Starting with an in-​depth personal consultation regarding your unique facial features and eyebrow’s natural hair growth pattern, Joey will proceed to customize a brow design perfectly suited to frame your eyes. Through a detailed and precise sculpting process of trimming and tweezing, your eyebrows will be crafted to ultimate perfection –all without the irritation of hot wax or the pain of threading.

Established in 2010.

Known for his trendsetting vision and amazing technical skill, Joey Healy is one of the most influential and sought-​after eyebrow specialists in the industry. With his skill for crafting the ideal arch, Joey launched his eyebrow empire in 2010 with his signature product line, Joey Healy Eyebrow Collection, following in 2011. In 2012 Joey opened his flagship Fifth Avenue Joey Healy Eyebrow Studio, a stylish eyebrow sanctuary for his jet-​setting, unisex clientele. With his popularity rapidly growing, Joey expanded with a new team of brow proteges to a larger NYC location in 2015.

Joey realized his passion for the beauty industry at a young age. Infatuated with geometry and symmetry, eyebrows soon caught his talented eye, intrigued by their delicate form and precise lines. After graduating with a degree in marketing from Villanova University and an advanced esthetics education from Aveda Institute, Joey was poised to start his own business in the beauty industry.

In the summer of 2014, Joey was a starring cast member on Bravo’s hit reality show «The Singles Project». Letting cameras into his personal life allowed Joey to connect with more fans around the world and further evolve his brand.

After having my brows butchered by threading for about 5 years, I knew it was time to grow them out and seek Joey’s help.
My goal was to have thicker fuller eyebrows without too much arch (which I feels make you look like you are frowning) and I have gotten just that. Not only is his new studio just beautiful, Joey is a fun to be around and is great at educating his clients on how to care for your brows.

I’d always heard fantastic things about Joey Healy and when he moved his business to my neighborhood, I had to give them a try. I went in yesterday and Elsie did an amazing job — the best, most natural-​looking I’ve ever had.
I’ve been to the schlocky threading storefront shops, which are alway hit or miss when it comes to whether I’ll look good or with the Hitler mustache of brows, so I went in with a mix of eagerness and apprehension.
Elsie put me right at ease and discussed what she wanted to do. She is easy to talk with (not at all stuck up, as one might expect in a high-​end place) and didn’t push any products (recommend, but no pressure whatsoever — and I will buy soon) and did the most thorough brow shaping (and dying) I’ve ever had. Elsie is also fantastic at walking you through and explaining everything.
Expensive? Quite. But *so* worth it for me, because when my eyebrows look right, everything else falls into place. And I am a total spastic when it comes to doing stuff like that myself. I’ll definitely be back.

Hands down the best eyebrows in NYC, if not the world! I’ve been going to Joey for the past 2 years and he has completely transformed my shape. I started with thin brows that were asymmetrical and had been going back and forth to different «specialists» before finding Joey, my eyebrow king! He really studies your face, not just a quick passing glance. He’s really into bone structure and I felt like he was the first person to really analyze my eyebrows. I also use his brow serum which I can’t praise enough for giving me back my thick brows! When he wasn’t available last week I went to the other specialist Elsie and she was awesome too! I’m a lifetime client, hands down.

So every now and then I’ll go get my brows threaded for a clean up. I am super hesitant with any visits for my brows as for fear of losing, what many say: «your masculine brows»! But seriously I’m scared of them being too arched or losing the thickness. Pencil thin doesn’t not look good on any one, male or female, just saying. But upon walking in Joey Healy’s studio I was made to feel very welcomed. The tension I normally feel at a threading salon, washed away instantly. I was greeted by Joey, who gave a good look at my brows, smiled, and immediately recommended that I be taken care of by Elsie.
From her very warm welcome to taking the time to listen to what I expected out of the visit, I felt comfortable putting my brows in her hands. I mean I needed to feel good about this since it was my birthday and lord knows I can’t be seen at a gathering without my signature brows lol. Most what I loved about her was her patience. She walked me through the process. Provided thoughts on what will work best for the moment and even future maintenance.
Some may think the price of $ 70 might be too high for brows. When I walk into a salon, I expect not only the best service, but the best experience as well. Thank you Elsie for accomplishing that. I will definitely be returning. :)

I just move to NY from Los Angeles and my brow artist recommend me to try joey’s studio. So I get the speech that she (Elise) doesnt wax to avoid drooping in the future. I agree as my goal is leave with amazing eyebrows and also with what they charge you would think so. The eyebrows look okay at best and she fill them in nicely. But I’m use to my eyebrows looking great. I go home and wash my face and it doesn’t even look like I just got them done. Very disappointing especially after spending $ 70 plus tip.

