Very random thrifty person’s dream store:
Shifty sun dresses for about $ 5
Hoodies $ 5
Earrings for like 12 for $ 1 or something crazy.
Infinity scarves for $ 3
Shoes (can’t remember how much but not much)
Purses (I feel ridiculous saying «kinda pricy» for $ 12 but comparably speaking «kinda pricy!»)
Also, a metal bin full of plastic wrapped pineapples and avocados (because, why not?)
I’m forgetting things and I’m sure this is the sort of place that has different stuff every time you go. I wish I had stopped here first before going in some other stores along 8th tho cuz the deals were outstanding.
I’m not thrilled with this part of 8th around Madison Square Garden but this little store was a diamond (or at least cubic zirconia at a great price) in the rough.

I came here looking for a way to kill time during lunch. The store is filled with inexpensive buys. I was able to purchase an umbrella, 3pc of ankle socks, and rain boots for $ 24. The store is a bit disorganized and messy but if you don’t mind digging around, you can find some good deals.

This place is addictive ! I’ve found everything from the Absolute greatest shoes and boots to exZactly the perfect scarves and costume jewelry.
It’s kind of unbelievable. Some of my favorite summer dresses (100% cotton, arty and gorgeous) were $ 3! The same kind of thing you find in bohemian type of catalogues for $ 45!
It’s a place I go for bargain therapy.

A must-​stop for costume supplies & finishing touches — jewellery & accessories in particular.
I’ve spent plenty of time (and saved plenty of $) shopping for pieces to finish costumes and cosplays at Joey NYC.
Rather than dropping a small fortune at many of the nearby trimmings & bead shops in the fashion district, I’ve found it easier and much more cost effective to raid Joey’s for cheap costume jewellery and cannibalize the pieces I need.
For example, I needed 4 silver buckles to finish a recent piece — rather than $ 3 each at the trimming shop, I bought 4 belts for a dollar apiece, and simply snapped the buckles out. Jewels to complete a crown? Cabochons than ran up to $ 5 each at the bead shop could be simply snapped off of $ 1 cocktail rings and re-​purposed.
It can take a bit of digging & rummaging to find what you want, and don’t count on finding the same products on a return trip (the stock rotates quickly — as others have said, when it’s gone, it’s gone) but the hectic bins at Joey’s, along with a bit of flexibility/​creativity, are well worth the savings.

WOW. FRUGAL SHOPPER’S DREAM!
Thing is, I don’t care for disorganized en-​mass shopping. I like organized and Joey’s is organized and cheap. My dream.
If you’re looking for something to just quickly throw on and don’t care if it lasts, look no further. Prices are insane — they must sell direct or as one Unilocaler says, «sell off from sell offs». One of the shoppers came in and asked — is there a sale? No, just great prices.
Shoes range from $ 10-​$ 35. I wanted lined knee high boots for awhile and they were selling them for $ 30, even got grey calf hugging rain boots at $ 20. The thing is, they’re spotty on sizes. Some of the heeled canvas I wanted ($ 12) only range in size 9 and up.
Other amazing-​ness? Scarves at $ 3, jewelry starting at $ 1, ornaments at $ 6, ear muffs at $ 1, sunglasses at $ 1… it kinda goes on and on. Some items require sifting through (like rings) as they pile it all in a big table. Some items are hung but most are well organized and displayed in order.
No refunds, only exchanges within 7 days.

Love Joey’s. Found this place a couple years ago completely by accident while searching for a Statue of Liberty crown for a Halloween costume. Not only did I find one, I also found one of my favorite stores in New York. It’s in such a congested area of the city but I try to stop here whenever I’m nearby. Things are CHEAP! here but you have to be willing to dig a little bit as everything is simply piled onto tables. The selection always varies and some days are better than others. I think I prefer going there in the colder months because they always have a lot of leggings and sweatshirts for about a quarter of the price you’d find elsewhere. There’s also a huge selection of suitcases, hats, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories. They also sell electronics here but that’s where I would draw the line. If you want discounted electronics go online to Amazon, they have a much better return policy! But if you are just looking for some inexpensive clothes or accessories DEFINITELY check this place out!

