Live! with Kelly and Michael

Why does this show still have «Live» in its title? It seems as if its been months since they’ve done 5 days in a row of full live shows. And it’s no where near as good taped. Once I see the «previously recorded» notice on the bottom of the screen I turn it off. Whatever happened to having guest hosts on if one if the hosts can’t be there? I know Kelly and Michael must have busy lives, but stop half assing your show with pre-​recorded whole shows and even pre-​recorded segments in otherwise live shows (you’re not fooling us, we can tell). Fine every once in awhile, but it’s gotten a little ridiculous. It’s funny (not really) when they pretend it’s really live during host chat also. Do you think your tv audience is that dumb? The show is taped the whole month of August and most of the summer because Kelly has to travel the world and hang at her Hamptons house, for 2 weeks in December for the holidays and for another week or 2 during the year. If Kelly and Michael can’t or won’t work 5 days a week the rest of the time, it’s time to reassess your show, because it’s becoming a joke.

We came around 6 am and there was already a line. There’s a Starbucks across the street which is a great location considering how many cold and tired people there are lined up every morning. We waited in the general line til about 8:40 when they started letting us in. We got seats in the front row but on the side so the camera man blocked our view the entire time. Michael and Kelly were really sweet and took pictures with people in the audience but they didn’t have time to take pics with everyone and unfortunately everyone was saying it was their birthday (coincidence… Hmm…) and so it was hard to get a pic with them. They were funny and nice to the audience. Kelly disappeared a lot during commercial breaks but I guess she was touching up while Michael made jokes with the audience. Stanley Tucci came on when I was there and Wesley Snipes was supposed to be there but he had pretaped his interview another day which you’d never know on TV because Kelly and Michael wore the same exact clothes in the interview as they did during the live show. Kelly went and changed again into clothes for another day and they interviewed some up and coming actress which will air on another episode. Once the show was over Kelly darted out of there and Michael was gone really quickly too. It was disappointing because people wait in the cold for almost 3 hours to see them and I feel like they could’ve stayed another 15 minutes to take more pics and say hi. I get that this is their life everyday but the fans are the reason you have a show in the first place. Their security crew was really rude to the audience but the production people and camera men seemed nice. Once the show was over they ushered everybody out and nobody was allowed to take pics afterwards in front of the stage or in front of the Kelly and Michael signs. They make you leave through their garage which is full of props. I feel like they could change some things around to make their fans feel more appreciated but overall we all came to see Kelly and Michael and they were just as charming in person.

Seeing a tv show taping is something you have to do once in your life and Live! with Kelly and Michael is one of the best. You reserve your tickets online beforehand and they are free. The day that you go you stand on line for about a half hour and they give you muffins, coffee, etc and it is complimentary. You then go into the studio and wait for the show to start and the executive producer Michael Gelman gives you the run down. The actual show is very different from when you are in the studio then when you are watching it from home because you get to see what happens behind the scenes. During commercials Kelly and Michael interact with the audience and they are extremely kind to the audience members. In fact they will take pictures with you if you ask! If you have a chance to be in the Live! with Kelly and Michael studio audience definitely go!

Had a great time visiting the show on a Monday morning. They usher you into your seats about 8:45am. Gelman comes out a few minutes before the show starts and gives you directions on how to cheer. Kelly and Michael interact with audience during the commercials. The hour flies by. We stayed for three additional segment tapings which took an hour due to clothing changes for the hosts. They allow you to go to the restroom before the show and also when there are extra segments to tape. they don’t tell you who the extra guests are until they call them out to interview them. That is their hook to get you to stay and watch the extra taped segments. It was a great time, and I would go again.

Had a great time at the show. Kelly was super nice and talked to fans during commercial breaks and after the show. (Michael was on vacation, so we missed him.) The seating was good, but unfortunately, the camera was smack in our line of vision. Kelly even talked with my daughter and took a pic with her. It was really fun! Wear a coat, as you stand outside and it was snowing on March 30^th when we went! Great time!

I got the tickets through 1iota. My friend and I must have been very lucky this day because we not only saw Mark Walberg and Nick Jonas, but we also so Idina Menzel and Sting! They were filming multiple episodes, which we were not complaining about. Kelly and Michael were so great and even came around to take photos with audience members. I highly recommend attending because why not?

On my week long visit to New York, I managed to get two pairs of tickets to Live! with Kelly and Michael and The View. I was looking forward the most to seeing Kelly and Michael, but I have to say the The View was a much better experience IMO.
Besides the fact that you have to get to the show, by 7:15 am at the latest — you’re encouraged to start standing in line earlier. I decided to get there at 6:30 am, by about 7am, security was kind enough to let us in, because it was nearly 5 degrees that day. Not only do they pack you in like sardines to get most people in, but they make you stand there for 1.5 hours — they don’t start seating you till 8:30am. Whereas at The View, they let you in at the time promised on your ticket and let you sit in the cafeteria till they’re ready to sit you. On top of that, they give you a drink and a snack!
I must admit, I haven’t seen the show since it was Live! with Regis and Kelly — but the show is pure cheese. What totally ruins the show is their executive producer MICHAEL GELMAN.
If you happen to see the show live — pay close attention to his constant eye rolling, while parading around talking down to his staff. It’s pretty disgusting, and it ruined the whole show for me. In addition, he makes the crowd feel even more unappreciated, by eye rolling every time the crowd didn’t CHEER on his command. Yes, we just love to take time off and stand in the cold, so that we can work for you.
Never again, no thanks! I will not waste 4 hours of my day for pompous Gelman.

