The employees were so friendly and accomodating! All the flavors are so unique and unlike any ice cream I’ve had. I sampled 3 flavors (Food Baby, American Beauty, & Bath Salts) and ended up getting a double cup ($ 6.75) of Food Baby and American Beauty.
Food Baby (concord grape, donut soil, rainbow sprinkles, rasberry coulis) was my favorite of the flavors I tried. It was perfectly sweet and tasted like a jelly donut.
American Beauty (crème fraîche, rose petal jam) was also sweet, though not as flavorful as Food Baby. Rich and delicious!
Bath Salts (lavender, pine stracciatella) tasted like its name, so I can’t complain. It wasn’t a personal favorite but I can certainly see why people like it.
I didn’t sample as many flavors as I’d have liked to, but I plan to return one day and try more. Aside from the ice cream, the location of this place is great! Straight down one street is a perfect view of the Freedom Tower and down another, the Empire State Building. I’ll definitely review again after I come back and try more flavors!

Delicious ice cream in a quiet location.
Was brought to Ice and Vice by Mike C’s mesmerizing photos of scoop on top of scoop on top of scoop. The shop is cute, surprisingly in a quieter side of Manhattan which was a nice surprise. I opted for a birthday cake cone + scoop of food baby and was very pleased with the ice cream. Fun flavors and nice location = solid 5 star review.

The place is like in the middle of nowhere but still have so much business! It was so hard to choose which flavor to get because it all sound so good. It $ 4.65 for a single scoop and $ 6.65 for a double. It’s $ 2 extra for another scoop. It’s $ 1.75 extra for the premium cone. The birthday cake cone (vanilla with funfetti sprinkles) taste good with a little bit of sweetness. The Coconut Almond Macaroon cone is so good, it was sweet and does remind you of a macaroon.
The Balt Salt legit tastes like a bath bomb you would smell at Lush. It was my boyfriend’s favorite, he couldn’t get enough of it. The taste was really strong and it was sweet in a whole different way. You can taste the sea salt in Milk Money, and it was sweet which I loved. Tea Dance was full of tea flavor but it wasn’t too strong, just the right amount where it dissolves. Happy panda taste exactly like a horchata, full of cinnamon flavor which you thought could get overwhelming but I didn’t get sick of it at all.

My summer time vice will surely be coming here to get that ice-​cream fix. I’ve never had such unique flavors and cones, and although it’s $ 7 for a scoop of ice-​cream in a specialty cone I know I’ll be coming back regardless. That’s when you know it’s good! I had the blue corn cone and the devour power scoop. «DogFish IPA, Toasted Blue Corn, Old Bay „Lobster“ Croutons» From looking at the ingredients, you knew it was either gonna taste really weird or really good. For me, it tasted realllly good.
I hear they have 4 experimental flavors and let the winning flavor stay permanently. If you’re looking to try an experimental, make sure you come before it gets knocked off the list! Samples are offered and staff are extremely nice and friendly as well :)
It’s also pretty cool that they have two rooms in the back with see through windows so you can see that ice-​cream is made on the spot!

I came here with a group of friends around 12:30 on a Saturday since I heard there was a Blogger Battle Royale going on where 5 famous food bloggers created their own flavors. When I arrived there was no one else there. More people began to trickle in a few minutes later.
I follow Foodbabyny on Instagram and came to try their flavor. I got a double scoop of foodbaby (concord grape, raspberry coulis, rainbow sprinkles, and donut soils) in a pink coconut almond macaroon cone that was so pretty! Total came out to around 8 something. It was really delicious and so glad the flavor won!
Shoutout to Dennis who was so friendly to me and all of the other customers. He tried to get me to buy a triple scoop hahaha but my stomach could barely fit a double. The space inside has a few seats along the glass window to eat and people watch. There are also two tables on the side.
Yummy ice cream, friendly staff, and nice setting? Can’t find any faults with this place. They just turned 1 today! Can’t wait to come back to try all the flavors. Definitely recommend coming here!!!

