2.5−3.0 Stars Mid Town West Hotel. Average sized rooms w average comfort beds and average service. In Room movies w free wifi, mini bar and fitness center. Both Resteraunt and bar in house. Not many comfy spaces. Low-​mid price range. Fair deal. Overall, very pedestrian.

Stay here for one night today, probably the best hotel I’ve ever had in Manhattan, especially at Times Sq, the location is perfect, just one block away from Time Sq and subway, room is tiny but enough, love this hotel, will come back next time!!!

Stayed over New Years 2016. Wonderful little luxury hotel. The staff was above and beyond helpful. The rooms were very clean. Small, but it is New York. I came with my husband, my teenage daughters and their friend, and my two year old. We got three rooms because only two people fit in a room. Pricing was good. All three rooms were spotless and the beds were very comfortable. One downside was that we were not able to adjust room temperature from the room, we had to call the front desk because it has central heat/​air? Room was very warm so we ended up cracking open a window all night. No minifridge in the room for the baby’s milk, but they brought one up immediately free of charge when requested. Overall, staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were very clean and well appointed, beds were comfy. Would stay here again.

Very charming hotel with the nicest staff ever. Perfect location, amazing beds, and clean, quiet rooms –with doorbells!!! So much character, wouldn’t change a thing. Highly recommended!!! 100A+++

Went to the little cocktail bar here last night with a friend visiting from London. Amazing! Probably the best cocktails I have ever had. Staff were very attentive and helpful and the atmosphere had a cosy buzz about it. Overall a really good experience. I will definitely return.

Great little boutique hotel! It’s really close to Times Square and New York’s tourist scene without all the noise and traffic! It’s literally steps away from Times Square and Rockefeller Center.
Design: European style, London feel to it.
It’s a lovely design, posh and quaint and a perfect little getaway. The rooms are small but that is expected.
Facilities: Clean, save for the pipes.
Let’s start with the room. Very clean and well stocked! They have basically towels for every use which may be a bit excessive but then you get your pick of what to use. Cups for brushing teeth, copious amounts of soap and shampoo, etc and plenty of lighting with a double sided vanity mirror. The only issue that I had during my stay was the pipes. I tried to fill the tub one night to soak my feet after a long day of walking and debris from the pipes came out (little specks of dirt and things like that).
It occurred around 11 that night and I called the front desk to report this issue. They immediately sent someone up to see to this issue and checked the tub. Unfortunately that night the engineer had already went home so there was nothing to be done right away. They offered to have me swap rooms but it was not a huge concern for me (additionally, having already checked into a room and then swapping would have the room attendants doing additional work, which I didn’t think was absolutely necessary). The next day, they called to the room around 10pm to inform me that the engineer had checked the pipes and cleaned it out and there should be no additional problems and they were true to their word.
Service: Very warm and welcoming front desk agents! Bellmen were very attentive and helpful and the operations staff was very welcoming. They started recognizing me after the first night (I was there for three nights)!
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. I would stay there again and the reason I gave four stars was of the pipe issue. I understand it is an old building (over 100 years old!) but it is still a hospitality facility and that is a concern to be noted.
Another thing that stood out was during turn down service, they not only gave chocolates (which were delicious), but also cards that noted tomorrow’s weather conditions. It was quite fantastic as it made dressing the next day so much easier. There was also hot apple cider in the lobby! Perfect for those colder days…
This hotel is definitely on my to-​stay list!

I hope my rating doesnt just reflect my Texan expectation in the heart of NYC. Don’t get me wrong, the hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The décor and style was a little older. The room itself was pretty darn small. We had a queen bed and there was hardly room to walk around. The bathroom was well decorated, but adding fans and ventillation would be a huge plus.

