Be warned: this doctor sends threatening letters to all negative Unilocal reviews (most of which complained about her unethical billing practice) and pretty much filtered out only the 5-​star ones. There are reviews that are either removed as a result of her attorney’s cease and desist letters, or they get hidden to the «do not recommend» section in the very bottom.

I don’t write reviews often but am so thrilled with my results that I have to give Dr. Muller a shout-​out. I was so worried about getting LASIK done but from the first question that I asked until the post-​op appointment I felt all of my needs and concerns completely taken care of by Dr. Muller and her staff. If you are looking to get LASIK or if you are just looking for a great ophthalmologist — Dr. Muller can’t be beat.

WARNING: I don’t normally write reviews unless I love something (I prefer to keep the bad to myself or address the situation head on). That said, I think I would be doing a disservice if I did not at least express my feelings towards this Doctor Office. You deserve to know the truth.
Please BE WARNED — this is a very unethical office performing unnecessary procedures (in my case) without permission and than charging 3x the normal pricing. My first bill was over $ 800 and my wife’s was over $ 2000. She performed an «eye lash removal» costing $ 150 — where she took a tweezer and pulled out a perfectly normal eyelash that was not bothering me. She removed a lesion on my wife’s eye lid than claimed it was 3 lesions (in a 3 ml area?! no way!)
Eye care is really important and it is so sad that they are taking advantage of UES residents assuming they don’t look at their bills. Aetna and the other insurances should be outraged — this is the reason we pay so much for insurance.

I completely agree with Andrea V.‘s comment about Dr. Muller’s unethical billing practices. I went to Dr. Muller’s office for a regular eye checkup exam and I was charged with $ 897!!! Here is the breakdown of the bill.
New Office Visit — $ 322
Vision Test — $ 150
Test to analyze cornea shape — $ 83
Photo of the eye — $ 105
Photo of the eye — $ 105 (yes there are charges twice like that!!!, photos that I was charged for but never shown to me or explain to me what that is for)
Test for dry eye — $ 132
Total — $ 897!!!
All I needed was a prescription, and all these extra stuff and charges were added without asking me first or my approval. I told the staff beforehand that I was coming for an eye checkup and prescription and nothing else. I even proactively asked about how much it would be but the staff would not answer my question saying that they wouldn’t know until they bill the insurance. They should have at least given me an estimate and what services will be charged for so that I can go to another doctor if it is too expensive. Now I was just stuck with a huge bill. I even cancel the second appointment because I didn’t want to get another even bigger bill. Never going back to this doc again.

Hands down the best surgeon anyone could ever use to restore vision to your eyes. Dr. Muller was recommended to me by a close friend and the actual experience at her office was far better than the recommendation. The staff is incredibly thorough and if you are planning on having eye surgery there is simply nowhere else you should choose to go in the city or the country. Recovery was a snap and Dr. Muller brought my vision to a very solid ²⁰⁄₁₅ above ²⁰⁄₂₀. My wife has expressed an interest in eye surgery, and there is only one person I would ever think to call on. If I could on Unilocal,I’d give her 10 out of 5 stars.

I have been coming to Dr. Muller for many years and recently had LASIK. Not only is Dr. Muller the nicest doctor ever she is also very good at her craft. She even called me late after work to answer a question I had post procedure, which I found very impressive.
Her office and staff are delightful and a nice change from most practices. I have recommended the practice to many people and will continue to do so.

Dr Muller called me the other day to tell me she’d taken my feedback about calling patients with their results (even if the results are benign) and incorporated into her practice. (And that she’d appreciate it if I updated my Unilocal review.)

Outstanding doctor, amazing experience start to finish! Dr. Muller is so warm and personable, you can tell that she sincerely enjoys educating her patients. She answered all of my questions and put me at ease. She was extremely thorough and is clearly an expert in her field. I felt very well taken care of with Dr. Muller and wouldn’t even consider going any place else. She’s the best; I highly recommend her!!!

Great experience, nice office… Dr Muller really loves her craft and cares about her patients. Despite the business of her office, she finds time for each patient and makes you feel like you are her most important one.

Dr. Muller is the best! She is beyond competent and did an amazing job on my Lasix in the winter of 2001. in addition, she has a warm and owonderful personality It is not very often that one looks forward to going to the doctor, but in the last 12 years since I’ve been going to her, I can say that I have enjoyed every appointment. I wouldn’t consider another ophthalmologist.