I was in the area and needed to get my eyebrows done. I walked in and had the chance of having my eyebrows done by Elsie. She shaped my brows perfectly. She took her time doing my brows and then explained how I can maintain my shape and fill them between visits! I am definitely going back!

I went to see Joey because i read all those wonderful reviews about him. To be honest, i have experience much better work by none-​celebrities. Yes, he talks sweet and is a nice guy, and tried to sell me some of his products, but all i cared was about creating a perfect shape for my eyebrows. I think women from Ukraine or Russia who does their eyebrows every day with tweezers, can do the same job or even better! There was nothing special, my eyebrows did not have a perfect line as I asked and at the end i paid 130 $. It was not worth it. Yes, Joey has a great publicity and i think that is why he has so many customers, but i was not satisfied, because i had a much better experience many times. If you want nice eyebrows, just find a good Russian speaking master in Brighton Beach area, they will do it for 40 $ max. Sorry Joey.

Joey’s studio came highly recommended by a friend, so I figured I give it a shot. I was quite nervous as I booked my first appt with brow specialist, Elsie. All I can say is wow! She is as talented as she is sweet! Elsie gave me her undivided attention, recommended products to use (for my poor brows that have been butchered by ladies from nail salons) and also taught me how to fill my brows on my own in between appts. Will def be returning. As an added bonus, this location is so chic!

Whether you wear no makeup, or much, brows are important. I don’t wear makeup. Over the years those who’ve plucked my brows have made them thin. Too thin. I’ve aged. The need for more ample brows to counterbalance prominent features drove me to seek sophisticated professional assistance. I traveled from Panama City, Panama, to New York and one reason was to have my brows professionally shaped by an expert. I read reviews and selected carefully. Joey Healy was my choice. Joey is personable, listened to what I wanted, and made it so. He taught me how to maintain the shape he created. I knew in anticipation I intended to pull out all stops and was aware of the price list — I bought all recommended products. I am happy with them, very much so. Completely worth every penny. I highly recommend Joey.

A few years ago it was just one of those packed weeks and I was leaving the nail salon and they asked if I needed my eyebrows done (which I did, desperately) I figured why not, how bad could it be? They just need to be cleaned up. Famous. Last Words. It took about five painful months until they were grown out enough and I was ready to get some shape back. I googled best eyebrows NYC, and that’s how I found Joey.
From the moment you walk into his studio he makes you feel like the center of the world, and for the next 45 minutes you are as you gab away while he perfectly sculpts and tints your brows, and it is absolutely painless. I have no idea how he does it, he even gets all of the peach fuzz away. He is just as talented as he is charming, and the products are great. I use the powder, brush, gel and highlighter– and as beauty junkie I can tell you they are the best I have found. And yes he’s expensive, but everything that is the best is.

My first time coming to Joey to get a shaping and I have to say my eyebrows have never looked so good!!! I can’t wait to flaunt them around! Joey gave me all the attention in the world from the minute I walked in until the minute I walked out. He is literally the sweetest person ever and makes you feel so comfortable like if you known him for years lol! He took his time plucking so precisely leaving my brows full and keeping the length WHICH I wanted. FYI, I’m in the process of growing them back in because of too many waxing accidents. He finished off my eyebrows with an eyebrow powder in Raven and Brow Structure Clear Set from his personal eyebrow collection line. Joey even showed me how to apply the eyebrow powder to get my brows on point. The products are amazing, I bought the eyebrow powder and eyebrow gel. Joey is truly the best of the best, and is someone I can trust with my eyebrows. NO MORE WAXING ACCIDENTS. I can’t wait to come back, I already booked my next appointment!

I just had my first appointment today and it was amazing. He is the sweetest person and did an awesome job. I didn’t feel pressured to buy anything but I do use some of his products and can really recommend them. I had my eyebrows tinted and shaped. The color came out perfect and so did the shape. I’m glad I finally found my to go to place for my eyebrows. I can highly recommend this place to anyone. Already set up my next appointment and can’t wait to go. I can’t see where just one bad review could come from… I can’t complain about a thing.