Worth the trek. I had milk money and the champagne and coffee flavor (21+!) in a salted blue corn cone, and it was incredible. Also tried my friend’s super chocolatey flavor (Shade) in a dark chocolate chai cone — amazing. Definitely don’t pass up the cones. The birthday cake one is also awesome.
I want to try some of their more inventive creations (sandwiches, s’mores). I’ll be back!

It’s officially ice cream season. In the summer of 2014, it was Morgenstern’s, 2015 Milkmade and winter 2016 Milk, Sugar, Love (JC) still dream about their organic Flavors. They are the only other artisan shop to make something with smoked chocolate my flavor obsession.
I’ve wanted to try smoked chocolate ice cream and found out Ice & Vice had it. I never made it here when they opened, but hopped over on a quiet Tuesday– I don’t do lines.
They craft cool Flavors like shade & milk $$$, but I came for the smoked chocolate. At 4.75 a cup, it’s a pricey taste. The smokey flavor took a few bites to win me over– faintly a back ended baconey jam. I loved the richness of the chocolate paired with the smokey– my vice!

Wanted to get here for a while. Finally, today, after work – worked holiday – I made it to ICE & VICE – THE STORE/​SHOP on East Broadway. I wanted to try Mike C’s (great Unilocal reviewer) FoodBaby Ice Cream creation. Mike C, & Ice & Vice, I applaud you! Delicious creation. The scoop looks like a strawberry color ice cream, BUT, it is/​says it’s a Concord grape, donut soil, rainbow sprinkles, & raspberry coulis (sauce) all blended in, but not overly blended, so you get a GREAT CRUNCH FROM THE RAINBOW SPRINKLES, you simply have cartwheeling tastebuds from the fantastic flavors of grape, raspberry, & rainbow sprinkles crunch. YUM TIMES TEN!!! Mike, you rock!!! ICE & VICE, you rock, too ! EXCELLENT, rich, dense, flavorful ice cream.
I had the chocolates rich flavor called SHADE, as my 2^nd scoop, but I requested that be placed in the cup first, since I had to taste FoodBaby ice cream on its own – so FoodBaby was on top or kind of side by side. Both were delicious. FoodBaby – creative creation & so yummy good.
I tried MilkMoney at Madison Square Eats & it was great. A vanilla rich, dense flavor with a fab swirl of rich, deep dark chocolate ganache. Excellent!
Overall: EXCELLENT!
Visiting NYC: A MUST TO TRY THIS ICE CREAM & worth the bit of a schlep. YES FOR SURE! If you are in Chinatown or Little Italy, you are Close!

I have been dying to go to Ice & Vice since last summer but the low low looooow east side location had prevented me from visiting thus far. Today, however, I got my chance. The shop is tiny and the ice cream isn’t cheap but I can say without a doubt that it is worth the trek to try the ice cream here.
After sampling some of the flavours, I settled on food baby and champagne and coffee in a funfetti cone while my sister had champagne and coffee and opium den in a blue corn cone. WOWWWW the ice cream was amazing. The flavours had a lot of depth and delivered on the taste of each ingredient without being overwhelming. I wasn’t so impressed with my cone flavour but at least the ice cream wasn’t dripping out the bottom.
My sister and I liked the ice cream so much that we got a second helping of 9 am to share! Nooooo shame.
Minus one star because the service was weird. The servers were so bland it was borderline rude. Be a littler friendlier when serving your customers! They also trashed some people who came in, had samples, and left without buying anything. While I understand their frustration, it was kind of unprofessional. Also, they take flavours out to thaw but you can’t have them which is just dangling the unattainable in front of the customer. They should either have the foresight to take the flavours out earlier or keep them in another area out of sight.

OMG! this place a must go to spot! the flavors are amazing! i recommend the chocolate chai waffle cone. the coffee & champagne ice cream is really good and the tea dance compliments it very well.

