LIT LIT LIT!!! This place is awesome. Used to be located in the Flatiron district, now on UES.
The window is lit up like Las Vegas. When I walked in, I felt like I died and went to heaven.
Every kind of light bulb imaginable. The nicest staff: Jason, Shorty and Kathy on the register.
Incredibly knowledgeable and patient. Will demo anything you want to see.
It’s a little like navigating through a doll house. Narrow aisles with pull out shelving and secret compartments. Like finding hidden treasure. Prices amazingly affordable.
Anyway, recommend to all because online shopping never allows you to experience the
lighting and glow. Hats off to wonderful people. Want to share this with the world!

Came here at 5:56 PM on a Tuesday night to be greeted at the front door with «We’re closed» …and pointing to a sign on the door that read the store was closing early, at 6pm, for a meeting.
Understandable, businesses need to have meetings… but that message could have been delivered in a more friendly way. All I wanted was some simple string lights, that would have taken all of 2 minutes, but I was just simply shooed away. I won’t be planning on attempting a future visit.

I needed an adapter for some bulbs I bought for a fan with odd-​sized sockets. I brought a picture of the bulb and they sold me the adapters but when I got home, they were just a bit too small. I then decided to do what I should have done in the first place and bring the bulb to the store. They were able to help me quickly and though the receipt says all sales were final — and I was willing to just eat the cost of the extra adapters because it was my fault for not bringing the bulb the first time — they exchanged the adapters without question. I was very grateful that they were so helpful and understanding.

Last year, the circular double bulb in my kitchen blew out. I had never heard of the manufacturer, so went to the web. Found Home Depot had the universal bulb. MY PUNISHMENT for going cheap, it didn’t fit, it wasn’t universal. I emailed the manufacturer who gave me my local store, I couldn’t get there on time, Accidentally, I walked into this store. An old fashioned PACKED TO THE BRIM with every light bulb possible store. The staff greeted me and answered each of my questions. I walked out with the correct bulb and a priceless education, Later, I went to my dads home and counted all the cfl bulbs he wasted money on. I called the store and ordered the LED bulbs and over the last 3 months I have been replacing bulbs as they die. OMG talk about true WHITE and incredible quality. Granted I paid a fortune but once the electric bill shows the savings it is worth it. THANK YOU … THANK YOU… btw I tell everyone who works in NYC to shop at your store.

Just Bulbs has a *huge* selection of light bulbs. Every inch of space, floor to ceiling, is crammed with different bulbs. The salespeople are very knowledgeable and friendly, and will demonstrate different bulbs for you before you buy.

I’m a little surprised by the number of negative reviews. It’s a tiny store and every time I’ve been there, there’s usually been a customer or two. The store can’t handle a long line of customers so I’m not surprised they’re abrupt on the phone if a line is forming. Sometimes the service people want isn’t possible.
But on the store, I’ve always found them helpful and rich in supply. Yes, Amazon is a lot cheaper, but you don’t get to see different color options at Amazon and yes, the service can be abrupt, but if you need something today and know what you want, this is the store to go to. I’ve found them very useful. I’d give them 5 stars for supply, but their prices are a little high, so 4.

A rip off. I went in for LighTech LET-​75-​LW Electrical Transformer, 12V 75W Dimmable which costs $ 20.10 delivered elsewhere and they charged me $ 35.50 plus an other $ 2.50 overcharge for a socket.
If you want it right a way you have to pay, otherwise go on line and wait for delivery. The cashier was pleasant but the arrogant stock clerk (or who ever he was) went out of his way to be difficult. Went to 220 East 60^th and saw another storm not knowing that five stores had the same address, so I called and when I asked if they were still at 220 East 60^th Street, the rude mad said «yeah» and hung up.
Place is wall to wall stuff!

Went in (not) for a bulb but to inquire where to get a canopy for my chandelier. The owner who was screaming at someone one the phone, put his hand over the phone & with authority named a place & address.
I went there & they had no idea what I was talking about!!!
Go figure!

I’m not sure why people complain about this place. But this is a place that sell light bulbs. If you need a bulb, they have it. The owner and workers may not be as «nice» as a waiter, but they sell light bulbs. What do you want?
With that being said, I’ve been here twice and each time I got what I wanted, quickly and politely. I found the light bulb within 2 minutes. Confirmed the type with the owner and got a small jolly rancher while being rung up.
If you need a bulb, Just Bulbs had the bulbs you need. Sure they won’t wipe you back to front, but are you there for bulbs or for someone to cater to you like an adult to a child?
If you must lust for bulbs, Just Bulbs for ya! If you want hand holding, go to Home Depot or K-​Mart

Just Bulbs has such a great selection. The people there are always helpful and friendly. Recently when they were out of a bulb I needed to exchange, they delivered it to my apartment. This is how you run a business.