OMG this man works miracles. The tails of my eyebrows were damaged after years of waxing, threading, plucking & an electrolysis stint in my early teenage years. Joey worked with what little hair I had on the tails of my brows. He tinted, groomed & transformed my brows. The results were stunning. Very natural. He’s a master at matching you with the perfect brow powder. He also did a great job educating me on how to recreate the look at home. He is the go-​to expert on brows in NYC! I do not consider myself an avid Unilocaler, but always give credit where it is due. A self proclaimed «eyebrow connoisseur & expert», I usually don’t let anyone else get near my eyebrows, except for an occasional ‘clean up’ with waxing or threading. I initially read an article about Joey in Marie Claire, and being an eyebrow aficionado I needed to know more. After reading countless articles and write-​ups about how great he was, I needed to experience an appointment with the eyebrow guru himself; to say I was anything less than impressed is an understatement.
Joey’s Fifth Avenue Studio has amazing ambiance with lots of windows and a charming view of midtown Manhattan. Upon entering the studio I was floored by Joey’s friendliness, hospitality, and positive attitude. (I am originally from Pennsylvania, and still have not grown accustomed to the lack of customer service initiative that is New York) Needless to say, from the moment I began to discuss my eyebrow history, and a little bit of my life with Joey, I felt more than comfortable with trusting him to ‘do’ my eyebrows. Unlike painful waxing and threading, Joey utilizes only tweezers and small scissors to manicure and shape the brows, allowing him to utilize the hour block designated for my appointment. He also introduced me to the world of brow powders. Normally I just apply a small amount of pencil to my brows, if even that; but after showing me the power of his eyebrow powder in the Tobacco shade, I was hooked, and purchased my own before even leaving the studio. Yes, the services were a little pricey, but splurging on Joey and yourself is definitely worth the overall experience. I can’t wait to go visit him, the studio, and that adorable Nespresso machine again!

I have had some bad eyebrow experiences in my life, so I did a lot of research before going to Joey. I am so glad I went to see him– he is so friendly and talented and somehow managed to make my verrrry sparse eyebrows look full, perfectly shaped, and amazing! I bought several products that I am excited to use, and hopefully I will be able to fill in my brows as perfectly as he did. I am so pleased with how my eyebrows look, I don’t want to wash away his amazing brow powder off when I wash my face tonight :) He was so worth the one and a half month wait. I will definitely be back and will definitely recommend him to friends!

I agree with one review below. Joey is warm and friendly, the studio smells delicious, it’s clean, modern. However, the service isn’t a $ 135 service, as I paid for. My eyebrows are thick and bushy and dark, making it a huge contrast with my fair skin — so you can see absolutely every single flaw. Joey cleaned my eyebrows, left them thick, as I like, but otherwise, nothing changed. Literally.
MAYBE his services are better for people who really needs a complete eyebrow makeover — like, really, if your eyebrows are hideous. If they’re ok, you’re better of some other place that doesn’t charge that much. I’ve had services as good as Joey in another eyebrow salon (plucking, no waxing, of course), for $ 50 — which is still expensive, but cheaper than $ 135.
I also ended up buying a few things (I do agree he keeps talking about it, and he’s so nice, that you feel trapped into buying at least one of his products), which I really liked. And he showed me exactly how to use, which is also another plus. BUT, again, $ 135 is way too expensive. I’d come back again and again, once a month, if he charged the $ 50 (or $ 60 at most) as the other place, but not for this price.

I came in with brows that I’d been growing out since August, just so I could see him work his magic. 45 minutes later, I left with PERFECT eye brows. Believe the hype, Joey is fantastic. I never splurged on my brows before and decided it was time to get them perfect. I grew them in for two months and went to see Joey. I can’t tell you how surprised I was when I walked in and recognized him as the guy who did my brows for free during an event at Duane Reade like 2 years ago! I didn’t say anything (he must have thought I was shy or weird, but I was so shocked, and he didn’t even remember me). There were more bells and whistles to his approach than there were at Duane reade, but I walked out with the same so-​so brows I got for FREE 2 years ago.

I needed a shaping before a friend’s wedding; my brows were unruly and needed some real help. Joey not only made them impeccably gorgeous, he taught me how to maintain it and showed me products that actually do what they’re meant to do. The brow powder stays put and makes my brows look fuller.
I also have really sensitive skin (why I don’t wax in the first place) and the whole process was basically pain-​free.
I think the best part of the whole thing is Joey’s personality. He is friendly and so passionate about what he does. I will be coming back again & again.

I feel like I’m going to get a lot of backlash for being the only non-​5 star reviewer here!
I visited Joey back in July as a first-​time customer. He was super sweet about me being nearly 15 minutes late to the appointment due to delays on the subway/​bus, and made sure I was comfortable and had a glass of water before he started. Like all the other reviewers have mentioned, I could really tell he was giving me all of his attention during my appointment. He did a very thorough and meticulous job, carefully explaining everything he was doing while working.
Sadly, I was not blown away by the end result. I think it might have to do with the fact that he’s not used to working with Asian brows, which tend to be sparser and not have much of an arch. I was pleased however, with how dedicated he seems to his business and with his products (the brow powder in tobacco and duo brow brush), which I will continue to purchase in the future.
