that exact style, so I left them with my email. I received their manager’s replies in email the next day with some drawings for my selections. I liked the top part of #1, but the bottom part of #2 with some details of #3… believe me. lol… they amended the drawing and goes on and on for over a month… he was extremely patience. oh btw, he works late, i used to received his emails at midnights! Pricing: True, I found something much more cheaper with other stores… BUT none of those has this kind of quality and styles… if you are a price oriented person, they don’t have the best price in town, but they definately have the best quality! To me, everything adds up: product quality, service, atmosphere, even the background of the company(will they take care of us after the sale is completed?) etc. They suggested me to bring in my ring every 3 months for cleaning and maintanance for free. Till now, they keep up their smiles and friendly attitude. I think it worths every penny! Highly recommended!

I went there few times and I like the service. The price is a little higher than other stores in Chinatown but it has unique style and better quality. It really depends on what you are looking for. If you want to buy gold jewelry I do recommend Luk Fook. For diamonds I prefer designer brand like Tiffany or any jewelry can provide GIA. Service is important. I don’t like the sales to pushy.

Always remember that if they bring out a catalog full of junky stuff like rice cookers and vacuums and say that you can earn points by being a member and then you can earn the junk presented here… Don’t necessarily trust them. Otherwise, these prices aren’t the worst prices in the world. It is pricey compared to the place across the street, but cheaper than many American based jewelers. They have a unique style and unique design that you will not find at the other jewelers. This is very true. This earns all their stars. Truly, based on their unique fashion, they are very much the Tiffany of the East.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I have received from this store for many reasons, and I think it stems from the overall company and not just this particular branch. For the short version, skip to the last paragraph. It is one of the largest names in jewelry in Hong Kong, which is why I always thought I could trust it(I suppose you can say the same for Walmart for discount items, but I do believe that Walmart treats their customers better!). Usually people say they would give a business no stars if they could, but I would actually give them 1 star, if only for their quality designs. However, it’s not like that have a large selection to choose from. I have had many encounters with them. One of them was when I was looking at rings, and I asked one of the sales ladies about various metals and options. She was not very good at answering my questions, and just assumed I could not afford much, which was a mistake on her part. She kept showing me lower quality goods even though I had seen better quality in the window. As if that was not offensive enough. On another encounter, I brought back a jade bangle that I had bought in Hong Kong. While the receipt on it said it was returnable/exchangeable at any Luk Fook branch, the sales manager told me that it was impossible to exchange there. He told me that I should be able to deal with it back in Hong Kong. When I told him that that was unacceptable as the receipt said I could deal with it at any branch, he told me he would call the branch in Hong Kong and see what could be done. An hour later, he called me to tell me he just called the branch and said that nothing could be done. This was absolutely ridiculous, as the time was 6PM in New York, and if he called Hong Kong, it would be 6AM there, and no branches there are open at that time. To add insult to injury, when I finally went to Hong Kong, I was told that I would lose 20 percent of my purchase, as well as 4% for the credit card fee, and on TOP of that, 500HKD for the price of workmanship. I found this absolutely ridiculous, as there are no policies written to that effect on my receipt, but in the end I had to forfeit the money. I then confirmed with the manager at that Hong Kong branch that it was impossible for him to have received a call from the New York branch at 6AM, and asked him to file a complaint for me. A week later I get an email from their customer service department telling me that they are sorry but their New York and Hong Kong branches are unable to communicate with each other through telephone because the time difference is too great. THATWASNOTMYISSUE! My issue was that I was lied to! When I calm down and can write more coherently, I will be writing to the Better Business Bureau to complain about them, but until then, be warned, DONOTDOBUSINESSWITHTHISCOMPANY. They have shoddy policies, and do not back their own claims, as well as protect their employees even when they are obviously in the wrong.