They may have just about everything you can think of in here, especially if you’re seeking girly or dressy attire. I came in on a quest for gold heeled shoes.
One note about shopping here: if you need help from the sales staff, it’s very hard to locate them. I had to see who was helping other people to figure out who worked there vs. who was a regular shopper. I also noticed in looking for shoes with straps you have to hook through buckles, the last hole on the strap was where the price was attached from. Not a great thing if you’ve got a skinny foot & you’re trying to see if the shoe will be able to sit properly on your foot.
When I did get help, at least their not having my size in one style I was deciding on made the decision of what to buy much easier. I made sure to try on the shoes since they have a no returns policy & only do exchanges up to 7 days. I also waited quite a while to get rung up. Are they short staffed or something on Sunday afternoons?
I think the shoes will be awesome for my purposes and the price was fair but it is a time consuming effort so you may want to keep that in mind if you’re trying to get in & out quickly.

I pop in here often for some lunch hour entertainment.
They have cotton gloves for like 2 bucks.
I got some trendy designer jeans for like $ 13 a pair. Got to sift through mostly cheesy ones though to find some choice pieces
$ 3 sunglasses.
Cheaper and better quality no frills underwear than Hanes and Jockey. How the hell did they do that?
They got plenty slippers.
Luggage prices are also very competitive.

WARNING: NOT FOR THE QUALITY FASHION QUEEN! THIS STUFF IS CHEAP!
Haha this place is a cheapy finders dream! I just bought three L.E.I. bras for $ 2 each! The large bins of containers alternate, once the stock is gone. So the saying goes «once it’s gone it gone forever.» I don’t mind buying cheap stuff because my taste changes with the seasons, so I wear it a couple of times and it’s to the back of my closet, drawer or lost forever.
If you need last minute cheap jewelry that you’ll wear once and probably lose it at the club, then come here! They also have belts, shoes, scarfs and hats, to name a few accessories that they carry. Once you come in there is a watch counter and electronics area as well. And in the back are cheapo souvenirs, if I have visitors in town that need cheap gift I bring them here.
This place is always busy, even in the mornings, so be ready to throw some elbows! The cashier is a little tucked away in the back as well near the shoes. The staff never speaks to me but I kind of like it that way.
Why I Love It: In New York, everything is expensive, it’s nice to know that there is somewhere that can cater to us bargain hunters.

granted everything in here is probably made UBER cheaply in a sweatshop, it is a guilty pleasure to mosey around and check out the piles of imported goods. hats, belts, jackets, shoes, tshirts, leggings…
bright colors and fun items at $ 3, $ 5, $ 7…you can’t go wrong.
it’s a grab bag of other imported items in the back of the store, and there is a bunch of cell phone thingies on the side.
i always feel compelled to walk around as i walk by… so fun!

The previous review was a bit harsh. I discovered this store while walking from 34th st the other day and LOVED it! For everything cold weather, I would say shop here. I was able to get earmuffs, a bomber hat, gloves, and thermal socks all for under $ 15.
Funny enough, as it was Jan 19, I was actually out in the city looking for street vendors selling Obama-​rabilia, when I found that this store was selling beautiful glossy Obama posters for $ 2. I bought 26 of them.
They have down jackets, shoes, men’s suits and pants, women’s (cheap) clothing, socks, electronic accessories, hats, bla bla bla. This place rocks for cheap.
Yeah, I agree… it’s prob not the BEST quality, but what do you expect for such cheap prices? It does the job.

Joey New York sells sell-​offs and seconds (perhaps hot?) clothing for men and women. Not fashion, not quality, but nonetheless clothing on the cheap — $ 1 – 15 dollars for most everything in the store.
It’s probably not your cup of tea. (I know Sam has stopped reading already.) But consider Joey New York in two ways:
First, if you’re a guy and you need to be professionally dressed and you don’t care in the least how it fits, feels, or lasts, you can get dress pants (cotton or poly-​rayon), a woven shirt (poly-​blend), and a tie for about $ 15 – 20. If you’re a gal looking to dress a bit less professionally, there are racks of «colorful» mini-​minis and strappy tops for your pleasure. Prices undercut K-​Mart or Steve and Barry’s.
Second, if it’s Halloween or another themed event, start here. Just because it doesn’t say costume shop doesn’t mean it’s not.
