Lolli by Reincarnation

I think they might be closed now…
I’ve been a fan of Lolli for a few years now. I’ve been to their store and followed new items on their site. Great quality and designs.
Just over a year ago I decided to place an order and after e-​mailing with no response I called and was able to place my order on the phone. I was told that it would take about 2 weeks for my bag to be made, gave them my credit card number, and that was that. After hearing nothing after 3 weeks I contacted them. Apparently their phone only works sometimes because occasionally when I would call and get an automated message saying the number was not in service. I didn’t really get much help on the e-​mail front either. After 2 months of unsuccessful attempts to contact them and no bag, I called my credit card company and got them involved. Almost immediately I received an e-​mail from Lolli saying that my order had been cancelled because of lack of payment. My bag was supposedly ready to ship but wouldn’t because I got my credit card company involved.
I’ve tried contacting them randomly over the last year with no luck. When I was in NY a few weeks ago I walked by their storefront and it’s empty. So who knows what’s going on here. It could have been a great designer with a loyal following, but lack of communication and shady dealings made it nothing but a bad Unilocal review.

DONT GO HERE!!! Sylvie L was RIGHT. They do not deliver when they say they will. I ordered an Obi Belt the day before I wrote my first review and 2 months later still do not have it.

BTW — I also filed a complaint with the BBB after my emails were unanswered and their phone number disconnected. VERY disappointing.

I really can’t think of a store I hate more. They act very nice and friendly when you are in the store, but once you order and pay for your bag –forget about actually ever receiving it! First they lie to you about when your bag will be done, and then they will stop answering your phone calls so you have no way of getting in touch with them.
After waiting 2 months for a bag that they told me would take 2 weeks, Lolli promised me a free bag (in 2 weeks) – I should have know this was too good to be true. When I didn’t get that free bag after 5 months I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Even the BBB was not able to get Lolli to return their calls.
Please don’t order or buy anything from this store!

Please, please do yourself favor and avoid this retail shop at all costs! Yes, the merchandise is lovely, the bags are good quality, and the prices are wonderful, however they will lure you in, encourage you to pay cash, and like me, you will never see anything in return for your money.
The facts: I paid $ 170 for a custom-​made leather bag in May, and was told to expect 2 weeks until it was ready. Fastforward to October, and I have received nothing so much as a phone call in return to my numerous inquiries (and, now threats)! I filed a complaint with the BBB and will keep you Unilocalers posted!

Shon, the store owner/​designer is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and my custom-​made silk dress gets me compliments every time I wear it. The store is cute, and comfy. I have two of the Lolli handbags and they are beautiful pieces. I love the option to customize!

Ok Lolli. I give you back 2 stars now since you finally sent me my f’in sandals. i’m just happy to have them. everybody, buy from lolli IN STORE, do not order anything from them. it takes forever and they never know what is going on!

This store should sell their business model to all other retail stores. Amazing. Literally, the beautiful chick who owns this boutique with her boyfriend deserves a gold medal for unpretentiousness, comfort and sheer friendliness. The boutique is open and airy, and their chihuahua Snoofy runs the place. He’s adorable. The reworked, hand sewn clothing is beautiful… I laid my eyes on a beautiful vintage sunshine yellow and silver brocade top that zipped up the back and had a high waist matching belt unfortunately it was about 2 sizes too small, but she brought over another brocade vintage piece, and before I could even say anything, she turned around and walked away… I said ‘wait, did I do something wrong?’ she said, ‘no honey, I saw your eyes light up when you saw that first piece, and I thought I’d try with something similar, but it just didn’t ignite the same spark in you, so you know what? You can’t force it. I don’t want you buying something you don’t love.’ And with this, I fell in love with a boutique owner…
Her bags are the softest leather you will ever run your hands across… her boyfriend taught her to sew, and they manage to run the entire show themselves, even with orders for these bags flying off the shelves and onto the arms of celebs like Jessica Alba and Cameron Diaz. I scored a free tote bag just for mentioning that I had seen her reviewed on Daily Candy. What a great surprise that was!
And to top it off, this store is not only equipped with a gorgeous bathroom, but there is a tv and video game area for the boys, while you shop!
Genius.

You know how when you go into Barnes and Noble and you can just sit down and read and do your thing? I want this store to be like that. So there’re couches there, old issues of Harpers, vintage Vogues, and any time you’re in the neighborhood just stop by, get some tea, use the bathroom, just say hi. All the clothes here are hand cut and sewn, there are the orignal designs, the bags, and then some vintage reworkings.»

The vintage reworkings were more my style than the Lolli designs, but I’m just not big on crochet. The cropped leather military jackets were pretty hot, though. Baggy purses, also cute. I found a 1940’s slip, dyed November grey. A bit too big. I pinched it here and there, pulled at the straps. Too big.
«Pumpkin, are you still trying to make that fit? Tell you what. There’s a tailor across the street. Take it over there, have him pin it up, give you an estimate, and then bring me back the receipt for the alteration. I’ll knock that much off the purchase price. No, you don’t have to pay for it ahead of time, I trust you, it’s cool.»
Oh, and there’s jewelry. When I came back from the tailor, I picked out a vintage scarab brooch strung on a leather necklace. And got a free canvas tote bag in the process.
Grand total for 1940’s silk full-​length slip dress, alteration, jeweled brooch necklace, and tote bag? $ 70.
Beautiful clothes, friendly shop, if I could give six stars I would.