I read a lot of reviews prior to coming to the show, so I thought I would post a review about my experience. Every review said be there before 7:15, but we missed the subway and we were late! We arrived at 7:20 but still made it in. They arranged a spot so we were able to sit. The staff was SO kind and helpful! Kelly and Michael were so kind to the audience and even took selfies. We went during the holidays and were able to stay for two tapings. This is a must if you are in NYC!!!

Crazy Bernie has been able to watch the taping of this show several times since it became Live w kelly & Michael. Also before many times when Regis was part of its name. Since I advertise with ABC in Fresno which is owned by Disney I can acquire passes when I travel to NY for pizza. Always enjoy the taping. It is early to get up if you’re on pacific time so don’t plan on going your first morning in NY.

Went yesterday to the show. We enjoyed Kelly & Michael but I could have done without standing outside in rain for over an hour even with a Priority ticket. There was nothing Priority about those tickets. Our seating was obstructed by cameras the whole show & the only monitor for us to watch on our side of the studio was so small, it was no bigger than my flat screen tv at home .I’ve been to other shows & I felt that the audience had no boundrys at this one. Every time there was a commercial break they got out of their seats. We even had a phone going off behind us during one if the celebrity interviews & little to nothing was done.

Best Halloween show ever today. The whole cast was great! Costumes were awesome. ‘Accents’ were excellent. I usually don’t laugh when watching the show but today I laughed several times. EXTREMELY well done! :o))))

My mom and I went and had a blast! While we waited in line, a truck offered free coffee and breakfast. The line moved in quickly and we didn’t wait too long to be seated. We were in the front row high fiving the guests which was so fun. Before the show they decide who their audience dancer is during trivia and everyone got excited during that. The hosts were interesting. Michael rocks during commercial breaks! He gets very comfortable with the audience! A little hard to hear the hosts at points but all in all a fun experience!

So when I found I was going to New York for work I tried to request tickets but they were all booked. Then two days before I was leaving something opened up (so keep looking back).
I arrived at 6:30am as admission is not guaranteed (my ticket said to be there by 7:45). Unfortunately, I found that most of the people in line had priority tickets I just had «general» tickets. After ½ an hour they asked general and «stand by» (people who just showed up) to stand in a separate line. Be aware if you go… It is a roped off line, next to the other line. People were moving through and we got stopped with only three people in front of us. After ½ an hour nothing happened and we were resolved to not being able to get in. Oh well, but suddenly… the moved us through. Yea. I also think that most of the line got in but it was a slow guest day with only one guest as they added some previously taped segments. About half way through the show, I got moved to fill in an empty seat in the front row. I got to shake the guest’s hand as they came out (Katherine Mcphee) and get on tv. Then I moved back up to my fifth row seat since it was hard to see in the first row. The best part of the taping is how nice and genuine both Kelly and Michael were even during the commercial breaks. They talked to the audience and were so funny and engaging. Loved it! They offer free breakfast while you wait in line too.

I hated it, but I took one for the team and took my mother who scored the tickets. She loved it and really made her NY experience. Always interesting how these shows are filmed. The staff was very professional an friendly and Kelly came up into the audience and greeted her fans which pleased my MOM.
My advice is get there early for the line and because she tapes very early in the morning and make Starbucks across the street your friend…

My Mom is a huge fan of the show, so I had to get tickets for a taping when we visited NYC together earlier this year (January 2014).
Booking the tickets themselves was simple through 1iota, and I had no problems getting passes for the date we needed.
The day of the taping, we showed up at the studio around 7 a.m. to an already very long line. It was the week before the Super Bowl and the cold wasn’t stopping anybody.
Being among the last ones in line, we resigned ourselves to the likelihood of getting crummy seats. Once inside the lobby, we were crammed in the rear near the reception desk.
A nearby security guard told us, «When a woman comes around offering first-​row balcony seats, raise your hand.»
That’s what we did, and suddenly we were in a group being escorted past the other audience members to the backstage area where we were told to wait while one of that day’s guests, Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees, finished rehearsing.
We were the first ones allowed into the studio, and the view from our seats was pretty damn good. We had a perfect view of almost everything in the studio. We also had beach balls under our chairs to throw at the hosts. Mine was soooo close to nailing Kelly in the noggin’. Damn it.
We made it on TV several times, and a guy sitting next to us won the audience prize that day.
As we left, there were people standing outside begging us to come to a taping of Katie Couric’s daytime talk show, but we were hungry and tired and had Letterman later, so we passed.

