A very trustworthy transport company and I highly recommend to anyone. They were able to transport my vehicle safely from NJ to AZ. I’ve talked to Eric, he was very patient and thorough during the process. Cam was the driver, a very hardworking and honest man. He gave me updates of where he was and delivered my vehicle earlier than expected and without a scratch.

If I could give 10+ stars I would! Eric was absolutely wonderful. Very kind, attentive, and honest! This is my first having my car shipped, and on extremely short notice. I contacted Eric on Monday and able to set up the pick up in a day!

I spent a lot of time researching and calling many shipping companies, and without a doubt I found Knickerbocker to be far more professional, communicative, transparent and trustworthy than anyone else. I immediately felt at ease. Not only was the car delivered perfectly, but Knickerbocker went way above and beyond expectations to resolve a specific issue I had, at significant expense to Knickerbocker, in order to ensure that I was a happy customer and satisfied with the service. I can promise that NOBODY else, no other shipping company, would have resolved this situation with the poise and tact that Knickerbocker exhibited. I am 100% sure that anyone else would have told me «too bad», but that is not Knickerbocker’s philosophy — they stand behind their service and take responsibility.
This was a complex shipment of an exotic car in an enclosed carrier, with little advance notice. Within hours of calling Knickerbocker I was provided with multiple options to get the vehicle from Las Vegas to New York, and was able to choose the truck/​driver I felt most comfortable with. Within just 1 – 2 days the car was picked up, and then delivered to me in perfect condition less than a week later on the other side of the country. I was in contact with Knickerbocker the entire time and knew exactly where the driver was. I was even able to speak with the truck driver, which is very rare in these situations!

Called Knickerbocker based on Unilocal reviews to ship my car from Queens to the SF Bay Area. Eric was happy to work with my schedule and interesting logistics to present a number of options. I ultimately chose one that would allow me to drop my car off at a facility in North Bergen at my convenience, and have the car delivered with relatives on the other side. This was also the more economical option due to the carrier being able to avoid the time and cost of coming into Queens. The trip took a week, just as expected. I spoke to Eric a few times throughout the process and he was extremely responsive and courteous each time, no matter how silly my questions may have been.

NJ to FL: Have to agree with everyone else that gave rave reviews for KAT. Eric was awesome. He kept me well informed and did not charge me until the car was delivered. The car arrived in mint condition and on time as promised. I’d rather pay premium to have KAT handle these «brokers» or auto transport companies that may swindle you out of $ or make every excuse for why they couldn’t pick up your car on such and such date.

I searched the internet for auto transport to take my car and my wife’s car from the Hudson Valley of New York to Sedona, Arizona. I got quotes from a number of companies, from about $ 1150 to $ 1975, with most quotes coming in between $ 1750 and $ 1850. When I looked at the reviews for the lowest quote, they were not good. Reviews for other companies were not so good either. So I looked on Unilocal,and read very good reviews for Knickerbocker Auto Transport.
The owner, Eric Sailer, was extremely informative. I learned from him that to get our cars from the Hudson Valley of New York to Sedona at a reasonable price with a guaranteed on-​time pickup, and a short delivery time to Arizona, that I should do the following, which is what I did:
I drove my car to an auto transport lot in New Jersey, not far from the Lincoln Tunnel. From there, I took a quick bus ride to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. And from there, I took a bus back to the Hudson Valley. My wife did the same thing. It took about six hours total. On the other end, I had to get a ride from a neighbor to meet the truck carrier at the exit ramp just off the highway, which was a half hour from Sedona. So it did require some time and effort on my our part, but we thought it was worth it to save about $ 750 per car. I didn’t have to worry whether the auto carrier would pick up my car when he said he would, and my car was delivered in less than one week’s time.
Eric Sailer, the owner of Knickerbocker Auto Transport was straight with me, knowledgeable, and friendly. He communicated well by email and by phone all along the way from pickup to delivery. My wife and I couldn’t have been happier.
Now this is not to say that the transport of your car would not be easier because you were shipping from an easier location to an easier destination.

I was a little nervous using a third party instead of working directly with a shipper, but Eric & KAT were fantastic every step of the way. Shipped our car from NJ to CA and he coordinated everything and had the most competitive price I found. Recommended.

