Like most normal people out there, thinking about going to the dentist gives me palpitations, sweats and nausea. I mean, what kind of person willingly goes into a profession where they listen to scary high pitched instruments all day and stick their hands into people’s dirty mouths? They have to be a little off…
Then I found Dr. Joshua Wilges through a friend years ago. It was my first time going to a dentist in probably 4 years at that point. I was a smoker, drinker, and a chronic non-​flosser and I was having some sensitivity. I almost ran out his clean and modern waiting room but unfortunate for me, he keeps his appointments right on time. I got dragged into a beautiful, well lit room more akin to a spa than a dental office. A documentary on Hulu was playing right in arm’s reach attached to strangely comfortable dental chair. I got my xrays done by the wonderful hygienist Leyla, and Dr. Wilges introduced himself and unbeknownst to my panicked self somehow put me at complete ease — he has incredible bedside manner. He somehow found that amazing balance between professionalism and laid back cool that can put any nervous patient at ease. Next thing I knew, he was done with the checkup and cleaning and I had a little goodie bag of dental stuff.
What? I couldn’t believe that he had hypnotized me with his charm and I didn’t even realize that the procedures were done! Dr. Wilges and Leyla were so gentle! Well once I snapped out of it, I asked about my oral health. He spoke to me like an intellectual, showed me my xrays and gave me a thorough review of my oral health.
So not only is Dr. Wilges knowledgeable about his trade and has incredible bedside manner, he doesn’t push procedures if you don’t need them. He gives you options, tells you pros and cons and gives you his absolute honest medical opinion. He’s not afraid to refer you out to someone else if he feels like it’s out of his scope. That’s so hard to find nowadays.
His assistant and hygienist Leyla is a complete doll. Always smiling, sweet, professional, puts you at ease, gentle, and has such a good rapport with Dr. Wilges that it’s fun to listen to them interact which helps distract me with the drilling going on in my head. Oh and on a side note, Dr. Wilges is a magician with needles — didn’t even feel the novacaine injection until I started drooling on myself which he promptly took care of without making me feel self-​conscious.
I’ve been going to Dr. Wilges at least twice a year for the last few years. I’m almost sad I don’t have a reason to see him in between visits. Instead I referred all my friends and coworkers to Dr. Wilges who all have the same raving reviews about him. If you’ve been hesitant about going to the dentist, make your appointment and just go. You won’t regret it.

I found Dr. Wilges through my mom and I am so happy I took her advice. He is a great dentist. Gets things done fast and truly cares about oral health. His assistant Layla is wonderful too. They’re very helpful with scheduling appointments and have good office hours that accommodate the working person. Thank you Dr. Wilges !

There’s a good reason this dentist has a 5 star rating. He is as good as dentistry gets. I’ve had bad experiences with dentists (which a lot of people have), but it’s people like Dr. Wilges who restore your faith in the practice and keep patients around. The office is beautiful, the hygienist Leyla is super sweet, and everything Dr. Wilges did I felt like I was being cared for, not just processed for insurance money. If you are looking for a dentist — he is the man to see. He takes his time, is very thorough, and actually invests energy in your overall plan for oral health. Satisfied patient. :)

I had been searching for a new dentist for a while as my old dentist was up to tricks! (suggesting I get work done that I did not necessarily need — at a high cost!). I never know whether to trust Unilocal reviews after seeing a craigslist job advertisement for good writers to write Unilocal reviews. However, I did end up getting an appointment with Joshua and I am very pleased indeed. Yes, the office is cool and clean. Yes, the receptionist/​dental nurse, Layla is fantastic. Yes, Joshua is very pleasant. All of that. But for me, the main thumbs up is that Joshua gave me some very very sound advice on future work I need to get done. I have been given a plethora of advice from my previous dentist and the one before that in my home country, but Joshua gave me all options, all range prices and his own wisdom. I really REALLY appreciate that. I am now armed with knowledge and approximate costs of what to do next. Oh and he did a great job of cleaning my teeth!

It’s easy finding a dentist in the city, but it’s not easy finding a good dentist. Dr Wilges is an amazing dentist. very professional and isnt like the other dentists in the area just wanting to take your money. He takes his time and does a great job. I highly recommend him. His assistant is very nice and helpful as well. I recommend a couple of coworkers to him. He even helped me when i chipped my tooth and had no coverage left on my plan for the year. I will be coming back for all my other appointments here.

New, clean office. Monitors at the chairs. Friendly staff, immediate service, simple booking through ZocDoc. Really took the time to understand my dental history and treated accordingly. Fully accepts my insurance, barely any paperwork. Highly recommended.

I recently went to Dr. Wilges for some fillings, a cleaning and bleaching– He was awesome! First off, his office was sleek and modern. His staff was extremely friendly and made me feel at ease. Dr. Wilges had a very gentle touch and made me feel comfortable the whole time as I am somewhat of a jittery dental patient. All the dental chairs were equipped with TV’s so you could watch and relax while getting your dental work done. I will most definitely be referring friends to him– 5 stars all the way!