Ice & Vice has the most creative ice cream flavors I’ve ever seen — some are definitely better than others, but I’m glad that this store is taking a risk with such unique options.
I tried both the Milk Money and the Tea Dance, which are the store’s most popular flavors. Both were delicious, but the Tea Dance really won me over — super fragrant, and you can really taste all the different tea flavors that went into the ice cream. The consistency of the scoops is creamy, but perhaps melts a tad faster than your typical ice cream (texture is a bit soft).
Can’t wait to come back and try some of the other flavors (like Opium Den!).

Ice and Vice is appropriately named. Sleek interior design that is appealing to the eyes. Names and flavor combinations that will intrigue and partly baffle the mind.
If you like spoiling your appetite with delicious things, you won’t be disappointed.
I walked in wanting to try the 9 am. It just came out of the freezer, so it was difficult to get out. However, I was offered a sample. After talking with the employees, they offer me another sample of the Tea Dance.
Lemon Charcoal caramel, how is that supposed to work?
It was a touch bitter but still sweet. The hint of charcoal added a bit of grit and the caramel was just rich enough. The texture of the ice cream was smooth and Nilgiri tea was fragrant.
It’s not cheap at 4.75 a scoop. The flavors are innovative and you can try a sample before committing to a flavor.
It isn’t a necessity but you’ll justify it.
It’s worth it.

Have been wanting to try out this place for ages now and so glad I finally got to today! We got here at around 4pm on a rainy day and there were still a lot of people ordering inside, which shows how popular this place is. The guy who was taking/​preparing people’s orders was super nice! He didn’t mind giving out samples and actually gave many recommendations on what the popular flavors are and which flavors would suit the taste buds of the person ordering (ex. which flavors are not as sweet, which ones are more savory, etc.). However, at the same time, his niceness was also a negative aspect because he spent way too much time on each customer. The line wasn’t particularly long but I honestly have never spent so much time waiting on line to order ice cream… The place itself is very hip and trendy looking.
Milk money– A popular flavor and I found it to be pretty good. It sort of tastes like a sweeter version of vanilla with a little bit of chocolate inside as well. Just a tad on the sweet side.
Tea dance– So delicious!!! This flavor has won me over! :) The flavor of the tea was strong and spot on and absolutely amazing! It paired perfectly with a little bit of caramel drizzle inside the scoop!
Ice and Vice is great! The flavors are delicious, the owner is super friendly, and the ambience is cool so what’s not to love about it? Out of all the ice cream places that I’ve tried so far in NYC (and I’ve tried a lot), Tea Dance is definitely my #1 favorite flavor! The only suggestion I would like to make is for them to have another cashier available just to speed up the ordering process. Otherwise, favorite ice cream place so far!

I’ve always wanted to try Ice & Vice, hearing that they have very unique and different flavors. My friends and I were nearby and wanted to grab some ice cream despite the rainy weather. It’s a small ice cream place. There was no one in there when we walked in and we were warmly greeted by the girl behind the counter. She was very patient and friendly, letting us test try some flavors. It was very hard to decide which one to get but I finally decided to get the Opium Den and then got stuck again on what cone to get. The server suggested the blue corn cone because it goes with the savory ice cream. She was right, it went really well together.
My friend got the Coffee & Champagne flavor (a seasonal flavor) on a chocolate chai cone. The server also suggested a cone for this ice cream. My friend said the ice cream would probably be too sweet on its own but the cone balanced it out. I tried the coffee and champagne flavor and I didn’t like it (my personal opinion).
After us we saw two people ordering and they had a green cone and a regular color cone in hand. On the menu on the wall, there were four options so I guess those are the four colors. We also overheard the server telling other customers that each scoop ordered for the seasonal flavors is a vote for that flavor (apparently a contest to see which seasonal flavor wins). One of the seasonal flavor is called Food Baby, I wanted to get that but it sounded really sweet and was like a mixture of all children’s love of sweets/​snacks.
I do wish they have regular plain flavors for when people decide to be less exotic than their flavors. But I’m glad I tried this place out and for what I got, it was really good and I liked it. I will probably come back and try other flavors.

