Jeff Neil

My experience working with Jeff has been tremendous! I have relied on his expertise for 3+ years and trust his guidance. There is a lot of career information online but I’ve found that he always has the unique approach that helps you stand out above the rest. My friend referred me to Jeff and was also so pleased with his services. Jeff is really talented at helping you position at a senior level to get the attention deserved. I consider myself lucky to have him as an advisor — even after moving from NYC I’ve continued to work with him and love his new online career boot camp!!!

I was very happy with the results I received working with Jeff. With the comprehensive tools he provided, he helped me create a great resume and linked in profile. The two sessions I had with Jeff also helped me understand the full extent of what I actually do in a job that I had been in for the past 13 plus years.
Since then using the knowledge I gained, I have had 2 pay raises and a promotion of which I asked for and pitched. I believe this was mainly from being able to concretely verbalize the responsibilities I have and knowing exactly what they are and their value. Being in the same job for a long time, things organically change and without realizing it, I had gained a lot of skills, responsibilities and knowledge.
I will definitely go back to Jeff when I start to look at changing jobs to gain help with direction, job search advice and interview skills.

Jeff was key in helping me understand the different careers that might be suitable for me. It was through his process that I was able to figure out what values I wanted to honor with my career and what clear next steps I needed to take in order to start the life that was best for me. Following our discussions I did several informational interviews (he provides help in setting yourself up for successful ones) and landed on the best career for me. I don’t usually post on Unilocal at all though I am a frequent browser. I had to post something about Jeff because he changed my life in the matter of 2 months!
After deciding to use a career coach I went with Jeff because he seemed he could help after our free consult. He made no promises (which I found to be genuine), but also stated that if I was willing to put in the work, he was confident in my abilities.
He gave me some homework to do prior to our first session outlining my experiences, goals, etc. I was completely in the dark on what career I wanted to move into, but at our first session he detailed what he thought I’d be good at and what companies could be interested in me (he had clearly studied the homework I sent in so there was no wasted time). After brainstorming with me on jobs, salaries, pros and cons, matches to my abilities, I booked another session with him for resume help.
After the next session I was on my way to success with great resume tips.
I completed all the homework that Jeff gave me after each session and put in all the work. 1 month later I had 6 interviews, and 7 weeks later I had landed my dream job. I truly thank him for all his help!
If you’re confused on career choices or don’t know how to format your resume to stand out then he is a great asset.

It starts off with a questionnaire that takes a few hours to fill out. Then I spent $ 175 and 45 minutes recapping my resume for him. During our session he states that he is going to email me some suggested revisions for my resume and possible new career paths. I receive an email the same night basically stating that I should be in sales (I was in already in sales). I reply asking him for his suggestions on my resume that he had mentioned and then he tries to sell me an additional session in order to receive the information. Complete waste of money, I wish I’d never bothered. He is not good at what he does, I would seriously look elsewhere for any real insight for career coaching.

Very insightful. I was unexpectedly downsized last year and found myself not wanting to go back into the events /​entertainment field. I looked around for options and based on a recommendation of a friend decided to hire Jeff Neil and his Career Coaching Services to point me in the right direction.
I took 5 sessions with Jeff in person at his office at Union Square, and also on the phone. Working with him I not only realized I would be happier as an office manager, but that I had the ability to choose the right environment to work in that would be best for me. Before meeting with him I had just jumped into any job since it was offered, without looking at the company and it’s work culture. Sometimes it worked, other times it was disastrous. Now I am happy to say that with Jeff’s help I have found an amazing job that has good quality of life and much less work stress.
I highly recommend Jeff to anyone who is considering a career change. It’s great to wake up in the morning excited about what the day holds!

I have utilized Jeff’s career coaching services many times over the past several years. Initially I contacted him to help me determine the best way to transition out of a field that I no longer wished to work in. I later did follow up sessions with him on interviewing skills (including salary negotiation) which proved to be extremely helpful. Now any time I am considering an important career move or change, I schedule a session with Jeff to discuss it. His help has been invaluable.
There are certain things in life that you teach yourself, and there are other things that you really should seek expert advice on. How important is your career to you?

My consultation with Jeff was fantastic! He took the time to go over my resume with me in detail giving me concrete examples of how to restructure it to show me in my best light.
He had clearly done his homework, as we hit the ground running and didn’t need to spend much time going over my previous resume, as he knew it as well as I did.
Since he was so efficient, we had time to review my LinkedIn profile, as well!
When I scheduled the consultation, Jeff told me I should record the conversation, so I didn’t have to take notes, and the consultation would flow better. Brilliant. I also have a recording that I can refer to whenever I want.
I would recommend Jeff for career coaching without hesitation.

Unprofessional.
I scheduled a 15 minute consultation with Mr. Neil. I showed up at his office to find it locked. I called Mr. Neil and was told that this was a phone consultation. He could or would not be able to reschedule, even though there is no clear place in the e-​mail I received stating that this was a phone consultation. If this is the level of care and treatment Mr. Neil brings to a potential client, I feel I am better off taking my business elsewhere.

My boyfriend had been searching for a job for nearly a year and I purchased a session with Jeff as a surprise gift to help boost his confidence and assist with his interview skills. After only one session my boyfriend’s confidence level grew astronomically and he landed a job at his very next interview the week after! I cannot thank Jeff enough for all his help and would definitely recommend him to my friends and family. A nice and professional guy indeed and he changed the course of our lives in more ways than he could know. Thanks, Jeff, you’re a miracle worker!
