Karina Paz- Event Planner and Coordinator

Karina is a gem. When you start planning your wedding, it’s so refreshing to find someone who doesn’t give off those dreaded «wedding industry» vibes. Karina would be someone I’d recommend to anyone looking for an event planner or coordinator, based off numerous weddings I have staffed alongside her. One wedding I remember, there were about eight guests with children that came without RSVPing. She quickly arranged for an additional table to be set up and made what could have been a disaster into a non-​event.

From start to finish the process of working with her was relaxing, friendly and fun SHe was an incredible listener and was able to produce exactly what i wanted.
The planning process was stress free. She was quick to reply to email and answered my many questions. I felt like i had total control in the process. It was able to be so well organized that on the BIG day her team operated like a well oiled machine.
On the wedding day i was able to relax and enjoy my day. I didn’t have to worry about a thing. And since i am a control freak that is saying a lot!

Karina helped plan our wedding at Axis Café in May 2011. She was exactly the type of person I wanted/​needed to work with during wedding planning — she was professional, yet had a calm vibe about her. It was very comforting, and quite needed in the world of wedding planning! She seemed to know exactly what I wanted with my vision of a fun, relaxed, yet pretty and chic wedding. Karina was totally on top of her game with coordination and organizing the logistics and also recommended some great vendors — you can tell a lot of the vendors liked working with her.
So, the one thing a bride fears on her wedding day happened to me — an unexpected downpour — and all of our plans had to be changed (cocktails/​dancing/​DJ setup was supposed to be all outside). Surprisingly, I was fine about it mostly because Karina made everything run smoothly regardless. Everything was re-​routed inside, and she continued to keep her calm demeanor, shrugging and laughing like «can you believe this?», which made me less inclined to freak out than I normally would have :) Our guests had a great time and remarked about how cozy and intimate the reception was since we were all indoors!
In short, if you are looking for an event planner who is creative, professional, can turn lemons into lemonade, all while keeping you relaxed and sane — do not hesitate to hire Karina!

Karina was the fairy godmother of my wedding. My husband and I worked with her to plan our wedding in San Francisco in October of 2012 and I can say with complete confidence that our planning would not have gone nearly as smoothly without the help and support of Karina. When we first met her, we had nearly already planned a wedding in Palm Springs that fell apart after we had a poor experience working with the venue coordinator. When we met Karina she was like a breath of fresh air. She helped accommodate every need and navigated our wishes with complete professionalism. By the time we had our final meeting on the week of the wedding, she had the décor, schedule and flow of the event completely memorized. I knew that in her hands, all would go according to plan. And it did! Karina has a very calming, everything-​is-​going-​to-​be-​ok demeanor. On your wedding day, that’s exactly the type of person that you want to be working for you and being by your side.

Karina is outstanding. She worked with my husband and me to plan a somewhat off-​beat wedding party. (We had gotten married at City Hall two months prior. This event was the substitute for a formal wedding ceremony & reception, so it afforded us a lot more freedom to do some fun things… but still required a level of formality and sophistication to justify friends & family flying in from all over the country.)
From the first moment we met Karina, she was genuinely interested in what we were envisioning. When we gave her the broad parameters of the kind of event we had in mind, she quickly picked up on what we were going for and suggested several great ideas we hadn’t even thought of. She was able to accommodate pretty much every request we had («You want to have an 80s-​music VJ? No problem! Rent a bouncy-​house /​jumpy-​castle to set up out front for the kid-​guests? Can do! Court-​room sketch artist rather than a wedding photographer? Sure — why not?!»).
As the date of the event approached, Karina kept us in the loop with all the latest developments without being overbearing or overly involved. She also managed our vender arrangements flawlessly, and let my husband use his coding-​fu to set up a system on-​site where our guests could take photos with their smartphones at the event, email them to a dedicated account, and have them pushed to a projected slide-​show in real time. Awesome!
We are sad that Karina has moved so far away because we’d hire her again in heartbeat for any future events. It’s wonderful that more people will be able to benefit from her skills, though. She’s a gem!

I own a bakery and have worked with Karina on several weddings over the years. I love working with her because she is organized and on top of everything! Karina is warm, fun, practical, honest and has great attention to detail. She doesn’t stress out (or doesn’t show it at least!) and her events are always just beautiful. My only regret is that she moved away and I don’t get to work with her anymore!

My husband and I worked with Karina to plan our wedding and reception in San Francisco. From our initial conversation to planning the menu to liaising with multiple vendors to arranging the décor, Karina made sure our wedding day was seamless.
She was super responsive, always helpful with a suggestion or two (or five — her experience helped us hire the right people and make decisions on things we wouldn’t necessarily have thought about) and incredibly easy to work with.
It was more than just a working relationship, we really felt like Karina cared about us and making our wedding day as awesome as possible. If that was her goal, she achieved it in spades and I would happily work with her again on any event.

Karina took over our wedding reception planning midstream as our original planner moved away. We felt trepidation given the circumstances but Karina put our worries to rest. Professional and honest, hard working and flexible, she made our wedding reception a night to remember! Thank you Karina!!!
