Went in to get a battery replaced on a Swatch and ask how to re-set the date on my watch. The battery was done fine for $ 15, huge markup but it’s a pricey shop and I wanted the convenience. The sense of rudeness and lack of helpfulness about my question about how to re-set the date at the end of each month(should be in intuitive but isn’t) was thrown in for free.

I’ve been going here for years, and it’s time I gave them the credit they deserve. Yes, most of the time they’re just changing a watch battery, but I’ve also had them do repairs on a real(i.e., mechanical) watch. They’re not cheap, but they do a good job, and they guarantee the work for a year. And they change the battery on my fancy quartz watch while I wait for about $ 13.(The manufacturer charges more than $ 40, I have to send the watch to them or drop it off at their store, and I don’t get to see it again for two or three weeks.) What prompted me to finally write a review? I dropped the mechanical watch they had fixed for me. It hit the floor hard, and the hour hand spun meaninglessly whenever the watch was tilted. The mechanism was apparently fine, but only the minute hand was doing anything useful. So I brought the watch back to Ilana, and they fixed it. No charge.

I highly recommend liana Jewelry for their repairs. They were extremely fair price-wise, and gave personal attention to my concerns. The earrings were repaired perfectly. The man in charge was exceptionally personable, and made me feel well taken care of. How can you ask for more in the middle of NYC.

Do not give your watch to these people. They broke the crystal of my Rado while they were changing the battery. Why, you ask, were they taking off the crystal? Well, because they wanted to switch out the diamonds, of course. There was no reason to take off the crystal of the watch; «Bob» said he was curious. «Bob» didn’t know how to replace the crystal. So, in other words: incompetent, lying, thieves.

Went there today to get a watch sized and put a battery in another. He was a complete professional and a nice guy. Told me if I don’t like the fitting to come back and he’ll change it again. You don’t get service like this often.

This is where you need to go to get your watch repaired! The people working there are extremely knowledgable and they genuinely seem like they want to help you. I have been in there multiple times in the past week, the first time was to get a new band and fix a dead watch. They did this with ease and I enjoyed hearing their answers to all my battery/watch/band related questions. They even offered advice that I should fasten the band on one less of a loop during the summer time to leave room for the band to breath. A day later, now knowing how great this place was, I took a loose watch to them for link removal, they did it in under two minutes and they didn’t even charge me! Excellent customer service and I now trust them to fix all of my watch related problems.

Got a watch battery replaced here. Went home just to find out that the man damaged(chipped and dented) the back of watch cover trying to pry it out when all he needed to do was unscrew it with the watch case opener wrench. He didn’t even let me know this had happened. This was a special watch and he did not take care of it, go to a place that will.

My grandmothers watch was unrepairable according to ever other place I took it to. Ilana got it fixed – the guy built a new movement by hand– and 5 years later it is still working fine. I take everything to them now.

This place actually has more than watches but this review is just for the watch fixing they did for me — it wasn’t cheap but they do the work on hand and I had given my watch a pretty good smashing so… it was probably my fault for that. But the watch seriously works better now than it did prior to being smashed(fell off and landed smack on the subway platform). The guy there is nice but I’ll say«new york city nice» — don’t expect them to act like a broker salivating over a 6 figure commission. I see this as a positive in some respects — feels more ‘real’ and they clearly know their stuff. Plus supporting local businesses is a great thing in the village.