Met with Dr. Muller for the first time yesterday. She was extremely nice and very thorough with her diagnosis. She recommended a detailed regimen and took the time to explain every step.
I would definitely recommend anyone visit Dr. Muller’s office for their eye care needs. The staff is super friendly and the office is convenient and well kept.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Muller for 5 years now. She is a great surgeon! She was recommended to me by my regular eye dr. here in nyc when looking to have lasik eye surgery. She did an amazing surgery for me and I have been going to her ever since. She has also helped me with other medical eye problems through the years. She gives the utmost care. Her staff is awesome as well. Friends in need of a great ophthalmologist, I always recommend Dr. Muller.

Having worn glasses since third grade, for my 50^th birthday I decided to treat myself to laser eye surgery. I’ve been seeing Dr. Muller (or as she says, «we’ve been dating for a while») for four years now and she’s great — VERY personable, and she pays attention to not just your eyes but your interests as well — it’s great to have a Doctor who’s efficient but takes the time to know their patientsl — I do wish she took my insurance, but the fact that she doesn’t wont make me change doctors. Her staff is great too and I love that they can accommodate people’s work schedule by having an early morning day and a late night day (I usually make appointments for 7:15 — plenty of time to make it work without interruption…)

I have been going to Dr. Muller for many years now. Dr. Muller is not only very experienced but she stays on top of all new developments so you have the comfort of knowing that she is applying state of the art analysis when you see her. I wouldn’t go to see anyone else and she has helped me not just with regular checkups but also a serious infection I developed. She is clear in her advice and diagnosis so you know exactly what to do and is thorough in her follow up.
Her office is very pleasant and relaxing and her staff is very professional. I highly recommend her (and regularly do to friends and colleagues who are looking for an eye doctor).

Dr. Muller is great! She saved my poor dry eyes! I’ve been going to her for years. She was the first ophthalmologist who recognized my issue as a dry eye problem rather than solely a vision problem. That was a huge help.
Three notes: Be sure to verify everything with your insurance carrier prior to your office visit. Her services are NOT cheap, but I believe that most of my in-​office procedures have been covered. Also, Dr. Muller is very popular. In the past, appointment times have run over, but lately, it looks like that’s been resolved. And lastly, her office staff is GREAT! They’re organized and friendly– the complete opposite of most physician offices in this city!

Dr. Muller is the best. Not only is she always, always pleasant, she literally changed my life. I had severe dry eyes and never realized it. She has worked with me for years and now my eyes are so much better! I would never go to another Ophthalmologist.

I am wondering if Dr. Muller drinks red bull every morning. She is the rare doctor who starts seeing people from 6:30 AM. Isn’t it so awesome for us hard working new yorkers?
She is very clear and efficient, full of energy, carrying a high confidence level. Her staff are very friendly and patient as well.

Dr. Muller is very good at what she does, and she knows it. You’ll pay top-​dollar, but she’s professional, has a great staff, and will do a great job.
I’ve been to Dr. Muller plenty over the years, both for dry eyes and for laser eye surgery (LASEK). Her staff are wonderful, they always remember me, and they are very friendly. She is clearly busy, but I feel confidant she spends exactly as much time as needed with me.
As far as the LASEK goes, the process was seamless except for one small thing. My vision wasn’t perfect after the surgery. But despite that, I still give her 4 stars. The pre-​op was great, the surgery itself went very smooth (just enough meds to make me calm, but I remember the whole thing and it didn’t hurt at all), and the post-​op appointments were very helpful.
My vision before the surgery was terrible (–8), and I now have perfect «enough» vision to drive without glasses. That said, compared to what it was like with contacts once upon a time, I know it isn’t totally perfect, and that is a bit frustrating. She was convinced it was improve as my eyes healed (the healing process is lengthy and hard, be prepared), which was true, but they didn’t improve 100%. Dr. Muller offered to do the surgery for free a 2^nd time to get it 100%, which was very kind. I did not take her up on the offer knowing how much of a commitment the healing process was, and not wanting to go through it again. But I’m glad to know that was an option.
Prepare to spend lots of moola, but you’re spending it for peace of mind that nothing will go wrong just as much as you spend for the service itself.

Ok… I just got a package in the mail full of chocolates from Dr. Muller with a card that says «Congratulations on your new, clear, natural vision.»
Now…there is one thing to give me the gift of sight, but then to add chocolates on top of it!!!
Again…LOVE LOVE LOVE (squared) Dr. Jacqueline Muller. This was all such a wonderful experience.