I wanted to try this place because the flavors are truly unique. I went in with high hopes for Tea Dance. I got the Opium Den (White Sesame, Toasted Poppy Seed, Lemon Bread Croûton) and Tea Dance (Nilgiri Tea Leaf, Lemon Charcoal, Salted Caramel) on a sugar cone. Decided to opt out of the flavored cones this time and just focus on the ice cream.
Anyway, I really only got the Opium Den because it seemed like quite a lot of Unilocalers rave about this flavor, and my brother recommended it as well. I didn’t think I would like it, but OH MAN IT IS SO GOOD. The flavors in it are perfectly balanced. The lemon was refreshing and not too sour. The poppy seeds and croutons came as a nice contrast to the creaminess of the ice cream. I don’t think I tasted white sesame though. Would definitely come back for this.
Tea Dance did not really stand out in any way to me, though I ate this after Opium Den, so maybe it’s flavors are just more muted. The lemon in this was nonexistent compared to Opium Den. Even the salted caramel didn’t have much flavor, and I’m normally a giant fan of salted caramel. And I didn’t taste any tea even though Nilgiri tea is supposed to be pretty strong. Will ask for a sample of this next time to try on a clean palate to see if it might taste different.
I also tried the 9AM (French Roast Coffee, Chicory, Saigon Cinnamon, Condensed Milk, Donut Truffle), which I thought was a bit too bitter to my liking and I didn’t really taste the cinnamon. And I tried the Food Baby (Concord Grape, Donut Soil, Rainbow Sprinkles, Raspberry Coulis) and all I got from this was tart tart tart.
Looking forward to coming back to get Opium Den again and try other new flavors!

After seeing this on many fellow Unilocalers, including infamous Mike C’s FoodbabyNY account, I knew I had to stop by Ice & Vice for some of their interesting flavors. However, Ice & Vice is a hike from most places in the city (accessible via F line — Essex St or Delancey St) so I only happened to stop by after dinner nearby in the LES.
I&V costs just as much as any popular ice cream spot in the LES, but you get a good amount for your buck. A fancy shmancy cone with interesting flavor combinations will run you an extra $ 1.75. I went for said cone, since I was unlikely to be back for a while — it’s time to start that beach bod phase.
I surveyed the menu for several minutes and had a couple samples before finally settling with the Food Drunk flavor — cherry and lime with «bubblegum fudge». The texture of the ice cream itself was really smooth and not icy at all — loved it. The flavor was different — almost like a cherry limeade from Sonic, if anyone’s ever had that. Definitely very zesty. The bubblegum fudge was an interesting addition to the ice cream, that’s for sure. While I really liked the fudge, it reminded me of the taste of the blue sparkly Crest toothpaste that we used to have to brush our teeth with when we were too young to understand that we’re not supposed to eat toothpaste. Regardless, it was a delicious flavor and I would have it again.
My ginger, mint, and lime cone didn’t really taste like all that much after going through the ice cream, so I will likely go for a regular sugar cone next time since my tastebuds were frozen and I couldn’t taste anything anyways. I did notice that you get more ice cream in the special cones.
I will likely be back to Ice & Vice for more of their interesting flavors (Fireball whiskey and ramen cheeto crunch, anyone??) when I am in the area. It’s definitely worth hitting up for their regular and seasonal interesting flavors.