My sis got the four of us tickets online as we were going to be in NYC for 3 ½ days. We took the subway uptown around 6:40am to ensure we’d be in line by 7:15am.
Of course we arrived and the line is relatively long already. Maybe 50 people ahead of us. We skipped across the street to Starbucks while the hubbies held our spots.
Make sure you finish whatever you’re drinking and eating as there’s no food or drink allowed inside ABC.
We are let inside the building where we stood waiting some more. Total wait time is about 1 hour 45 minutes. (Plenty of time to go to the restroom. Ladies stalls = 2). Was the show worth it? We didn’t think so at first. We were in the first bunch but ended up in the second row off to the left where you could barely see Kelly and Michael. Fortunately a staff person asked us four did we want to sit upstairs for a better view? Heck yeah. We scurried upstairs and got to sit in the first row and be able to toss the beach balls down later.
And we got 3 seconds of air time as Kelly was reading about the top destinations ranked by TripAdvisor. San Francisco being #2 with NYC being #1. We made some noise from upstairs and they aimed the cameras at us. Kelly and Michael looked in our direction but we couldn’t make eye contact due to the camera lights.
During the breaks between tapings, Michael interacted with the audience via a mike. Kelly walked around on the main floor and engaged selectively.
I guess you don’t need to come too early to grab good seats as the staff is instrumental in placing folks in the audience. There must be some kind of strategy.
It was fun but once in a lifetime is good enough. As we exited outside, folks from The View and Katie shows asked did we want tickets? Nah, who wants to spend so much time indoors while NYC has so much to offer?
Hope we didn’t miss out on any swag bags though!

It’s fairly easy to get tickets however you don’t know who the guest will be until about a week before. You have to get here pretty early so it’s a long day. Unfortunately part of the show I was at was prerecorded, so it sucked bc for a half hour we just sat there. Michael was super friendly and Kelly was ok. Make sure you get there before the 7:15 check in time if you want to sit downstairs bc upstairs is super cramped and you won’t get the chance to interact with Kelly or Michael. I’ve been to other show tapings and this was kind of blah in comparison. Needless to say I will not be coming back in the future.

For my birthday I went to see Live! with Kelly and it was fantastic. Mark Consuelos, her husband, was her co-​host and it couldn’t have been more perfect. With their newly remodeled studio you felt like you were transformed into TV land. And GOD Kelly is thin!
Unfortunately we arrived late, so our party was separated and I had an obstructed view. :(And, half the audience is annoying middle Americans or smelly euros so that wasn’t too much fun.
As for the show, it was great. Kelly was so interactive during commercial breaks and made it a point to come over to the audience several times to express her gratitude to her fans. The live music by Daughtry was awesome! I always hated them before (all their songs sound the same) but man they are awesome live.
I would go see it again but try to swing VIP through one of my media contacts. VIP get front and center and most likely a picture with Kelly.

«Live! WIth Regis & Kelly» will be coming to an end this Friday November 18, 2011. I write this review in homage to a decade long daytime show.
While on a trip to NYC years ago, I got tickets to «Live! With Regis & Kelly» through a friend hook-​up. So there was no waiting and right into the studio we went! It definitely pays to know someone. We got front row seats and anxiously waited for Regis and Kelly to make their appearance. They came out and introduced themselves to the audience, shaking hands and chit chatting with everyone. I’m always fascinated when I meet celebrities in real life. Not because I’m starstruck, but because they’re always different from what they look like on TV.
Kelly Ripa: Gorgeous and fairly perfect. Like a life sized Barbie, that you wish you could hold in your hands and start brushing her blonde hair. Weird, but if you ever meet her in person, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I am a petite girl at 5’2″ and weigh about 100 lbs. Kelly is about my height but she is crazy tiny. So you can imagine what that must look like! She turned sideways and you almost couldn’t see her. LOL. I looked up Kelly’s DOB on Wikipedia while writing this review and she’s 41. Damn Kelly, you are my freaking hero and I am going to work on my MILF status asap!
Regis Philbin: He is about the same size at Kelly which means he’s very short. I secretly think that he is an alien because that’s the only way for me to explain how he’s now broken his own Guinness World Record for the most hours of television appearances. I also looked up Regis’ DOB. He’s an astounding 80 years old! Damn son, that is some crazy hustle. The great thing about Regis is that when audience members wanted to take a photo with him he was more than happy to oblige.
The show guest was Liv Tyler and she was gorgeous! Oh and she’s insanely tall, like a giant with man hands!
Now when I watch «Live! With Regis & Kelly» on TV at home, I always think back to what the set looks like in real life. It was a very fun experience and definitely one of the highlights of a great NYC trip! Not sure who’ll replace Regis but until that day, the show will go on to be called «Live! With Kelly.» Who comes up with these names anyway?