I very much enjoyed my 1-​night stay here. It was a small but extremely clean room, comfortable, quiet, and everything worked great. Very convenient location relative to BDFM or 123 trains, and of course Times Square if you’re into that kind of mayhem. I might try the Algonquin next time (just to see it), but I would and probably will gladly stay here again. It seems a bit cheaper as well (my bill was $ 227 total for a Sunday night in October). Not bad for midtown!

stayed for 5 nights in a king bedroom on the second floor. The hotel is a great location for everywhere in Manhattan. I always prefer a hotel which does not accept huge tour groups. The Iroquois is a posh historic boutique hotel which had all I needed. The room tended to be small and at least mine didn’t have nice view. Just faced next building. But I could compromise about that since it was midtown in Manhattan. Their comfy bed and turndown service made for a good night sleep for me. Luckily for me, my room was close to the gym and sauna which I used frequently. Although before using sauna, it’s necessary to request it be turned on, the gym was open 24 hours. I was really glad the gym had a bath and shower room, also amenities were Molten Brown which was same as room amenities. All staff were always quick to respond and friendly. One memorable thing was free morning coffee and later on free refreshment ice water which were offered in the lobby. Also they had a cozy nostalgic library room where there were newspapers, internet terminal, and books. Overall, they offered comfortable stay even though they didn’t have scenic view.

This hotel is a like a throwback to 1930’s. From the Iroquois sign that shines bright in the street, to the uniformed bel hops in the lobby, Iroquois hotel is a flashback to a time that hotels were considered a luxury experience.
Located steps from Times Square, Iroquois hotel is in the heart of New York’s tourist area. With easy access to multiple subways, you can get anywhere in the city from this area. You’re also very close to some of the best shopping the city has to offer.
The rooms are quite small, but are very elegantly done. It manages to provide all the amenities you would expect with a good hotel experience. In addition to this, the bathroom is immaculate and the bed was very comfortable.
The biggest plus of the room would have to be how quiet it was. Regardless of where you stay in Manhattan, you’re likely to be confronted with that good old fashioned New York noise. However, the Iroquois hotel manages to shield itself from the surrounding madness of time square and provide a near silent stay.
Overall this hotel provides great value and ideal for short getaways. Again, the rooms are very small, but if that’s not an issue for you, then this is a great hotel option for Manhattan.

Absolutely stellar experience here. Really a great hotel!
Tips and notes:
–Ask for a room at the back of the hotel — very quiet
–The heavy duty blackout shades and ridiculously comfy bed gave us the best sleep we’d had in months
–We asked for a small fridge (there was a stocked pay-​per-​item fridge in the room but it is not meant for your personal food or meds) and they brought one with no extra charge, and it worked fine
–Big nice new computers and printers in the front lounge for printing boarding passes or tickets
–Super pro concierge and doormen who are used to dealing with tourists and are very tolerant and friendly, think about all the idiots they must cope with and I was impressed they were so upbeat, nice and patient. But not fake
–A nice lady comes by your room around 6pm with a little card that has tomorrow’s weather forecast on it and some chocolates. AWESOME
–Bathroom was pretty tiny, and has overhead lighting that casts long shadows on your face, not the best for doing makeup, but full length mirror in closet worked fine as a substitute
–Location can’t be beat. Near everything — Empire State, Times Square, MOMA, Grand Central Station and Bryant Park, Bryant Park subway stop. Drugstore just around the corner, greasy spoon diner next door, beautiful hotel bars all along this street
–If you’re not using Über/​Lyft, have the door guys hail you a cab — they have their trusted drivers they know will take care of you and hell, they probably get a kickback
–Climate is centrally controlled, so you cannot control your room temp. We never had a problem with it being too cold or too hot, but then again we aren’t crying wimps about temperature. It was fine
We will definitely stay here on our next trip, it’s our new favorite and we miss it already!

— i have a fire escape outside my window which blocks my view. i didn’t mind though because i was able to open my window and climb out and sit on the fire escape to enjoy a late night dessert.
— high end bathroom finishes and fixtures
— only one outlet next to the bed and you had to wedge your charger between mattresses to reach it.
— cramped desk space which included a desk lamp that had to sit in the middle of the desk because the shade was so large.
— nice and surprising light in the closet

Great family-​friendly, centrally located boutique hotel. There were even goody bags for my two kids upon our arrival! Staff is warm and welcoming and eager to assist. We stayed in a suite which was very spacious for a family of 4 — good size living room, large bedroom and a bathroom with both a shower stall and separate soaking tub. I’m used to very small rooms in big cities like NY and SF, so I was pleasantly surprised at the roominess. If you are planning to see all the tourist sites, this hotel is perfectly located for doing so. It’s walking distance to so many things that other Unilocalers have already outlined, and it’s just a couple of blocks from the subway to get you anywhere else you need to go.

