Islamic Cultural Center of New York

This is a tranquil and gorgeous space but loses two stars for not having a soup kitchen or any substantive community outreach — unacceptable for a prominent house of worship in Manhattan.

This mosque is great. The staff is very professional. They take care of any problems that arise. The noise level is at a minimum during the Imam’s speeches so you are able to hear. They have a variety of classes in Arabic and English including teaching the Arabic language. They also have a school at the mosque. Taraweeh prayer during Ramadan there is a great experience. It is quiet in the balcony with the women so you can hear the prayers. The iftar food is all catered, packaged, served and handled with gloves. Everyone gets their own individual meal. It is guaranteed Halal. And it tastes awesome because the meals come from some of the best Halal restaurants in town. The mosque is beautiful, large and the bathrooms are clean. They also have a bookstore and Islamic shop where one can buy books, clothes and other Islamic materials. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. They accept credit cards.

The most well-​thought of Islamic Center in the nation to me among the many I’ve seen. It doesn’t look like a mosque from outside to the unaware street passers, whom would think it’s a fenced park most probably or an elegant municipal building. Good location, it’s spacious and includes all necessary amenities. Excellent layout and design. Simple and charismatic. It’s walking distance from the 96 subway station of the «6» line.

I love this mosque. Alhumdulillah. Very clean, simple yet elegant, diverse, everyone is friendly, the setting is convenient for women. I have been here for Jummah and also for taraweh prayers. It’s amazing.

Nice place. I am an atheist. However, this place is amazing. Will have to concede, Islamic architecture is beautiful. Come during Ramadan, they will give you free food during iftar time. Just check online when Iftar is, if you want free food. Also, the dome is open during the month of Ramadan. Other months the dome is closed, unless it is for special event.

One of the most beautiful mosques in New York. There is also a great Islamic Cultural center in Brooklyn, on Brighton 3^rd street, I think that mosque is just as beautiful, that one in brooklyn is Turkish.
Lots of space inside, very large and specious mosque. I’m interested in converting and learning more about Islam, a friend of mine suggested I come visit here.
I was told that the best time to come if I’m interested to learn more is on Friday between 12:30 — 1:00pm.

The people at this mosque are super friendly to new people!
English and Arabic are the main spoken languages. My experience is limited to a quick Friday night prayer so I cannot really say how busy it would be during the daytime but the women section was not crowded at all.
Overall, the environment is very calm and peaceful. My experience was completely serene and I would definitely come again but during the daytime. It was exactly what I expect from a mosque, blissful, beautiful and charming.
Very close to the subway # 6 and there is a halal guy food truck right in front.

I remember the first time I went to this mosque. The way the imam recited. it was like he was reciting to my soul. For those of you jummah-​praying women, this is a very good mosque with a great women’s section. It’s at the upper level which is basically a balcony at the back of (and over-​looking) the men’s section down below. The dome ceiling is beautiful and everything about this mosque is just beautiful. What I love most though is the diversity of people who come to pray here. all different colors, all different ages. It’s great MashaAllah. So great that I come here from Queens regularly for jummah prayer.