Ice & Vice happened to be along the route of my foodie adventure with a friend whom I haven’t seen in a long time. It’s also been in my bookmarks for awhile, so I’m glad that I was finally able to try it out. The flavors on the menu are very unique and invite a lot of curiosity. If you’re looking to try something bold and different from typical flavored ice creams, then Ice & Vice is your best bet.
I got two different scoops, which were the Opium Den and Love & Hate. The Opium Den scoop tasted terrible. The whole scoop had poppy seeds all over and it kept tasting like a cream cheese bagel. Love & Hate was a little better, but it did little to alleviate my dismay. I knew in the back of my mind that I should have sampled all the flavors. =_​=” My friend was more fortunate to have gotten Tea Dance, which was tangy and my most favorite flavor. On a positive note, I must say that the texture of the ice cream is very light, comforting and definitely made the experience a whole lot more bearable.
Being adventurous and trying the new and unknown are always a few of the most rewarding parts of the experience of being a self-​proclaimed foodie. Next time, I’ll be more cautious to choose flavors that cater to my palate more. Or I can just forget that I ever wrote that, and keep trying different flavors. But no matter what, Tea Dance is definitely on top of the list, that’s for sure!

I’m the type of customer who gets weird looks from people when ordering ice cream and mixing flavors, so I’ve got some weird taste buds, but the first time I came here, I might have been the one making the weird looks! I had NO clue what to get.
Feel free to ask for samples cause with all their wacky ice cream flavors & cones, you’re gonna need some time to figure it out.
If you’re heading in their now, you came at an awesome time. 5 foodie bloggers are competing to keep their unique flavors on the menu, for good. So… more flavors!
My girlfriend and I shared a double stack:
Milk Money & 9AM on/​in a Blue Corn Honey cone.
–Milk money is probably the safest option here lol, it’s a delicious toasted milk w/​sea salt and chocolate ganache.
–9AM, on the other hand, not so safe, but absolutely delicious! Basically a vietnamese coffee cream, w/​donut truffles. DONUT TRUFFLES! Too good. TOO GOOD!
On the second visit, I went with the FoodBaby flavor on a Dark Chocolate Chai cone.
–Foodbaby is made up of concord grape, rainbow sprinkles, raspberry coulis, and donut soil.
I’ve gotta say, when trying a sample, it wasn’t amazing, but when I got a scoop to myself, each bite just kept on getting better and better and better. This might just be my top flavor so far. Also, the dark chocolate chai cone enhanced the entire thing for by breaking that sweetness a little with the freshness and aroma of the chai, and the slight bitterness of the dark chocolate. I URGE you all to try this combination.
Service is amazing! They’ve all got an extensive knowledge of their menu items, and describe it in ways that make you more indecisive haha. Do NOT ask them what they think about the competing flavors because they can’t mention anything but the ingredients.
And like I said before, they’re happy to give free samples, even when you’ve already finished yours. *points at myself*
I love this place, and will most definitely be back to try more flavors and combinations!

Definitely one of the best ice cream shops in the city!
I used to think this place was just really hyped up, but it is deserving of all the praise it gets. Their flavor combinations are unique and tasty — who even thinks of a donut truffle?!
We got the 9 AM & Milk Money — coffee and milk should go together, right? The flavors are great on their own. I am a fan of coffee ice cream, but this Vietnamese coffee and donut truffle took it to a new level. You can’t miss the coffee flavor for this one. The milk money is more subtle, but equally delicious. Another bonus — they’re awesome konery cones. Crunchy, and they have flavors of their own. They also have the squishiest marshmallows!
What’s cool (besides the designs all around the shop) is that they have specials. Right now, they have specials inspired by different famous foodstagrammers. The owner was eager, helpful and patient with us as we decided what we wanted. I look forward to coming back!

I’ve been here on 3 occasions so far and have left in a better mood each time. The ice cream here is pretty darn excellent and has made it into my top 3 spots in the city, especially after they started carrying the amazing Konery cones!
Creative flavors and creative names. I’ve tried the milk money, 9AM, tea dance and opium den — all flavors I’d order over and over again. Super smooth scoops and the flavor combos all work. My favorite is the tea dance though — the flavor is so distinct and intense in the best way.
A mere 10 min walk from home, this is both dangerous and delightful at the same time. Double scoop in a Konery cone ($ 1.75) will set you back a whopping $ 8.50 but for such a satisfying treat, I’ll gladly fork it over, again and again. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!