I found the Iroquois to be a real delight for my brief stay for a business trip. The staff was «bend over backwards» accommodating — friendly and responsive at every turn. The room was really quite comfortable and definitely met my needs. My only complaint was that I had a hard time getting the temperature to a point where I was comfortable (I don’t like to be cold). Otherwise, highly recommend… the staff was, as others have noted, really high on customer satisfaction.

Absolutely agreeing with the bulk of other reviews but bumping the Iroquios Hotel to 5 stars after enjoying a genuine NYC staycation. We actually live in town but wanted to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. I let them know in advance and they surprised us with wine and delicious desserts along and really nice note. It’s a great property situated right in midtown just a couple blocks from Times Square. It’s a great block with lots of historical buildings and restaurants /​bars. It’s a smaller hotel which gives it a nice personal touch. It’s warm and inviting with 2 bar choices that we’ll be back to visit regardless. Lastly, the clientele is cool. I literally rode the elevator with an indie rock band who’s name i’ll keep quiet! There were lots of normal people like me but it felt pretty awesome to talk with some interesting people. Last note… we checked out with no surprises except for a call from housekeeping who told the front desk we left our charger in the room. They literally caught us walking out the door and hand delivered the charger. I was seriously impressed with the entire experience. Hopefully you get the same treatment!

More like 3 ½ stars. I have no complaints about this place. The staff was friendly, its close to pretty much everything going on near the Broadway district. The room was very small, so much so that we actually stood at the door like «Wow! this is really small!» But it served the purpose. I would recommend it to those that plan on spending most of their time out and about. The beds are extremely comfortable so I’d expect that most would be able to rest easy after being out all day.

There are thousands of choices when it comes to a hotel in NYC. What makes Iroquois special is that it’s a boutique hotel in mid-​town with many of the small touches you get at a 5 star hotel, but at around $ 230 per night depending upon how you book the room. I’ve stayed here twice this year, and will continue to come back. Super friendly and courteous staff.

BEWARE HOTEL STAFF ARE TERRIBLE
As I approached the front desk, the lady made NO EFFORT at all to acknowledge my presence, despite the fact that I was the only one in line. I stood there for a good minute until finally I made my presence known. She then proceeded to provide no greeting whatsoever and simply asked for my name, cc and ID. Seconds later she gives up trying to find my name (even after spelling it out for her) and passes it on to her coworker. They then provide me the key and room number and brushed me off.
I was in and out of the hotel throughout the afternoon/​night/​morning and was never greeted. Apparently, to them, I was just another body at the hotel and not even good enough for their attention. Furthermore, I called the front desk hoping to clarify a charge on my cc and was told I would receive a call back. Well, a good 30 minutes by the phone was enough for me to just give up.
Overall, the hotel itself was clean and cozy but the hospital staff were horrendous. Please educate your staff on proper hotel etiquette. Seems like you have to check in with an LV bag and neck full of jewerly for them to notice you.

When I walked up to the front desk, the service person looked at me and did not acknowledge my existence. Instead, he waited for me to say, «I’m checking in,» to offer me assistance.
The front desk proceeded to lose our umbrella amongst a multitude of other umbrellas in their back room… They then tried to offer us other umbrellas from the pile like used car salespeople.
When checking out, the front desk lady charged me 80 dollars for a room upgrade, which I proceeded to explain I hadn’t made. When I said this, she basically accused me of lying, saying they had received a request and that they gave one to me so I needed to pay. … After a few minutes she looked in some record system and suddenly said that nevermind, and that she took it off our bill, with no explanation. I was left confused and offended!
This could have something to do with the fact that I am 18 and I don’t look like a typical «nice hotel» customer. This to me, though, says even more about the service of this hotel.
On the other hand, the hotel is very centrally located and they have a few nice amenities. The décor is not that great, although it is no Motel 6.
When I choose to stay in a relatively expensive hotel, I don’t think just a place to lay my head is really an adequate trade-​off for my money — I should receive friendly service!