Terrible customer service.
I never post bad reviews but today I must. Just got yelled at by the «electrician» owner of the place. I had dropped off a fixture for repair and requested an estimate before they fixed it. Was told the electrician would call me. He never did. When I called a week later to find out, they said it was fixed already. Naturally surprised to hear this, I asked for a call back from the electrician. Never got this call either. Walked into the store 2 days later (today), explained my frustration, was blown off by the electrician who said he did call me (even though he didn’t). Paid anyway, then continue talking to the receptionist about why I was upset, at which time the electrician told her to put me on a list of customers they will no longer service! Unbelievable! I guess in a city like manhattan places who treat their customers terribly still manage to stay in business. Horrible person.

After seeing the other reviews, I am not suprised that I too had a horrible experience with the rude people who run this business. I consider myself to be a respectful, honest and appreciative person. The man who came to pick up my lamps was very helpful. The people who run this business are awful. Please give your business to another company. It is hard to stay in business and make a profit in Manhattan, these people do not deserve this, other people do… patron them if you need anything from a bulb to electrical work.
FYI: The response from the business owner is a lie, if you are a new customer please read the rest of the reviews… their is a pattern. The business owners are rude and servcie is poor. I never yelled or lectured, and I’m actually a repeat customer! Crazy thatI was treated so poorly and I was loyal to their store and services and only contacted them to repair my lamps. Anyway, perhaps the owner should learn the concept of apologizing, instead of attacking back with untruths. If you notice in all of his responses, he overly defends himself but never apologizes. Crazy!!!

Earlier this year, I spent $ 45 at this store for three bulbs. One died after six months. I called the manufacturer, who said I needed to contact the retailer. The bulb had a two year warranty.
I called several times and emailed without much response. Finally, the owner wrote back to ask if I had put the bulb in a three-​way light fixture (I hadn’t). I mailed back the bulb for replacement. Then, finally, I was mailed a replacement, but the bulb that they mailed back didn’t work either. It’s obviously not the fixture, because the other identical bulb I bought from them still works. I don’t see how you can manage to mail back a light bulb that doesn’t work to replace one that wasn’t working. It might have been the same bulb for all I know.
Truly inadequate customer service.

I never find myself so compelled to write reviews on businesses but this store is the absolute worst. I was sold bulbs over the phone that were not what I requested and were unusable. When I called to exchange /​return the bulbs I was yelled at by the owner who asked «are you finished speaking» and proceeded to frantically shout «I will not return these bulbs ! I will not return these bulbs !» As a woman and as a human being and even more-​so as a customer I couldn’t imagine speaking to anyone else in this manner. Business should go to people who are respectful and decent and show at least the smallest signs of manners– not to owners who feel the need to shout at their customers and hang up on them. Appalling.

My wife and I went in over the weekend to look for an Edison style bulb for our apartment. When we couldn’t decide what would fit the salesman (who was actually quite nice) told us to take both home and just return them if they didn’t work. Upon paying we also asked about the no returns sign and were told if we came back with the receipt it would NOT be a problem.
Sure enough the bulbs weren’t quite right for us and when I tried to return them 2 days later I was told I could only get a store credit — what am I going to do with a $ 45 store credit for light bulbs!?!
If you want to deal with kind, honest people shop elsewhere or online — you’ll save yourself a lot of money and aggravation.
If they want to remedy the situation they could just credit my card like an honest business would.

I needed to replace 20 year old IKEA cabinetry bulbs. They found suitable, shorter 25 watt bulbs, and I was in and out of the store in under 2 minutes with bubble wrap to protect my purchase. Don’t bring in any large backpacks or other bags because the walkways are very narrow.

This is a real find. I needed an obscure bulb. My very good electrician told me I might not be able to find such a bulb, and that i might need to replace the fixture. I went to one excellent lighting store where they searched their shelves, a catalog, and their computer, and told me they couldn’t get the bulb. I EMAILED a PHOTO of the bulb to Just bulbs, and they emailed me back within an hour with the price. I went by the store and they ordered it for me. It arrived in a few days.
It cost less than $ 10.

Every kind of light bulb imaginable proved by there being almost no breathing space! The staff leaves little to be desired, but they seem knowledgeable. Maybe a smile or two would help. And let’s turn off the loud rap music — this is the upper east side, realize your client base.

I have a weird column lamp that requires a hard to find tube bulb and didn’t have time to wander Manhattan’s famed bulb district and Home Depot wasn’t cuttin it in the bulbs department. I was also both laughed at and mocked out Brooklyn’s craft bulb shop The Bulboretum with empty hands and tears in my eyes. Just Bulbs had me covered though!
When you first see where it’s located you think «the fkuc… that can’t be in the Upper East Side» but yes sure enough wedged in between rows of luxury antique stores is a very large closet of a store that can maybe fit eight people because it’s nothing but wall to wall to wall light bulbs and LED arrays of every kind imaginable. I didn’t even need to look for the bulb because as soon as I stepped in this dude immediately asked me what I needed, I handed him the lamp, he tested the bulb and four minutes later I was outta there with a few years worth of lighting.
They love lamp.

Just like Carol S. said in her review… this store just carries bulbs and if you’re looking for some random light bulb that nobody else has, this is your place.
I went to 5 stores before Home Depot told me to go to Just Bulbs. It was SO frustrating. The guys at Just Bulbs were helpful and knew exactly what I needed. It was expensive but well worth it to know I can come here and cut out all the stress.
