The Jeffres Acupuncture Center offers both private appointments and community style acupuncture.

Anne J.

Business Owner

Dr. Anne Jeffres is the Founder and Director of the Jeffres Acupuncture Center. She is Nationally Board Certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine (NCCAOM) and has been a practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese medicine since 1994. Her focus in practice is in integrating healing and wellness of both physical and emotional conditions, and practices a range of acupuncture and Chinese herbal styles, including Worsley 5 Element acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Anne also currently works as an acupuncturist and research scientist at Columbia University, where she works in breast cancer research. In addition, Anne frequently guest lectures about acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at several schools across the US, is a member of the Examination Development Committee for the NCCAOM and has formerly served as the Chair of the Herbology Department and Associate Dean at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in NYC.

Today I saw Dr Anne Jeffres for my first acupuncture session ever.
I didn’t know what to expect but Anne assured me that she would explain everything along the way and asked me if I had any questions. She has an incredibly calming and peaceful presence. She explained everything, as she said she would, and asked questions to get to know me and my life situations.
One of my issues was with a case of heartburn for the past 2 months. It seems to be resolved already (and I just ate cheese fries!), after one treatment.
I look forward to my next appointment with Anne, in the community acupuncture setting. She recommended I come back next week. For $ 45, this is an incredible value to take care of myself.
I will highly recommend her to anyone who is interested in acupuncture and Chinese/​Eastern medicine.

Dr. Anne is wonderful, soft spoken, understanding and most importantly vey knowledgable in her field. She treated my terrible back/​SI joint pain with unbelievable results. I’ve been going to different massage therapists, yoga etc but nothing helped as much as just one visit with her.
To top it off it’s only $ 45/​session. Best deal you can imagine.

I went to Anne for hot flashes. It took her only one month and some tea pills to wipe them out of my life. She is very kind, soft spoken and very knowledgeable. I have see all types & ages in her beds. Everybody walks out happy. I can’t recommend her enough.

This place is a hidden gem in Herald Square!
I worked with Jane and she was amazing. She was attentive, listened to my reasons for coming, took her time when working with me and the result was fantastic. Sore and tight muscles no more!
I definitely had the post accupuncture glow going on when I left.
This was a top notch community accupuncture facility and I’ll be coming back here for more of that for sure :)

Anne worked magic on my back pain. She really listened and responded to my questions prior to the treatment. I came in with a lot of pain (and hadn’t slept well for 3 nights)… an hour later I just had a tiny bit of soreness and slept great. It really is amazing what acupuncture can do, especially in hands of a good practitioner. I randomly googled this place and was lucky I stumbled upon it.

I highly recommend this community acupuncture clinic. Anne is experienced and deeply knowledgeable. She has a lovely caring, attentive, warm manner. She navigates a busy community setting with grace and patience. I was really impressed.
The price is generous and affordable if you are in need of regular treatments, and one-​on-​one sessions are also available, if that’s your preference.
If you go for a community appointment, be aware that you are going to be in a large room with many tables, separated by room dividers. It is definitely a community experience, and you will hear your neighbors clearly, although not really see them.

I feel SO fortunate to have started receiving treatment at NY Community Acupuncture. Dr Anne Jeffres is an incredible practitioner, with a nurturing manner and immense insight. I have been treated for everything from neck/​shoulder spasms, sleep quality, emotional help/​recovery, stomach issues, and recurrent leukorrhea. The quality of treatment, Dr Jeffres’ expertise, and excellent results FAR exceed the affordable price; you get 10x over what you pay. I am SO grateful for this practice and for what Dr Jeffres has done for me!

I was being treated for stress and maintenance for chronic urinary tract infections (UTIs) and Anne is amazing! I haven’t had any reoccurrence of a UTI in nearly 18 months, and the herbs she recommended were inexpensive and very effective. She was always available if I had questions, and it helped tremendously in preparation for my move to San Diego, CA. If I hadn’t left NYC, I would still be going there.

I went for a treatment yesterday because I have been sleeping terribly, and last night, I slept like a baby. This place is really amazing! You pay $ 45 because it is community-​style, but you still receive just as much care and attention as you would anywhere else — if not more! I highly, highly recommend seeking treatment here.