I’m so happy I chose Knickerbocker Auto Transport. I just moved from Northern NJ to SF, CA and the move was very stressful. The easiest part about the entire move was shipping my car.
I researched many companies and Knickerbocker was the only one which didn’t have nightmare reviews. I called and spoke to Eric, who was incredibly helpful and informative. We worked within the time frame I needed. The car was picked up late evening on Mon ⁴⁄₂₇ and arrived in SF on Thurs night ⁴⁄₃₀ — much faster than my moving trailer.

I wanted to concur with all of the other reviews on Unilocal.I also shipped my car from NYC to Seattle (maybe this is a specialty of Knickerbocker?) and had a great experience. I’d been previously working with another shipper who I don’t think was a scammer, but was unresponsive and didn’t work very quickly, leaving me rather nervous. I found Knickerbocker through a word of mouth listing (not even a recommendation — just on a list of automotive businesses that was circulating among friends.) So I called them on a whim as they were based in NYC.
Eric was helpful and explained the industry well, similarly to what Jack O. described. Within a day or two he had found a carrier to bring my small vehicle cross country in January, which isn’t necessarily easy. I was given the driver and dispatcher’s phone numbers and they were responsive and helpful when I called them 2 or 3 times during the shipping period to check in on the vehicle’s location and ETA.
I do believe they are selective about the carriers they use. Their website says they a «carrier not a broker,» but in this case they seem to have worked more like a broker due to the route and the time of year being uncommon. I had a good result, and experience but just wanted to clarify this point, and also with the caveat that there may be something in the terminology I’m not understanding. But as far as I know, they served as a broker, and weren’t using their own vehicle. Whatever the fine details of that may be, the result is that my car arrived in the designated window of delivery (and given the time of year, delays would be expected and not necessarily a carrier’s fault) and it cost exactly what I was quoted. No hidden fees or delays… very easy.
I was really terrified of the auto shipping industry after reading many horror stories, and am totally happy with Knickerbocker and the company they contracted to ship my vehicle. If I ever need to do this again I will use them, and will recommend them to friends and acquaintances forever and ever.

Eric really came through. The process was simple and was all done on the phone. The car was picked up within a couple of days and delivered the very next day. The carrier Eric found was courteous and punctual. The expression «you get what you for» clearly applies here. Highly recommend.

I am shocked at how seamless getting a car shipped from Chicago to New York. Eric was extremely helpful and communicative and explained everything in detail. We were able to do a pickup and drop off for the scheduled dates in sub zero temperatures. I am extremely impressed.
Knickerbocker is a little more expensive than other brokers and shippers but I can guarantee that their service is worth every penny.

Before I talk about KAT, I want to give a little preface about this industry. I did a LOT of research when I needed to ship a car cross country and if you need to do something similar you should take a moment to understand this:
Auto transport is the scummiest, sleaziest, dirtiest, most embarrassing excuse for an industry I’ve ever seen. I researched ~20 companies and each one seemed to be worse than the next. Online reviews and horror stories for these businesses are so awful and so prevalent that some of these slum lords actually have tried to sidestep Unilocal or Google reviews and make their own fake review sites where they lavish their own poor service with bogus ratings.
I would rather deal with telecoms or credit card companies rolled into one any day of the week over some of these guys.
So that’s the competition. The bar is set so low you can trip over it.
Eric and KAT are not cheap. It cost me $ 1,600 to go from the tri-​state area to the pacific northwest. Probably ¼th the value of the actual car.
But they got it to me without a scratch in less than a week (ahead of schedule) — and were reachable throughout the entire process. I never once felt like the car was in jeopardy.
Bottom line is, what good is a lower quote if you don’t have confidence you’ll see the car again in the shape you left it? At the same time, what good is shelling out if you aren’t sure about the guys you’re shelling out to?
KAT is on the level — and in an industry where being a cheat is standard operating procedure. For that alone, I would recommend them.

I can’t say enough nice things about Knickerbocker. I needed my parent’s car transported immediately from NJ to CA. My parents had hired 2 different transport companies and both companies took deposits and never showed up to pick up the car. (Do NOT use Auto Transport 123 or Affinity Auto Carriers Inc.)
If you call knickerbocker, the owner Eric will walk you through the process. He is completely honest. The driver he provided was professional and courteous. Eric and the driver and the dispatcher were constantly in touch. The price was exactly as he quoted. Car was picked up and delivered when they promised. Would use them again in a heartbeat.
